Someone online said that in the olden days “spies” referred to scouts/explorers. That’s where “spyglass” comes from. I’m pretty sure the theory that the Mando’s that went down to mandalore were the titular spies, scouting out the planet.

The spies were actually all the Mandalorians going down to scout the planet. Spies also can be another term for scouts.

the "spies" was in a Biblical reference, when Moses asked for men of each tribe to scout , or "spy" . Twelve men came forward - also twelve Mandalorians :)

I found it quite interesting that Grogu was peering into the "Living Waters" with an out-stretched hand and the camera dives below the surface and we see the Mythosaur open its eye... almost like Grogu sensed the Mythosaur, connected to its mind, and said "Wake up!" Loved this finale!!!

That was definitely a connection we saw, in my estimation... The Mythosaur definitely seemed to respond to Din Grogu.

The spies could refer to a bunch of different things as many people have explained in he comments section... however, I'm still pretty sure that there's literally a couple of spies. Just, not for Gideon, but rather other members of the Shadow Council and/or even Thrawn. I think it's one of those things that we'll end up looking back on in a couple of years in retrospect and be able to appreciate what the title means with the knowledge we have then... but I could be wrong lol.

I always watch the New Rockstars video recaps of anything Star Wars and he goes into last episode's "spies" theme as actually a Biblical reference the writers were trying to borrow such as, the Twelve Spies were Israelite chieftains from the Twelve Tribes sent to scout the Promised Land by Moses, much as Bo-Katan is uniting the Mandalorian sects and scouting Mandalore with Din Djarin and friends.

The "Spies" title from Chapter 23 not only referred to Elia Kane but also to the Mandalorians that scouted the planet. The Mandalorians scouting the planet is taken from the biblical tale of the "12 spies"

Spies: biblical usage for the word (scouts for Moses) instead of the contemporary one that was a red herring. The Dark Saber: I'm glad that it's gone. As traditional as it was to Mandalore culture, it was also hurting it and holding them back from achieving more than repeating cycles of survival. No need for further cameos. This ended just fine. In case the impending writer's strike gets in the way, or other things won't allow for it, then things finish with closure. Otherwise, we have a great place to start the "new" father and son adventures. Romance: I can see Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze.... Great reaction.

Why not assume the spies where the members of the the dark conceal and I enjoy the final being the madalorians taking their home world on their own. Showing the madalorians taking down a superior force was epic and shows how great warriors they are ... I never thought they had any spy amongst them which ends up to be true ...

No Mando spies... That title referred to Elia Kane and the Imperials in the holo meeting who set the trap for the Mandos. If any Mandalorians could've been considered "spies", then the only thing that fits the bill would be the Mando scouting party who "spied" things out on the ground. There were no Mandalorian traitors. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Season 4 is already written, and Jon and Dave are working on season 5. I do think that the mythosaur is the reason the living waters have the properties they do.

Gideon was such a simpleton in the end. He didn't realize the darksaber being destroyed is not a good thing for him. Killing the owner of the darksaber was a way for outsiders to gain control over Mandalore, this is off the table now, same as the constant threat of infighting for it. Other than that it was a very cool weapon indeed. I think Bo will take up gardening!

I wish people weren't so hard on this season being a Star Wars fan is weird. I ADORE this season even with all of it's flaws. Best parts for me were definitely Bo and Grogu together and seeing him grow smarter and more powerful.

If there was a global catastrophe and you are in North America, then something happened in China and there were no newspapers, radio, TV, and you were one of maybe 100 survivors would you know what was happening 8,000 miles away?

Yah Mando could use some romance. The Spies wasn't used as a modern term. The Mandalorian scouts were the spies loodely based on a biblical story.

So they basically sidelined and emasculated the main character (whose face we haven't seen all year) in his own series. Could it have got any worse?
