Lovely compilation. Helps me notice how often they dressed Miss Leigh in green. I think to help her beautiful blue eyes pick up the green hues since 'Scarlett O'Hara' had green eyes. Otherwise, Miss Leigh always looked to me like she walked right out of the pages of 'Gone With The Wind'. She was the physical embodiment of 'Scarlett.' Vivian Lee I think if people see Raintree county with Liz they will see she also plays a great southern belle. I think she could have played Scarlett too but I am good Vivian did. Both women are gorgeous and Liz having being born with a double set of eyelashes has a great beauty that stands out because of those the gist and eyes. Vivian’s internal strife I think made her have something other actresses did not. She was tragic and I feel sorry for her. She just had a terrible time. Liz was a fighter who they could nit break and Vivian was not.

I love their use of colors in her costumes to signify what emotional state Scarlett as in. In the beginning its all white and soft (representing innocence) After the war, when she's courting Rhett, her costumes go from whites and pale colors to jewel tones and then by the end, she's in black.

I love the tune as well, it expresses magnificence tinged with nostalgia. At the same time, I find the story itself rather depressing, with a less than edifying moral: Vivienne Leigh’s extraordinary sparkle and radiance and vitality are what make the film such a compelling and unforgettable classic.

I whole-heartedly agree. I read that book every summer that I was growing up. I still love it. I watch it every time it's on TCM. My sister gave me a Mammy doll one year for Christmas. It is one of my most prized possessions. GWTW is the all-time greatest book, movie, culture EVER.
