Quick note on this. The episode that the lamb, the sinner, the hand of god represents, episode seven, has some evidence to back this up. The lamb itself was actually wearing the Paul mask at the time, and the hand chair was made from the faces of city council members, people in power. Carl was clearly upset at the election results, causing him to make the hand chair, thus cementing his place as the sinner.

One thing I want to point out is that the lamb, the sinner, the hand of God scene is a visual parallel to the verses in the Bible where God places the sheep on his right and the goats (sinners) on his left. God brings the sheep up with him and sends the goats into the eternal fire. The lamb is used as a symbol for a lot of things in Christianity now that I think about it. Jesus, the humans under God's watch, the people who will enter the kingdom of God, etc. Jesus has both the lamb and the shepherd as symbols which is kinda funny. Love the video!

You forgot to include something in the video. The original was only meant to be 4 episodes long, but filmcow’s audience pushed them to make more. So they did, making paul a representation of the audience, carl being film cow, and the mask being the loud minorities demands. Episodes 5 through 12 effectively became a social experiment artistically showcasing what was going on behind the scenes when they made the show.

So, I have my own theory about this which both adds to and yet somewhat contradicts yours. I don't think Llamas with Hats was ever intended to be a series. I think it ended up becoming what it was because it turned out to be stupidly popular and people kept asking for more, so FilmCow decided to give the people what they wanted. At first it was a few more episodes very similar to the first, but over time, I think FilmCow started getting sick of the constant pressure for more, and more, and even more. So things started getting weirder and weirder. We wanted more Llamas with Hats, so now buckle in, because we're getting more Llamas with Hats, but not like we expected. Just as Carl first starts running out of ideas, and then is pushed to just keep going until there's literally no where left to go, FilmCow was pushed to keep making Llamas with hats until the spark of inspiration left, and to keep going anyway. So they did. Paul left, but the fans demanded his return, so he did return, but not the way we wanted. Now Paul was a mask, driving Carl to ever greater heights of absurd violence and destruction. The show went and went until finally there was nowhere left to go. The world had been destroyed, Paul was dead, and Carl jumped off a bridge. Now, surely, the audience would stop asking for more. Then along came KZbin and its attempts to keep brands happy. FilmCow's most popular series, the one that got them most of their ad revenue, a series built up through years of hard work, had been demonetized. At least when the fans had demanded more and more and more, it was because they actually liked what FilmCow had produced, and FilmCow could be rewarded monetarily for their work and creativity. But now even that was being taken away. KZbin didn't care whether what FilmCow made was good or interesting. It only cared about whether it would scare off the advertisers. What's more, FilmCow was part of the rise of KZbin. They were making videos back when short videos were all you could upload, and when there *was* no high-def streaming. FilmCow helped build KZbin into the platform it is today - the platform that attracted advertisers in the first place - and then KZbin abandoned FilmCow for the advertisers. In a sense, then, WE are the Paul mask. We demanded more and more. FilmCow is Carl, the sinner - damned to lose popularity if they don't make more Llamas with Hats, and damned to make no money from Llamas with Hats because of KZbin's advertisers. The Hand of God is the market, determined to crush FilmCow either way. And the lamb? The lamb is the innocent sacrifice that God demands. Within the show, that's Paul (sorta). In the meta-commentary, that's pure creative freedom - the freedom to just make whatever weird shit you want without having to worry about pleasing the fans or the KZbin advertisers. It's the freedom to move on to something else, or to continue what you've been doing, without the pressure of having to rely on how your work is received in order to survive.

I remember reading an interview with Jason Steele where he said the original Llamas With Hats 5 involved Carl blowing up the Earth as a series finale, since people had figured it out, he decided to rewrite it and take the show in a different direction. I've always thought that was what the Paul mask meant when he said Carl's work was not done, he had to finish with physically blowing up the Earth himself. After seeing the real Paul gone, he decided to not even bother with that and just jumped off the broken bridge to his demise instead.

I'm pretty sure the true meaning behind Llamas With Hats was FilmCow using it as a metaphor for the audience wanting him to continue making the same kinds of things over and over, but also them getting annoyed if the thing he made wasn't bigger and better than the last one. It was made back during a time when he was making a lot of one-off weird stuff, and a lot of people seemed to want more Charlie and Llamas, so he gave them what they were asking for in a really weird way. At least, that's how I always thought of the original; I never watched the recut.

Actually this reminds me, some time ago I watched this theory about Lamers with hats. It discusses how Paul represented the creators and their want to make the original Lamers with hats, and how Paul was a representation of their viewers, and how slowly over time it was the demand from the viewers that drove the creation of the show rather than the creators want to make it.
