If you think about the amount of effort required to keep a quality channel like this going. Richard was thinking about spreading out workload. I believe There mistake in bringing in a new narrator They tried to do it to quickly without ppl getting used to a new reader. Rather than occasionally dropping in a new narrator while Richard took a day off. Slowly ppl would accept the new partner of the team. I do prefer Richard thou does have the right tone/inflection to infer a mystery into every storyline.

@ I'm sorry, is this term "butthurt," currently listed in this year or any previous ones edition of Merriam's or Webster? My apologies, you probably have no idea what publications I am referring to. Also, in the form you are taking, butt hurt would be two words, and not a compound. Now we could go on all day/night about about your poor grammar, and intrusive and possibly voyeuristic tendencies, but it would probably be almost as excruciating as the next several years of what no one but yourself and your mother could call a life with at least a partially straight face. So go study the proper context of the adjective, lethal, and save us all the exasperation of your 7th grade slang. Also, stop commenting on KZbin videos, within less than 100 feet of a school, because we all know you're legally not allowed to be near one.

I’ve lived my whole life in Iowa and I’ve met people from Villisca. Apparently, the town gets harassed constantly by tourists and ghost hunters wanting to look at the house (it’s rumored to be haunted). People break in all the time to stay the night in the house. So much so that the town hired a private security company to monitor the building. As a favor to the residents of this community, please leave the house be. If you’re passing through Villisca, don’t ask where it is. Many towns with a dark past would use it as an attraction, but Villisca isn’t one of them. To them it’s a scar that still hasn’t healed. Please be respectful.

I live in Iowa as well but from my personal experience of visiting Villisca, I don't find this to be accurate. I have visited the town twice and found all the information I needed on Google. They are using this house as an attraction/museum of sorts. They are doing so tastefully and not in a "ghost hunt" type of way. Any additional tourists that were there weren't causing a stir nor were any locals annoyed by their presence from what I could tell. It is a quiet town in the middle of farmland which is to be expected in Iowa. The house and shed on the plot of land are being used as a museum to detail the history of the house as well as the murders that occurred. In addition to this, there is literally a sign in front of the house that says, "VILLISCA AX MUDER HOUSE, June 10, 1912". The individuals working there and that own it are Villisca locals too. They offer tours and overnight stays for what I considered to be a reasonable price. I have not stayed there overnight but did take advantage of the tour they offer. Before entering the home, they give thorough details about the case, the trial, history of the family, and history of the house. The two individuals that provided the information the day I visited were also in the "Ghost Adventures" episode back when they visited that location so it definitely seems as if they are okay with people knowing about this location. If you are looking to visit, which I would recommend if you are in the area, you can get all the details just as I did from Google or their Facebook page.

I lived in Iowa for several years in which a documentary film was done on the murders and shown with the filmmakers present in Cedar Rapids where I lived. Some other things - the authorities lost control of the crime scene almost immediately as townspeople trooped through the house to see for themselves what had happened. In addition, it was surmised that the the slab of bacon had been used as a . . .well, I think that's going to be in part 2 so I won't ruin in. This case has been one of the great American mysteries for quite some time an I am very much excited to see your conclusions to this case. The house had been turned into a boarding house and then separated apartments but was later bought and restored to its exact original specifications and comparable furnishings. There have been paranormal investigations (including a forgettable one by Zach and the boys of Ghost Adventures) but some of them had turned up some interesting phenomenon. A FM radio jock trying to spend the night in the house had run tail in the middle of the night. You can go and see it for yourself and take the tour.

This was far creepier than your usual, paranormal stories. I guess because we know this could happen to anyone anywhere and anytime. No matter what otherworldly, mystical forces you think can kill you, there are far more completely mundane things that can. It sickens me that this monster was never caught. :(

Everyone always says the living are far scarier than the dead, I disagree. The unknown is *far* more terrifying. Such tales of terror and torment that seemingly result in actual death like with Christopher Case or Gaurav Tiwari (BTS covered them both) are genuinely horrifying af. There’s simply no way to even protect yourself against something completely unknown.

It's even more terrifying when you realize that this one person was actually most likely responsible for all of these different crimes, because Bill James' understanding of data and probabilities goes so far beyond what other people can really understand. Maybe this one guy wasn't responsible for all of them, but he really ties the facts together in a convincing way that's difficult to see any other person being responsible because the crimes are really committed in such a similar and particular way. It's either one person or multiple people who just happen to have the same preferences and attention to detail. Very scary stuff.

There are similar killings dating back to 1874 -- see the Millstadt Family slaughter in Illinois on March 19, 1874. In addition, when one looks deep enough at old articles and videos, there is an image of a middle-aged muscular man with longish hair, a beard, and a moustache posing beside two girls on the day leading up to the murders... one of them Mary "Catherine" Moore. One former resident later stated in an interview that this man was a "stranger" who came into Villisca on the same day the photograph was taken -- June 9, 1912 -- and was never seen again when the residents woke up. According to her, seeing him with getting photographed with one of the Moore children on her last day alive permanently sent "chills" down her spine.

Last weeks episode also came earlier than usual. Still I myself don’t care what time of day it is. If a new bedtime stories episode pops up, I’ll watch it.
