You mean a wildly famous DIRECTOR? I mean, yeah, this isn’t Herzog’s first time acting, but he’s mostly known as a director, and for narrating his own documentaries (such as ”Grizzly Man”). As for the music, it’s by Ludwig Göransson, who got his break as the composer on all six seasons of ”Community”. He has produced pretty much everything Donald Glover’s done since (as Childish Gambino). Plus, Ludwig went to USC with Ryan Coogler and has scored all of his movies, winning the Oscar for ”Black Panther”.

The funny thing about the Sith is the whole reason they implemented the rule of two was out of self preservation, any real Sith governemnt was full of so much backstabbing and betrayal and assassination that eventually everyone would end up dead. So they made this rule basically meaning once a student got powerful enough, it was expected that they would eventually betray and kill their master and take on a new apprentice to teach the Dark Side to, and the cycle would continue. One could argue that this doesn't really solve the problem as much as minimize it, but hey the Sith just don't have the best ideas when it comes to conflict resolution, go figure, lol.
@yannym46052 жыл бұрын
And at the end of the day the Sith, very wisely, don't even follow the "Rule of Two", because if there are only two, and both are killed, or the apprentice is killed and the master is too old to really train a new one, then that's it for the Sith Order. So what you end up having is a master with an apprentice and multiple secret apprentices, and each of those apprentices eventually getting multiple secret apprentices themselves as they prepare to kill their master. So there's never only two. There's usually a dozen or two Sith hanging about due to all the secret apprentices.

Genuinely so excited to watch you experience this show! Dave Filoni is essentially royalty in the Star Wars community, along with Jon. The are responible for creating the animated shows. Clone Wars, Rebels ect. The mandalorians are a warrior race who were 'purged' much like the Uchia clan by the Empire. There was once a mandalorian / jedi war fought for hundreds of years so theyre very capable and have a lot of tools to help fight them. Pure Beskar cannot be sliced with a lightsaber so it makes for great amour!

Hey, Abi! "LONE WOLF AND CUB" Star Wars-style! There's a long-running manga (Japanese comics) from the '70's about a grizzled, disgraced Japanese swordsman and his infant son who travel the road undergoing a variety of adventures while seeking revenge against the clan that ruined them. The manga has been collected and translated for Western readers. Movies and a TV series in Japan have been based on it. This whole series is an homage to that story. Originally, Mandalorians were a non-human species called Taung. Over time, the martial philosophy of the original species was adopted by other species transforming a racial heritage into a cultural heritage. Mandalorians are predominantly human nowadays and are basically SPACE SPARTANS. They have fought with and against both the Jedi and the Sith throughout history as well as nearly dominated the galaxy on their own at one point under Mandalore the Great, an Alexander-like figure. During the Clone Wars, under Duchess Satine, they went through a pacifist phase. You've seen Mandalorian armor before worn by bounty hunter Jango Fett who served as the template for the clone army in the Prequel trilogy and worn by his unaccelerated clone "son", Boba Fett, who captured Han Solo in the Classic trilogy. You learn much more about Mandalorians in the animated "Clone Wars" TV series as well as watch young Boba grow to manhood. The BESKAR metal Mando is paid in advance and provides to the armorer is prized by Mandalorians because it's impervious to LIGHTSABER strikes. This show is set 5 years after the Empire was defeated in "Return of the Jedi". When Empires collapse, provincial governors and generals assume control of extant fragments. It happened to Alexander's Empire, to the Mongol Empire, to the Western Roman Empire, to Imperial India and to Dynastic China. Those regions of the galaxy not under the control of the New Republic are controlled by IMPERIAL REMNANTS. The client, played by Werner Herzog, seems to be a civilian Imperial of high rank. The inestimable Werner Herzog is an internationally acclaimed German documentarian and filmmaker! He shot the classic "Fitzcarraldo" in the Amazon jungle and actually hauled a ferryboat over a huge muddy ridge to get from one tributary of the Amazon to another enlisting the aid of hundreds of Amazonian Indians. He collaborated frequently with an insane hothead actor called Klaus Kinski who would stall production with fits of apoplexy! His documentaries are deeply humane and profound explorations of the bizarre and unusual ranging from life at Antarctic research stations to cave paintings to vulcanology to the career of ex-Russian Premier Gorbachev. He is a beloved figure in the cinematic world and is thought of as a very serious guy with a truly distinctive way of speaking. When he does the occasional acting role, it's always a treat to see this cerebral icon just cut loose! He fell in love with Baby Yoda and kept exhorting the cast and crew to "commit to the magic" of the puppetry! Lol. Did you recognize the creature that was like Jabba's cackling pet? I love the Kowakian monkey-lizard being roasted on a spit while a caged one watches! It's so mean. Nick Nolte brilliantly voiced the Blurrg-wrangling Ugnaught with his "I have spoken" catch-phrase. Ugnaughts are short, porcine tinkerers. You've seen them before in Cloud City working the smelter that almost turned Threepio's parts to slag in "Empire Strikes Back"! "Thor: Ragnarok" director Taika Waititi voiced IG-11, the assassin robot. He also directs the season finale. The music is by composer Ludwig Goransson who also provided the scores for "Creed", "Black Panther", "Venom" and "Tenet". The style of this series is modeled after a genre known as Spaghetti Westerns which were Italian oaters mostly shot in Spain with international casts in the '60's-'70's. These films were highly stylized, melodramatic and hyperviolent examples of an American genre refracted through European eyes. The three greatest practitioners were the three Sergios: Sergio Leone, Sergio Corbucci and Sergio Sollima. Clint Eastwood's Man with No Name trilogy ending with "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" was directed by Leone and is a classic of the genre. A KZbinr cut a trailer of "The Mandalorian" in the style of a Leone film calling it "IL MANDALORIANO"! It's absolutely hysterical. Check it out! Lucasfilm animation head responsible for "Clone Wars", "The Bad Batch" and "Rebels", "Mandalorian" co-producer and Lucas disciple Dave Filoni directed the series premiere. I highly recommend you watch the animated shows before Season 2 in order to fully appreciate it. Much of current live-action Star Wars is based on developments, characters and artifacts first seen in the animated shows.

I commented this on your New Hope reaction but I would like to add something. I highly recommend also checking out the animated series, especially Clone Wars and Rebels. Ideally before Mandalorian S2 and Book of Boba Fett, as Clone Wars and Rebels introduce a lot of characters and lore connected to those shows. They’re not necessary viewing, but they do make the viewing experience even better This is a bit of a daunting task, especially if you wanna get to S2 asap, as Clone Wars is 7 seasons and Rebels is 4. Clone Wars is an anthology show, so it definitely isn’t necessary to watch every single episode. There’s some episodes and arcs I consider necessary/essential viewing Rebels is a lot more of an interconnected story, following the same group for the whole show, so it’s preferable to watch all of it.

Some of Star Wars Legends content is movie closer to being current canon, including the fact that the Sith Rule of Two wasn't necessarily always the case. In Legends the Sith were a full faction with many members like the Jedi and in opposition. But current canon novels have starting referencing some of this including a Jedi - Sith war.

the way to calculate Yoda years is to divide the age by 10. So the child is like a 5 year old. He behaves more like a 3 year old, but I think that is due to experiencing trauma. Being 50 is interesting because that makes him the same age Vader would be or possibly up to one year older than Luke's father. In Return of the Jedi Yoda claims to be 900 nd in Empire he claims to be a Jedi for 800 years. That would probably put him at 85 - 90 in human years. Chewbacca is 200 in a New Hope and seems to be in the prime of his life. I'm less sure of wookie life expectancy but I think it is somewhere between 500-800 years. So his age is probably the equivelant of 25-35 years old, but coud be as high as 40. Maybe some one knows a more accurate ratio for wookiee age calculation.

The prequels started a long period of REALLY toxic fandom in Star Wars, spanning a good 20+ years. Year by year I could feel my childhood love of Star Wars just... fade. I liked some of the later movies, but all of it sparked such bile. sigh. This series helped reconnect me with that love; Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have such a deep and abiding respect and love for Star Wars, and this show has that passion and joy.
@joesoq2 жыл бұрын
i was a kid when the prequels were shown, i never understood the hate that the prequels got. rewatched them after i finished clone wars and rebels and sure there were bad dialogues, but the hate wasnt justified. true, favreau(mando) and filoni(the clone wars series/rebels) is healing this universe. you can see the love and respect they have by the small details that they pepper in these shows that its feel like a love letter to the undying fans.

A lot of people can't handle dislike in anything like a mature manner. I didn't like the prequels, and I have coherent, worked-out reasons for why. But I don't need to dump on every conversation about the movie or feel offended if somebody enjoyed them. Whatever, I didn't like them, moving on. But over the last few decades it seems fandoms have gotten SO toxic about dislike. Ugh. To everyone who liked the prequels: Great! I'm glad people had fun! Hugs all around!
