April 24th is a psychological horror from the first person with a VHS effect
Average time to complete the game: 40 minutes
Are you ready to plunge into a nightmare to find out what happened on the night of April 24th?
The main character is an experienced journalist who always strives to uncover the truth. He manages to gain access to the house, which is guarded by the police, in connection with a terrible incident.
In the house, the main character discovers VHS recordings. The tapes capture the moments of events related to that fateful night and what happened afterwards. Gradually, watching the tapes, he begins to realize that he is being watched. And the consequences after viewing will be irreversible.
Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the house, through VHS recordings. Every frame, every sound will drive you crazy and endanger the life of anyone who decides to watch them.

The atmosphere and, particularly, the sound design definitely put me on edge. And that "baby doll" was downright freaky. But, in order to fully enjoy it, I'm going to have to take Chris' advice and not "look at the game too deeply." The way the story unfolds with the POV switches and the timeline doesn't make sense to me. Guess I'll just take the spooky and run... 🤣

I personally stopped taking it seriously on the 3rd minute mark when the guy started wielding an axe in one hand and a lighter in the other, and somehow still carried a video camera. And knowing how big the VHS cameras in the 90s were, I can't stop imagining it strapped to his head 😆

@@Scriptor13 No problem. I know you've been a super long time supporter so I was wondering if you have any particular favorite games/series that you'd recommend watching from CJU? Maybe like a top 5 even. I think I got introduced to him by watching him play Bunker 16 and that's been a favorite of mine since he was pretty dialed in on that one. I have a soft spot for Chilla's Art games despite their flaws, so the convenience store one goes hard imo. Blank Frame was a rollercoaster of the heart that I've thought about ever since watching his video on that one. There was one game a handful of years back and I'm not sure if it was John Wolfe or maybe both of them that played it where the opening was about an investigative science team that enters a facility that had been quarantined because a monster/alien? had broken free and it ended up being a sort of alien invasion game with dudes that slept upside down on the ceiling. Sorry for the ramble, but I forget the game's name lol, it's pretty good despite the weirdness.

I'm so confused by this story. So the husband seems to be having mental problems, but wife doesn't have him committed or someone see him for months. However, she decides to have an affair upstairs while he's living in the basement lol! Whoever is recording, when and how is hard to figure. I hate having to turn my brain off for things.

9:56 weird thing… I played a game called “devils calling” and it’s this exact same house…. And when I went into the laundry room like you did there was that EXACT same noise of things crashing down but when I went back out to see what it was… there was nothing that looked like it fell or made the noise… I thought it was weird… which is the only reason i remember it specifically. I don’t know how that’s even possible… but most of the furniture and stuff is even the same .. kids rooms are in the same place by the stairs … office and master bedroom are next to each other … but yeh… must be just a coincidence.. z but what an odd one

5:05 wow I know it happens to you all the time… but I just played a game called “devils calling” in this same house too 😂 when you went up the stairs and found the kids bedrooms .. they’re the same as the game I played lol and right here you’re watching the tapes in the “office” next to the master bedroom 😂 I wondered in the game I played why there’s so many items that are similar to other items that I can’t collect. Like you have to grab tons of stuff to craft weapons and keys… backpack and all that kinda stuff but there will be similar plastic boxes that you can grab them all in the cabinet except random ones… but seeing this house now with all the boxes I couldn’t grab still on the shelf.. it makes sense that they’re like stock boxes or whatever so it’s why they don’t work like the others. None of this matters to you or anyone else but just thought it was random and my mini revaluation.. ong im still typing… okay end rant 😂
