It definitely feels like this episode was setting up the wider reach of Gideon; it could be that Gideon did escape, but the New Republic haven't been willing to admit it. Poor Pershing probably was dealt with to make sure no one else had that knowledge. Can never be sure how truthful Gideon was being, but he told Din he didn't need Grogu anymore, maybe the research had progressed far enough that he didn't need Pershing either. Although it was only a small part of the ep, I loved the Din & Bo intro and outro sections, they're now both in the cult so what happens next in that journey?

I really like the contrast and parallels between Pershing and Bo Katan. Both once believed in their own goals, and both, in a way, “converted,” to something different, hence the the title, “The Convert.” Pershing was forcefully converted into the Republic, where as for Bo, she was given a choice to stay and follow the ways of the cult, or she can leave whenever she wishes. Anyway, I’m really glad we’re getting more screen time with the doctor and Gideon’s (maybe) former officer. Really builds up to his possible return as the shows antagonist. :)

Another masterpiece of a Mandalorian episode, best of the season so far which says a lot considering last week’s episode, another A+ for me. The opening sequence was FANTASTIC, the Imperial remnant are more of a threat than they’ve ever been. I LOVED exploring Pershing as a character, he is so captivating and one of the most complex of the show, I feel so bad for him man. His reason for cloning makes so much sense and it really had a great sense of the cloning debate in our reality today. Elia can piss off, I was liking her but the end made me really dislike her (AMAZING acting from Katy O’Brian). Coruscant never looked so beautiful, I think even more so than Andor, it just looked so BREATHTAKING. As a prequel fanboy, I approved. & I’m surprised that the Armorer is so chill and welcoming with Bo and Din now, Bo especially but I’m so glad she is. Hopefully, Bo can influence the Armorer to see beyond her ways. That was a beauty of an hour long episode, can’t wait for next week!

It reminds me of how Reva survived Vader stabbing her in her chest with his lightsaber. Also how did she get to occupy such a position of trust with the New Republic considering she’s ex Imperial and how does New Republic consider itself competent by sentencing him to this treatment without a trial so that he can defend himself? It was an ok episode. Totally noticed that Bo wasn't taking off her helmet now, and cool that at the end she joined up with the other Mandos. I liked seeing the TIE Interceptors and Bombers, but I hate that we didn't see any kind of Imp ship in orbit that deployed them. It felt like a slap in the face seeing Coruscant in Rebel hands, and right when I saw that Lieutenant that was on Gideon's ship, I knew her "rehabilitation" was a ploy. Pershing knows too much, and is a threat that needed to be dealt with. She's still an Imp, just undercover. Also, it was interesting to hear Pershing''s supervisor mention the decommissioning of the Alliance Fleet, which could play into any future Thrawn related action. Yet, the fleet remained fairly small even when the First Order attacked.

They tend to do some deeper things with the plotting, I’m not a hundred percent sure that she is an imperial plant. A different storytelling choice is that she really was acting in the interests of the New Republic, but has broken from Gideon’s by any means necessary mentality. She probed and tested Pershing to see how easily he could be manipulated into retaking up his forbidden research, and it took like two days for him to flip, so rather than putting him through whatever rehabilitation method they were going to try, she just fried his brains, so there is no chance for him to be flipped again. Maybe her statement about feeling a need to make things right for all the wrong she did is genuine, but as was hinted at, she was a child recruit, she has been taught a certain way to get things done her entire life.

@Elena Dinu thank you for your comment, but I don't think so. Because if Bo-Katan was using her family's ancestral home as a rowling point and home bace for the stolen fleet, then the fleet would patrol the system and chances are an Imperial bace would've been found by Bo-Katan's forces a long time ago, whether it was hidden on not. The Imps need supplies. Now, if the Imps wanted a Baces in the mandalorian system to keep an eye on it, they would either build a station and orbit of mandalor or occupy Castle Kriss and build satellites throughout the system. But the Imps intentionally bombed the Castle bossibly, learning that her forces had melted away just to get back at Bo-Katan for all the trouble she cause them. Thank you again for your comment.

Unpopular opinion here but.....I don't believe Bo-Katan can be trusted. I KNEW she wasn't going to tell what she saw. Din has no interest in leading the Mandalorians. I think he simply wants to belong again so he could raise Grogu as one. And though she may be able to yield the Dark Saber....she hasn't yet proven she's worthy of it...simply by how secretive and manipulative she's been since day one. She's part of the group now but she doesn't believe in their creed. She saw the Mythosaur but she only sees it as a means to control this group and get them to follow her. She'd say and do anything if it meant she could be in charge and lead with the sword. Even if it meant faking her belief and adherence to the creed. I honestly don't put it past her to use Grogu to manipulate Din if it meant being in charge. And I don't believe she'll be the one to tame the Mythosaur. I think it'll be Din and in some way Grogu. We saw how he tamed Rancor in Boba Fett. Maybe I'm wrong about Bo-Katan. I'll be happy to be wrong. But I don't think I am.

Great so Bo-Katan has now joined the cult and no more seeing Katee Sackhoff's face either so now she can join all the other Mandalorian's who act stiff and have no personality. I just hope we see the real Bo by the end of the season but i have a feeling it's going to end with her challenging Din for the dark saber and leadership of the Mandalorians.

I can already tell this episode is going to be very divisive amongst fans and casual viewers of the series. I've already got some pretty strong negative opinions of this season so far

I think the dr Pershing stuff went on 20 minutes too long, that could have been done in 15-20 minutes not 47

Really wanted to like this episode but the abrupt doctor story took me out of my excitement. The pacing, acting, and overall execution of his story bored me. By the time we got to Din and Bo I was over the episode. I get what they were going for but it left me cold. Hoping the next episode gets back to what made me excited with episode 2

This episode really made me want to get strapped into a Mindflayer machine myself and dial it up to the highest setting to forget this episode as a whole

Agreed, "doctor" plot was very predictable and slow( but unlike Andor, there are no high-quality dialogues that can maintain my interest)

2 minutes into the Doctors story, something in my head told me to scrub through and look at the previewer. I was instantly annoyed that his story took up majority of the episode. I didn’t care because I knew he was fucked from the start. We honestly didn’t need to spend that much time with him or the imp loyalist chick.

This New Republic is dystopian as fuck, I think it's worse than the Empire
