Bo katan was such a real one this episode. Bitter about her situation and abandoned by her people for not being the wielder of the darksaber but she didn't even blink when it came to saving Din. The Armorer also did mention back in Season 1, that if ever the Mythosaur appears once more, it will herald a new age/era for Mandalore and its people. Not to mention that Kuill told Din that the Mandalorians rode the Mythosaurs while training him to ride bluurgs. Season 1 alone foreshadows this very moment. Plus the entire episode is basically showing Din taking both a walk and leap of faith. Not only he did have faith on going to Mandalore despite what everyone said, he did have faith in both Grogu and Bo when he is in dire need. I think Bo Katan is realizing that Din’s faction of Mandalorians have more faith in the Creed and respect for Mandalorian culture than the people she wants to follow her. They only care about following power, while Din’s faction want to follow a true Mandalorian as Mandalore. Seeing the Mythosaur, I think she realizes that Din is the best chance at reuniting her people under one banner as Mandalore.
@Didusny Жыл бұрын
I agree 100%, I think in the next episode Bo will take a step back after realizing this and will want to teach Din how to use the darksaber and help him unite the Mandalorians as well. The perfect scene would be when Bo and Din fly to Armorer, Din says he wants to unite their people and Armorer asks if he learn how to wield The Darksaber, then Bo cuts in "I'll teach him", Din asks if she's sure and Bo replies " This is the way", that would be amazing. The idea that Bo and Din become a couple and will rule together is awesome to, Din with Darksaber, Bo with Mythosaur. In this scenario Grogu will have a Mom, only positives. 😄

As soon as Bo read that plauge I knew a Mythosaur was going to be in the water. So freaking cool. And I believe Bo's faith was somewhat restored this episode. Seeing Dins commitment to the creed, then seeing the mythosaur, I think she see's a future for mandalore now. Before she thought that future wasn't possible but now she see's it. And I wonder if Dinn will seek guidance from Bo about the darksaber and how to wield it. Cause she does with ease. Effortlessly, looking like a pro. Mabey she helps him get better with it. I don't think she will be the villain this season. I see this season going into Mandalorian lore and history and ultimately bringing the clans and different sects together finally. Long shot considering the history of civil war between them. There were brief periods of peace but not long term. I hope we learn more about the curse, and if there is one. But I hope we see Mandalore and the Mandalorians come together. And rebuild the planet slowly. Under the leadership of Dinn the wielder of the darksaber.

I really do love how Bo Katan is difficult to read. As in, it's impossible to know what her intentions are from one moment to the next. She's cynical and brooding, even antagonistic at times, but when the chips are down she won't hesitate to help an ally, even one whom she has scoffed at and insulted. This could be a new character arc for her and at this point it could go many different directions.
@ianshear8884 Жыл бұрын
She will defeat mando and take the sabre, then mando will accidentally ride the mythosaur and finally she has to accept mandos light sabre
@AceSpadeThePikachu Жыл бұрын
@@ianshear8884 Maybe, but I'm hoping it won't be so clear-cut as that. The whole show has been building up to the moment where the characters reconcile with themselves and each other and break free from rigid tradition. Din Djarin took off his helmet to both rescue and then say Goodbye to Grogu, and Grogu himself chose to go back to Din Djarin knowing he'd be cutting off his Jedi training short with Luke (much like how Luke did in Empire Strikes Back.) The show also has done a good job building up the Darksaber as being a representation of everything wrong with "the old ways" of the Mandalorians; the civil wars, the back-stabbing, the hate and aggression. I hope by the end of Season 3, Bo Katan and Din Djarin do indeed set aside their differences after a tense stand-off...but Din Djarin wins (just barely) and comes to the conclusion that much like the "never remove your helmet" rule, the Darksaber is toxic and corrupt and pulls a Lord of the Rings and casts it into a pool of lava, destroying it once and for all. It is heavily implied to be a Dark Side weapon, what with it literally being dark and called "The Darksaber." Tar Visla may have turned to the Dark Side when he originally crafted it, meaning its Dark Side influence has hung like a heavy shadow over the Mandalorian people ever since.
@tmhargreaves Жыл бұрын
The dark saber is won by combat. A new age of mandalore would be her getting it through saving a fellow mandalorian who had it. No sympathy etc but by saving the owner you have earnt it. Essentially won the fight by making them survive the fight they're in. Then it's a new age of mandalore that it's not about being a warrior but it's about the survival of mandalore and then bla bla love and unity stuff haha
@AceSpadeThePikachu Жыл бұрын
@@tmhargreaves I agree with the "saving and defending fellow Mandalorians and allies" part, but the Dark Saber symbolically represents aggression, power-lust and destruction. These are Dark Side traits. Much like how the Jedi Order fell because they had become so corrupted by blind dogmatism, hypocrisy and willingness to do shady things for an even more corrupt government, so too were the Mandalorians divided over conflicting ideals and in-fighting. Bo Katan says this outright to Din Djarin; the tragedy of Mandalore was not that it was decimated by the Empire...but that centuries of civil war weakened it to the point that they stood no chance against the Empire.
@SantomPh Жыл бұрын
@@AceSpadeThePikachu Tarre Viszla left the Jedi Order and eventually became the Mandalore , but there is no sign that he turned to the Dark Side or even became evil. Great episode! Bo-Katan had become complacent and cynical about the whole mandalorian culture. Watching Din taking the whole creed so seriously was almost humorous to her because she saw it divide mandalorians for so long. She saw all the myths as stories for children and watching Din walk into the water reminded her of how seriously Mandalorians need to take their culture. Her seeing the mythosoar restored faith in her culture and values in being a mandalorian. She was taken by surprise and shaken up that all the myths were true by seeing the mythosoar, restoring faith in her culture. I don’t think she was trying to trick Din at all (she could have left him but she dove straight in with no hesitation). She was trying to prove a point that it’s nothing special. I’ve think many of us have theorized at this point that Din Djarin is going to essentially be the Mandalorian Messiah. The one who reunites the clans and reclaims their Homeworld. That’s actually why I think the Dark Saber is so heavy for him. A lot of people thought it had to do with his attachment to Grogu, and that might be part of it, but I think it’s mainly because he’s not yet ready for the responsibility that sword carry’s with it. To wield the Dark Saber is to shoulder a heavy burden, and I don’t believe it’s one Din ever wanted. I doubt he see’s himself as a leader, just a loyal Mandalorian. Still, him having the Dark Saber and now rediscovering the Mythosaur. Seems like the perfect opportunity to bring together the Children of the Watch, Bo-Katan, and all the other Mandalorians scattered throughout the galaxy.
@michaelwachendorf2096 Жыл бұрын
Well technically it was BO that saw and discovered the Mythosaur. He was unconscious. And she wields the Saber with ease. And I agree he doesn't see himself as a leader. I'm guessing he's waiting on her.
@RenaissanceM Жыл бұрын
@@michaelwachendorf2096 Very true, but she wouldn’t have been down had she not been with Din. 😉 and her wielding the Dark Saber with ease is actually one of the things that gave me the idea. Bo wants to lead, she is ready to lead, she wants that responsibility. Whereas Din still has a lot to learn and overcome before he can bear the weight of that sword. I actually really like the idea that Din and Bo could end up together as the King and Queen of Mandalore. I wasn’t shipping them at first, but having gone back and watched their scenes together with that in mind, I could definitely see the possibility of a romance between them. Especially in that scene where she talks about her Father.

With this theory in mind, even if Bo becomes the rightful owner of the saber, I still think she and Din will together serve as a symbol of unity to the people. Also, Grogu will be like their adopted child and will be the prince of Mandalore. He will also be the first Jedi-mandalorian in thousands of years. So I'd like to point out a couple of things I've observed. If you go back to the Mando episode with Ahsoka and her battle with the chick and the beskar spear. When her lightsabers were against the spear for a long time the spear didn't appear to heat up at all. In the season 2 finale during the battle scene between Mando and Moff Gideon. When the darksaber made contact with the beskar spear for longer periods of time you could visually see the area of the beskar spear glowing red hot. So the darksaber definitely has a higher temperature than at least the pure white sabers Ahsoka wielded. I'm not sure how the other saber colors would compare but I'd assume since most of the Jedi sabers are very similar to each other. Unless.. in Rebels we saw two things, saber length controls and saber strength controls. Perhaps if the saber strength controls are bumped up too high the saber becomes too unstable. So that would require a balance of length and strength. Knowing this could we theorize the crystal of the darksaber can operate at a much higher strength than the lightsabers of the Jedi without sacrificing the length. Might be interesting on why we haven't seen lightsaber daggers before. Well I haven't, perhaps someone else has. Now to my next thought. In the season 2 finale, after Mando defeats Moff Gideon. We can see Mando escorting the Moff into the bridge with the saber on. He didn't appear to be struggling with it at that point. He turned it off then attempted to give it to Bo. At that point and after, he has been struggling with it ever since. Maybe the darksaber can detect the internal conflict within Din? Just like it did with Sabine. Because in the Rebels episode where she trains with it she mentions how heavy it is. Then it becomes lighter when her internal conflict is finally confronted and resolved. From this we could theorize Din has an internal conflict that needs to be resolved? Wait, let me backtrack a moment. Din doesn't struggle with the darksaber until after he breaks his creed by taking off his helmet! That's his internal conflict! What if after his redemption he no longer struggles to wield the darksaber? This would explain a lot! It's not the darksaber Din would be struggling with, it's his own internal conflict which the darksaber brings out of the wielder. Yes I know Bo was very efficient with the darksaber but she knows who she is and such but what if after seeing the Mythosaur she starts to have an internal conflict for herself now? Because she's starting to become a believer instead of just the spoiled princess who did it to not embarrass her father. This could get very interesting! Anyways, my apologies for this long comment. But I actually thought of some of it as I was typing it up and didn't want to erase what I had already typed.

“This is The Way.” Chills, one of the most powerful interactions in Star Wars thus far imo

I loved this episode. I think it's amazing that the Mythosaur, sleeping in the depths of Manolore; is symbolic of the Manolorian's resilience and strength.

Honestly, this episode was really interesting for all the right reasons. The way Din and Grogu went into Mandolore to explore the planet was interesting as both of these characters had never been there before. Also, Bo-katan was such a badass by the way she saved Din from that cyborg monstrosity.

Bo-katan was in the same systeem boba wasn't, I think that was the main reason grogu had to get her

He had literally just taught grogu how to navigate the system and explained exactly where bo katan was. That’s how grogu easily found her. I agree with you

Amazing episode! I was full of joy, it really felt like Star Wars. Didn‘t expect so much Grogu action, that was so special to see. Bo-Katan was super cool! Great to see Din, Grogu and Bo all together in this episode.
