This man is a machine. An actual machine. He has made a passing interest in chess into one of my main hobbies in less than six months. Witty, insightful and damn enjoyable to watch. Not to mention his relentless upload schedule, if you haven’t subscribed yet, do it. He deserves the love.

@@andresv.8880 I dislike Rosen; my favorite commentator is Levy. Agadmator is ennoying because it is always exactly the same format, no creativity. Besides, at not even 2000 ELO, Agadmator is a lousy chess player.

@@jansnauwaert1785 Found the chess elitist. Shut up, you're probably U1400, you have no business calling Agadmator a "lousy chess player". He was a huge part of the chess renaissance here on the internet and he deserves all the praise he gets and more.
@georgebrantley776
@georgebrantley776 2 жыл бұрын
@@jansnauwaert1785 Skill in playing chess is near orthogonal to skill in presenting chess. He has a script (or at least a skeleton or some sort) planned out ahead of time, he has analysis done ahead of time with all the key points ready, and he communicates these things in a clear and easy-to-understand manner. He is the quintessential analysis presenter. It's fine if you don't like pure analysis--since you prefer Levy it's pretty clear you want more commentary. But at least be balanced in your review of Agadmator for what it is, rather than what you want it to be.

You missed that Kasparov stopped playing the KID just a few years prior due to Kramnik dismantling it with the Bayonet attack. A testament to how strong Kramnik was at preparation to neuter two of Kasparov’s favorite openings with both white and black.

Hikaru initially drew me to the chess community. But Levy is why I stayed over the past 6 months. He is a down to Earth human-being, humorous, and frankly a challenge to others pushing run-of-the-mill videos in the chess community. He addresses it from a level of depth that the beginner player can quickly pick up on and reference, due to a high-level of rapport and people skills. And I always catch myself grinning at his brand of exaggerated and recurring comedic themes (even occasionally a "hahahaha", etc.) Love ya man, thanks for helping me get through the past year, I went back to college! I only wished I would have been here and taking chess up sooner.
