Among Ashes is a first-person horror game about a haunted videogame and the disturbing story behind its creation.
It’s a stormy night in the early 2000s and your friend has sent you a link to a horror game that he found online: Night Call.
But as you play, strange things start happening in your apartment.
Something is terribly wrong with this game.
Immerse yourself in the unique experience of playing a first-person horror game inside another first-person horror game.
In the retro-styled Night Call, you will explore an old manor, solve puzzles and fight off the terrifying monsters that have infested its labyrinthian halls.
In the real world, however, you’ll be haunted by the dark entities that have latched on to this strange game, as you try to unravel the mystery behind Night Call and its enigmatic creator.
Among ashes the truth remains.
Uncover it, or you may not survive the night.

Great game aside, those status messages on the messenger chat display were 100% accurate honestly. The status message filled with lyrics, emojis, the "witty" quotes from movies or something about being drunk or just full emo status. If Mark ends up sending you a wink and it jump scares you this will be 10/10 😂

I'm getting big Clive Barker's Undying vibes in the manor and it's inhabitants. This was really, really good. Damn, as I was starting to think if the dev made this good of a game 'inside the game' why even bother with the game itself? Then the game opens up.

Something about the sound design wrt the zombies (especially the one in the apron) really creeped me out. Love it! Definitely want to see more; this game has the right balance of nods to classic horror and fun ideas.

Pretty impressed by this game, I have to admit I'm a little jealous by it, cause believe it or not one of my possible game project ideas is something similar. Only you where playing one of those early internet Horror Flash adventure games on some strange website rather then downloading and playing a haunted 3D RE Inspired game.

Normally none of these games are scary for me watching. But somehow, having the vase break in the hallway when the ghost mugged you in game was sincerely unsettling.

Reminds me of a older horror movie Where the plot is gamers Who find a mysterious game & have a Lan playing it. If They did in game - They die irl. Cuz the game is based in reality in some way.

Liked the way the game is build up, through pc tabs, chat and gaming. Nice games also. Loved the details in chatbox, behind names the descriptions of who they are basically😊. Look forward to full game, was a long demo. Wonder how big full game will be❤

Awesome demo. Can't wait to see the full game inside a game. I give it 8.7 Resident Dooms out of 10. :) The King, Stoker & Lovecraft references are a nice little tribute. As well as Lorelei, not sure if it was meant to be a reference to the game, but I thought of it as soon as I heard her say it. (That game is brilliant in my opinion. Dark, but brilliant)

The game within the game reminded me of 'The House of Hell,' a Fighting Fantasy book. Looks good so far. Hopefully, the full release won't tamper with the work done so far.

I thought that this was a very good start to the game. CJ is very good once again with his commentary as he is playing it and the reactions sound very genuine. I enjoy listening to games like this or you have to explore and there are different characters to interact with, even if they are voiced by AI voices. This is a great start and I am definitely looking forward to hearing the full game played out and it’s entirety and I am very curious to know what happens in the real world as it were outside of the game that the main character is playing.
