I could be wrong but I think that maybe the fragment of Beskar armor was planted. The covert on Navarro was defeated by Imperial troops, so they had access to Mandalorian armor. Right now, the Mandalorians are beginning to come out of hiding and working to reunite their people. They finally have a place that they can call home where they no longer have to worry about running and hiding. Throwing suspicion on them for the escape of Moff Gideon could potentially be very damaging to them. Also, it's very interesting to me that the former Imperial officer actively worked to direct the New Republic away from helping Navarro against the pirates. It makes me wonder who, or what, she's protecting out there.

My theory is that Gideon is actually living on Mandalore, it is probably his main base of operations. The same base that the TIE interceptors seen in chapter 19 came from. As for why would Mandalorians help him. I'm guessing that Clan Saxon, the group that ruled Mandalore under the empire, is still alive, and serving Gideon. They may even be the ones who are protecting his base. If so it is going to be interesting when the clans try to go home. Plus, if I remember correctly, from the Aftermath novels, the pirate nation's leadership operates out of a Super Star Destroyer, which would be amazing to see in live action, since we haven't seen a Super Star Destroyer in live action since Return of the Jedi.

My thought with the chunk of Beskar on the shuttle at the end of the episode was that it was a frame job by the imperials who rescued Gideon. If the New Republic blames the Mandalores for the attack then Gideon’s two worst enemies could be fighting each other leaving him free to conduct his plans.

I think The Armorer at first didn't believe it, but then she keeps watching Bo-Katan in this episode being such a skilled war leader and how naturally others follow her again in successful missions, and how despite being an outsider she respected 'the way' and was so dedicated to rescuing one of them. So I think seeing all that and the mythosaur, she came to the conclusion she would be the one able to reunite all mandalorians. All this time, they've just been surviving as reclusive, aimless little group in the shadows and suddenly they have someone that commands that respect and whips them up into shape as the proud warrior culture they once were. I am SO excited for this storyline above all. After all the decades Bo has spent trying to restore Mandalore in every imaginable way, trying anything and everything and losing so much, I would love it for her to finally succeed and see her people united again.

The Ahmed Best appearance from last episode could still have been a nod to Jar Jar Binks, The ship they escaped on was A Nubian Class starship that was used by Senators of Naboo. As far as I know there would only have been about 3 Senators from Naboo on Corascant at the time, Chancellor Palpatine who had just emerged as the Emperor so it's unlikely him who would've saved Grogu. Padme Amadala who at the time was on the other side of town watching the Jedi Temple burn from her apartment as we saw in ROTS and the last Senator serving at that point was Representative Binks!!!! With regards to the mystery Mandalorians who freed Moff Gideon, there is actually reference to it in the opening credits with the Star was Logo. There is the Mandalorian clan that joined the empire in the animated series that was loyal to palpatine (the guy whose brother died, the "Super Commandos" leader, Tiber Saxon) - they wore white mandalorian armor fashioned after storm troopers - his people were still around and could be with Thrawn/Moff G' - so it could have been those peeps - or, it could be Bo's former friends who left her working as mercs - or it could be Moff G's men - they took all that bescar when they bombed Mandalore - they had a lot of bescar related stolen stuff - so it could be them too - heck - it could be dark troopers with bescar stuff too - lots of options.

I cannot remember if you reacted to the Andor series (I do not think you did), but if not, you will really love that show if you love the political side of things. Also, you would love the Star Wars Bloodline novel, the Star Wars: Leia, Princess of Alderaan novel and maybe even possibly the Padme trilogy of novels by E.K. Johnston. The Aftermath novels also get into some of the politics. If you read (or hear the audio CD) the Bloodline novel, it mentions Leia's growing dislike of The New Republic and opposition to Mon Mothma. This show, as far back as season 1, episode 1, and now, this episode, seems to be laying the groundwork for The New Republic's coming failures, which makes way for factions of The Empire making a return and then The First Order. BTW, if you are interested, regarding your love for Jar Jar, the Aftermath novels mention Jar Jar's eventual fate on where he ended up after the prequels and original trilogy. I had no hatred towards Jar Jar, personally, nor the actor and find it incredibly sad that part of the toxic fanbase can take their hatred of a character that far to then hate on the actors themselves. The same thing happened with the kid who played child Anakin and Daisy Ridley got a lot of hate as well and Hayden Christensen got a lot of hate also. But I do admit that I did not like the Jar Jar character.

There goes the pirate ship. Was hoping that the Mandalorians would had captured it but then again considering how easy it was taken down, then it wasn't worth keeping it. As for Moff Gideon, since when did a shrapnel of Beskar armor been found, usually it's an intact whole piece and not something that could be cutoff and not entirely been blown up. Considering that the only other groups of Mandalorians that knows Moff Gideon got captuered are Bo Kataan's crew and they ditched her after taking over Gideon's ship. It's likely that they might had taken him if they did intercept the shuttle. I don't think that the First Order Sequel trilogy is going to happen if Grand Admiral Thrawn returns. IMO, with all of the changes in Disney, maybe there's hope that it will steer back into the Lucas approved novel series timeline. In resolving the sequel trilogy and why the First Order has a secret fleet of ISD with superlasers, then it's because there's a much greater threat than just several rebellious worlds that can easily be taken out by a single Eclipse class ship's superlaser. It's more likely that the superlasers are needed for the dozens of Yuuzhan Vong's Worldships and the plotline for this got messed up by internal Disney/LucasFilms politics for making a quick buck.

I just finished re-listening to the Thrawn Ascendancy books, which are the CANON prequels to the CANON Thrawn trilogy with the empire. The Big Bad, through all of them, though not always named, was the Grysk. The number 1 Grysk method was to use others to disablize those they wished to conquer. When Thrawn left the Chiss, they were nearly in a state of civil war, and even after a massive battle with the Grysk, none of the Chiss had ever seen one. Thrawn doesn’t use others - mostly because of the margin of error that adds. I’ve always though Gideon was too Ambitious (and therefor WAY too unreliable to be trusted) for Thrawn to use, BUT, he’s exactly the kind of catspaw the Grysk would use. I’m sure they’re influencing the Republic in their head-in-the-sand tactics, and trying to keep the most effective fighting force left (the Mandalorians) at odds and ununited is certainly like them. I think the Grysk are responsible for trying to make it look like Mandalorians are responsible for taking Gideon. I also think they’re responsible for making the Magistrate think Thrawn was back & dealing with her to bring back the Empire. Both to keep Thrawn busy, and because he’s a/the threat to them! Also, I totally caught Ahmad Best last week - and then totally missed Zeb & the directors this week! And I watched it twice!

The thing with Mandalorians is, atleast in legends content, they have ALWAYS sought out the struggle. Mandalore, the planet was wild and unruly when the First Mandalore came to it. They tamed the planet and the Mythasaur, and became rulers of that planet. In SWTOR2 the Mandalore of that time took all the mandalorians to Duxn, a planet where the flora and fauna were deadly. The went here to hide, and to train. So these mando's living in an inhospitable world, its in line with "The Way." it looks silly to us, and I agree they should have some early warning systems, but This is the Way.

Mandalore isn't the actual name of their home planet. It was a title given by the people to the planet because of what it means. Mandalore is a title of their culture, like king. To retake Mandalore, means to retake the title and mantle of Mandalore the Great (their version of a messiah or great uniter), meaning that most likely the amorer meant the Mandalorian people. To retake their heritage and culture. The interesting thing, is that historically, he/she who holds the darksaber traditionally gains the title of Mandalore the Great. So technically, if we're going by really old tradition, right now, Din Djarin is Mandalore the Great, the uniter of Mandalore. tl-dr: Mandalore is not a planet. It is a people. It has always been a people.

This was all talked about in this episode. Also, What happened to those baby birds? I guess the writers didn't think about that or forgot and hope you aren't paying attention. This shit is so god damned irritating.

Bskar is basically impervious yet there is a fragment in the wall. Lightsabers/blasters cant cut it so 'what' broke it? Did someone bring a smelter with them? hehe ~ I think it was planted (we know the Empire has bskar) and we all know that sneaky elia seems to be able to manipulate many to gain intel and obviously contacted someone about Moth's flight; maybe she even had the flight classified. Maybe GAT? We know someone very Imperial is around; member all those Imperial fighters? Curious to which path they will take this.

I think it means Bo won’t take the darksaber from Din but from Gideon instead, by so saving the covert or Grogu and Din, bringing the covert under her leadership.

Mauls old faction, the night owls, any other faction that is hiding in the galaxy could have gotten a huge amount of imperial credits for breaking Gideon out. So many theories so little time.

Dos Cavazos, It is rumored (with good 'authority') that K. Kennedy didn't want another 'Star Wars' Show with a strong Male lead (she has even "weakened" Din and pushed him out of 'the spotlight' {in favor of Bo-Katan & The Armorer; I like them both} in S.3, of his "own" Show; before Favrau(sp?) threatened to "walk", if she {K.K} had any more "say" over S.3). Favrau had-to quickly do re-writes and "shelve" his Strong & Ruthless Boba Fett scripts, for a "reformed nice-guy" overshadowed by Fennic (the continued Fem agenda to weaken "men" in media / real-life ---> Socialistic Control), in order-to please K.K. Then, Someone above K.K decided that the 'absence' of Grogu from S.3 (as the "Plan" intended; by possibly cutting between scenes / eps. of Luke training Grogu, and Din having adventures without Grogu... for a Season or two?) would cause "harm" to their last 'successful' Brand, even more-so than forced & clunky re-writes. So, 'Mandalorian' S. 2.5 ("The Book of Boba Fett") was made; using the first 2(?) eps. of S.3; adding MORE "bait-&-Switches" caused by K.K's control over / in woke Disney. "IF" S.2 of The Book of Boba Fett is made, we may get the actual Storytelling that was lost to K.K's oversight; because hopefully K.K will no longer work at Disney (or anywhere!) by then. An interesting theory regarding Grogu: Dave Filoni(sp?) intends to replace Sideus with the much "Darker & More Powerful" (and long-lived) DarkSide adult Grogu (who is stronger than Sith; by using Dark & Light). His "Fall" to the DarkSide (like Anakin before him) will s.l.o.w.l.y take place over 'many' Seasons / Years of seasons/Shows (the Fall, cemented into place at Din's eventual death; thus, Grogu would wield the DarkSaber... which seems to "like" to be used in Anger, not peace). Grogu is already on that 'path', now that he has no one that can prevent / discipline him from doing so (Luke, Ahsoka, & Other Jedi / Force Wielders 'are' required to keep sensitives in / on The LightSide, as they enter adolescence while using their Powers). Grogu has Force Choked, injured & thrown around StormTroopers, and stolen things despite Din's stern words / actions; plus, Din has shown him that it is alright to K*ll those that attempt to harm "you". Even Yoda (Grogu's father?) had-to accept his DarkSide tendencies (see "The Clone Wars" S.7) to keep himself from being Corrupted by it; And, Yoda was a FULLY trained Jedi Master by then, at ~860y/o(?). But... Disney will 'most likely' prevent that from happening to their "cute" 'cash-cow' (even though DARTH VADER 'is' the Most Loved cinematic Villain of All Time). The Disney Board of Directors / Investors are "in-it" for FAST profits, not the long-haul, like Dave & John (Filoni & Favrau). The Investors cannot "see" that Dark Grogu would outsell all other toys / merchandise (over the long-haul) if "he" s.l.o.w.l.y changed his character, over many years (adding to the growing collection), to become the most "Evil" Mandalorian Dark Lord which the Galaxy has Never known; conquering that Galaxy (using PURPLE, lightsaber wielding Mandos) and in search of the next closest one to have a "new" Star Wars with (thus, no more writing constraints relating to the Past Lore). [That Story-line could evolve and play-out for decades of entertainment to come (in real time), through Movies, Shows, etc. I know that I would watch them all, 'if' they are based in LOGIC and are expertly written by Merit-based writers and filmed by the BEST directors & proven Movie Makers.] Thank you, and have a great day/evening, Kacee & Anthony. Sincerely, Zragonal (3/29/23)

Not really corrupt. The New Republic, after I did some research, they’re ignorant & complacent in their duties just like the Old Republic. Meaning they don’t take these Warlords seriously. They’re repeating the same mistake as the Old Republic. However, only some New Republic Senators joined Centrists that operate as the Empire then later joined the 1st Order. Centrists existed 7 years before the 1st Order declared war. So late period. This episode so far indicates this is early period which is 25 years before the 1st Order based on the fact of Moff Gideon’s activities.

In my opinion, Bo is threading the same path John Walker did in FATWS, she assumes that she will be the "Mandalore" that will unite all Mandalorians based on her presumptions on what the armorer told her though likely it would not be the case. Also, the show established that Beskar has been pillage by the Empire and was used as currency that was shown in the first season that Din even receive as payment and was used to build his armor. It was not necessarily Mandalorians that broke out Moff Gideon but rather a revenge ploy and diversion for those who found the wreckage, wasting their efforts in a would be wild goose chase. The "Pirate" title wasn't just referring to the marauders that attacked Navarro, but also the mystery rescuers that helped Gideon escape is either posing as Mandalorians with a planted evidence or Bo Katan's mutineer crew as gun for hire for the Empire. Remember what Elia Kane said to Carson Teva at the beginning "it often takes a new perspective before one is able to see the light" and in my opinion she wasn't referring to herself.

I think your on the right track. Gar Saxxon was loyal to the Empire during the Rebellion. So it is very possible those loyal to Saxxon could have done it.
