It is substantially harder for khabib to hold people down in the middle of the cage as opposed to the fence this is because he uses the fence to get you down, Ties up your outside arm, flattens you out then elevates your feet or hooks them so they can’t move. This way his opponent only has 1 free arm. However away from the cage he’s unable to tie up his opponents legs and 1 of their arms making it hard to hold them down

Yeah i agree Chael. One thing that’s always been great about each time these guys are going to fight is that Tony has never looked intimidated, he’s always has had the same calmness after having to study Khabib. So yeah , it’s because he’s spent his life having answers for this particular opponent, he doesn’t see him as the scary champ because he’s stood in his face long before that. Tony knows he’s the guy who can stop 3-4 of the things that Khabib has to do to get to that place of control and to throw a monkey wrench of surprise. Tony also is a master on his back and the master of these surprise squirrelly moves that leave people in shock/frustrated for a second. If Khabib gets frustrated he’s done, if he is stopped in his steps of the ingredients he needs to do what he always does then he becomes prey for Tony. Tony is winning a lot and is doing all sorts of different stuff and we will see more because he has answers for this opponent. There’s no better opponent for Tony for the belt than Khabib -Tony is designed for this. He also has a slight height advantage which I’ve always believed is 1 advantage anyone has along with any grappling skills on Khabib. And we know that is why Khabib cuts 3 divisions-he won’t dare go up against taller guys because wrapping the legs and reaching the face won’t work. I honestly think Khabib would be easy for Diaz standing and on the ground. I believe Tony shuts Khabib down and i also think Conor would take the rematch. You don’t have to be an amazing grappler to beat him. Striking can take out a grappler. We forget Ronda , but Rondas head wasn’t in it either. She got stopped by 2 strikers but, then Meisha goes and beats Holly, we know Ronda beat Meisha oh yeah twice! And off the top of my head there were at least 2 opponents who beat Amanda that Ronda beat. So point is Tony has everything you would need to be Khabib and yeah you can be a great striker and take out a great grappler and that will be Conor if Tony doesn’t do it. Bye Bye Khabib hide location!

It does seem that way sometimes lol. He also mentions every time he talks about Khabib that Khabib lost a round to McGregor. Which, I'll be honest, I have watched that fight 3 times and if he did lose that one round it was close and even debatable IMO. I didnt have Connor winning any of the rounds. But I'm not a professional judge I suppose.

don't be naive.. he could beat him standing. the elbows in the bottom would make khabib uncomfortable in theory but khabib is not a wet blanket he's arguably the best at doing transitions on the bottom so don't expect him to sit there and wait for Ferguson to kill him there.. after all we never saw khabib bleed in the UFC. he knows too well how to protect himself. . Ferguson could win i just find it ridiculous winning this way.
