One of the things that made me love the Mando in this was when he was fighting the creature on the planet. He was getting tossed around, beaten up, his gear got wrecked. And even though he was battered, bruised, and was probably gonna die. He stood up, pulled a knife and was willing to take it head on. And of course that he was quick witted enough to save the baby from a charge even after being knocked away. He is not an invulnerable bad-ass. He is a tough as nails bad-ass who is willing to take the hits and even risk death to get what he needs done. 20:20 Even though Jedi aren't supposed to have relations, they are some that have been exempt from that rule. A good example is Ki-Adi-Mundi( the big head guy with a blue lightsaber that died in ROTS during the purge). Ki-Adi-Mundi was exempt because his species's population was very low and he needed to help populate. I'm not sure how many wives he had but he had plenty of kids and was a terrible father due to Jedi not having emotions
@geebuttersnaps91225 жыл бұрын
First, thank you this is exactly what I came to say but the reason he was exempt is because his species is almost all female I don't remember the ratio but male's are very rare and the men tend you have like 8 wives to keep the species going.

I'm loving the direction they're taking with the Mandalorian. So far, it's impressive and although I've been fine with new directions and thought-provoking answers to the mythos, you tend to get too caught into stuff that you find at the bottom of the rabbit hole. This has a simple charm that the movies often forget to capture (and no, not just the new ones), so this breath of fresh air is quite welcome. The element of relatability in the show lies in the focused simplicity applied to the mythos (and not the mythos themselves) and every chapter has something to look forward, but the struggles are the best part of it. Some people also have said the comedy dilutes the seriousness, but I say "you don't know what you're talking about"... I mean, comedy is used very sparingly and my god does it work. I often giggle to small things like the fact the Mandalorian has to cooperate with the Jawas and it's not fun at all for him. The characters are very likeable as well and the visuals are even better. So far, every chapter is a well-rounded adventure that makes 30 minutes feel like an hour (which seems nice in this case) and it makes me want to follow the rest of the journey. I'm definitely impressed! They made SW bounty hunting super fun to watch in a tv format.

Love the review as always Want to point out something you said that was incorrect Jango Fett is/was a Mandalorian he was 100% embedded with the culture (You could argue that the day he chose to be a bounty hunter he sorta gave up the Mandalorian ways but that’s hugely debatable IMO) He taught the clones the mandalorian ways and even the clones battle song about brothers is directly ripped off from the mandalorian one Jango Fett’s lore is pretty badass and I highly recommend it to anyone interested Boba Fett on the other hand is just a bounty hunter But the point of all this is that Jango is no poser, he’s quite the opposite. He’s a badass mandalorian And yes this is canon Edit: the huge debate and why people say Jango is not a “true Mandalorian” is because he was not born on Mandalore. What 80% of people don’t know is to be Mandalorian is not to be a race or species, it’s a culture Mandalore isn’t even the original planet of the Mandalores, Coruscant was. So saying Jango Fett isn’t Mandalorian is like saying I can’t be Buddhist because I’m white and I was born in America Jango Fett was raised in the Mandalorian culture and fought for them I don’t know how anyone can be more mandalorian than that Edit: Edit: to put it into perspective, Jango Fett was a true mandalorian for about 30ish years of his life and a bounty hunter for 10ish years so it’s up to you to say what he was and wasn’t But IMO he was, he may not of died still following through with 100% Mandalorian ways but for most of his life he did and fought with mandalorian brothers

The Jedi had specific exceptions to the rule of no relationships especially when the species survival depended on it. I believe the Jedi Ki Adi Mundi was allowed to reproduce because his species was rare

Well, more specifically because Lucas didn't think up the celibacy thing until Clones.

@@yarpen26 Well, no, because the backstory of Ki-Adi-Mundi and his race was invented after the Prequels, so that one came after Lucas thought about the Celibacy Rule.

@@Comintern1919 No it wasn't. Ki-Adi-Mundi's backstory was established in the Prelude to Rebellion series of the Star Wars Republic cycle, released in 1998.

@@yarpen26 Yes. One year before the first Episode. 4 years after Lucas began writing Episode one. I find it more than reasonable to assume that one year before the release and one year after the shooting of Episode 1 started, the movie which established the Old Jedi Order and their ways, the idea of Celibacy was already part of them. So my point still stands. The backstory of Ki-Adi-Mundi was established when Lucas already realized the Old Jedi Order and their ideals. EDIT: I just checked, the Comic was released late December 1998, so not even a full year before release of Episode I, about 5 months before.

@@Comintern1919 No, your point falls flat on its face. Your "assumptions" do not change the fact that Lucas didn't object to any notion of Jedi being married and in relationships until literally five minutes before Clones started rolling. He simply couldn't think up a better pretext for Anakin to turn evil so he conjured up the forbidden love thing, hence the celibacy. Other autohrs actually had to retcon it later down the line, including Ki-Adi-Mundi's backstory.

Mando on a bad day, yet he just keeps going. I like how his resolve is made of Beskar steel!
