I'm actually impressed with how both A&E as well as Vice did on presenting the Ultimate Warrior. Neither shy away from the truth. As far as my thoughts on Jim, I have forgiven him for the stuff he said and done. He was not the nicest guy in the world and he showed us that. However, I am glad that he got to make amends before he passed away. Life is to short to hold a grudge against someone. We as a culture need to learn that lesson. I believe that Jim knew that he would probably die in a year so that is why he ask forgiveness from his peers. If you noticed in the WrestleMania 30 documentary he acted very calmly and not angry at all. Maybe he cleaned his life up or maybe he even found the Lord. Who knows but I really like his last promo he did before he passed away the day after. Hopefully he can rest in peace. Jake Roberts said that he learned a lesson when Jim apologized to him. And that is something we all need to hear.

I like Jim Cornett, he’s one of my favorite people in the wrestling business but it’s kind of his fault the reason why people think this way. Ever since he did that shoot interview where he said Kevin Nash only had six moves everyone that’s gotten into the business after that thinks that to be a great worker you have to do 1000 moves. While he did sound like a raging Tradcon lolcow ("Big L" Libertarians like us tend to mock both sides), he was a genuinely cool person even towards those who disagreed with his opinions. He actually said he regretted his "queering doesn't make the world work" rant in his talk. I did like how the DSOR episode highlighted him apologizing to everyone he knew he did wrong like Jake Roberts. Warrior did seem like he felt guilty about the shitty things he did when he was wrestling and boy there are many. Despite it all, I was a Warrior fanboy when I was a kid and as an adult I think he was fighting a number of insecurities and his crazy Tradcon rants served as an outlet. At the same time, a problem with the Ultimate Warrior as Champion was the fact that the WWE at the time wrote themselves into a corner with the character once he won the title. The Ultimate Warrior not only won all the time, he won in such a way that nobody else stood a chance against him. He beat Andre the Giant in 30 seconds. Both him and Hulk Hogan convincingly defeated all the heels in the organization at the time. He never showed vulnerability until he wrestled the Undertaker after he lost the title. It is hard to draw money if nobody buys into the fact that he can be beaten.

For a christmas special this year solomonster should check out the warrior's comic books, they're a real scream when it comes to showing just how nutter butters warrior was at the time. Especially the last ones in which he beats the piss out of a clear hulk hogan stand in before going on what can only be called a rampage against the WWF in which he straight up murders people before strangling the grinch who stole christmas to death and apparently killing snata then stealing his clothes.

I was ten in 1987 when the Warrior debuted in WWF. Unlike all these people that grew up watching him and loved him at the time, I never liked him. Granted, I always favored the heels even as a kid, but I knew good babyfaces when I saw them, and Warrior was not the kind I wanted to see. I remember looking at him and thinking "there is no way anyone can legitimately beat this guy". I hated the running and shaking the ropes. I cringed when his music would kick on. I had no interest in his interviews and thought his personality impossible to connect with. I was planning on watching the Dark Side of the Ring episode, but it sounds like they really dropped the ball. Can't believe they didn't bring up the WCW run.

I think it was for the best considering that WWF in 1997 was more or less shredding off the remnants of the New Generation Era and the egos backstage would have been worse with him in the company.

Jake lied all and was overly dramatic throughout DSOT. I don't think Warrior said everything Jake said he did when he asked him to work with him. Plus, Warrior wasn't champ at the time. Also, no way was Jake going to hit Warrior with a roll of quarters and beat his ass at the hall of fame.

I don t know why Dark Side of The Ring had both Jim Cornette and Jim Ross. They both had the exact same viewpoints and comments. It seems that he did genuinely regret some of his anger - but for Dana to claim he changed from a conservative to non-conservative in 4 years is total BS. (Why would he?!!)

The dark side producers are big marks for Cornette and JR.

For me , this Season has been largely disappointing - the only one I liked was the Pillman episode - the rest have been rather forgettable - I AM looking forward to the Grizzly Smith one , which I think is the next episode And was I the only one who ... not trying to sound like a Dick, but at times, at certain times, when the first wife would cry... at some parts it seemed very forced, since she really didn't shed any tears - I am only saying - for me, that's what I felt

I figured if the ultimate warrior and Jake had a feud after that . Either one would get a title shot with Hulk Hogan

Yeah, between his crazy ass and Jake's crazy drug/personality shit, it should be a real freak show. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing these damage cases laid under the microscope.

As a kid, the guy was as superhero as you could get. Shame we learn he's a fucking nutcase. Sometimes it's better to not know what your heroes really preach.

Surprised DOSTR ( yet to watch the A & E doc) completely skipped over his WCW run, especially with the shitshow that was his match with Hogan at Halloween Havoc

Either they thought there wasn’t much to talk about it or there wasn’t much they could dig up on it that hasn’t already been shared given the short stint he had in it.

Another great episode but I think you underestimate Jake Roberts, never the smartest guy. Brilliant in the ring and the psychological game was off the charts but he wasn't a smart guy. He never had a chance from birth, his family was so messed up. I've heard grizzly (Jake's dad) described by multiple ppl as a monster and one of the worst ppl they've ever met. But I absolutely believe Jake would have showed up with a roll of quarters with the plan to get even. He was crazy enough sober but he wasn't ever sober. So his not give a shit attitude plus being high, I think you severely underestimate Jake roberts
