Dracorex's appearance in Primeval matches with the show's recurring theme of the some of the animals being the origin of several mythological creatures, in this case the episode featuring the dracorex has it appearing in medieval europe and being hunted by a knight both in the past and modern times

6:09 For whatever reason, people seem to mistake the length of Pachycephalosaurus for its height. It might be an old mistake as there are sci-fi stories from the 1950s that depict Pachycephalosaurs as big as T. rex.

I remember seeing an episode of Bonehead Detectives (good show that I think held up), and it was argued that Pachicelalosarus likely didn't ram into each other from a distance like Bighorn Sheep, because of the head wasn't a too angled to guarantee direct hits without slipping off each other. So my guess, is that they likely hit each other at close range or shoving, and knocking each other like giraffes.

At 6:58 & the design of the Cephalozord at 1:50, I remember a study a while back (can remember any specifics) that theorized that Pachycephalosaurs might have fought each other/defended themselves in a similar manner to Kangaroos; by scratching attackers with their hand claws & kicking them with their feet

Here's a few interpretations of Pachycephalosaurus, Stygimoloch & Dracorex that I know of: -Dink the Little Dinosaur (Pachycephalosaurus was featured in the episode, "The Reluctant Head Banger") -Dino Riders franchise (Pachycephalosaurus appeared as both a toy & as one of the many dinosaurs allied with the Valorians in the tie-in TV Show) -Animal Crossing franchise (From "Wild World" to it's most recent game, "New Horizons", the skeleton of Pachycephalosaurus is one of the many fossils the player can donate to the Museum) -Dinotopia franchise (Both Pachycephalosaurus & Stygimoloch make a few appearances throughout the books. Pachycephalosaurus also made a brief appearance in "Quest for the Ruby Sunstone") -Dinosaurs Decoded (All three dinosaurs are featured in this National Geographic program; which debates on whether the three are actually the same animal. The model for the Pachycephalosaurus is also the same model from the 2014 film; Dinosaur Island) -Pokémon franchise (Cranidos & its' evolution; Rampardos, are based on Pachycephalosaurus) -Dino Island PC Game (This PC Game from the 2002 has Pachycephalosaurus as one of the many adoptable dinosaurs the player can place in their park) -Warpath: Jurassic Park (You already mentioned how Pachycephalosaurus is a playable dinosaur in the game but Stygimoloch is another playable dinosaur in the game as well) -Dinosaur Empire! by Abby Howard (Dracorex, Stygimoloch & Pachycephalosaurus are featured in this graphic novel towards the end) -Jurassic World (Pachycephalosaurus makes a brief appearance in the film; much bigger than its' previous appearance in The Lost World) -Rourke Dinosaur Library (One of the books focuses on Pachycephalosaurus) -Dinosapien (The Diggers, one of the villains for the TV Show, are primarily based on Pachycephalosaurus but also have armored features of Ankylosaurus) -The Wildlife Park franchise (Pachycephalosaurus is an adoptable animal in the "Dino World" expansion for Wildlife Park 2 & "Dino Invasion" expansion for Wildlife Park 3) -Safari Ltd, Schleich, Papo, Battat Terra, etc. (These toy companies have made figurines of at least one of the three dinosaurs) -Dinosaucers (The character, Bonehead, is a Pachycephalosaurus) -Dinosaurs TV Show (While some sources claim that the character, Spike, might be a Polacanthus; IMHO I think he resembles a Pachycephalosaurus. Albeit, a bit more stylized)

Claiming to have used the newest Research, despite the Raptors being bald and probably other Inconsistencies (has been Years since I've played it) while also having a Campaign that doesn't really make Sense. The worst though are the Expansions for Wildlife Park 3, just 1:1 transfering Stuff from Wildlife Park 2 + only releasing them on Steam, meaning many People would've needed to buy a Game they already own, again 🤦🏻‍♂️

So of course we’re including Pachycephalosaurs itself, Stygimoloch & Dracorex. The best has to Prehistoric Planets Pachycephalosaurs in spite of it not having cheeks which they would have, it’s a Marginocephalian after all. The worst undoubtedly is Primeval’s Dracorex/Pachycephalosaurus, which some people try & defend that design & I think they’re on crack, cause even I, a defender of Primeval’s creature designs, will not defend that one.

As usual, I come to enlighten on Transformers dinosaurs. In Beast Wars Neo had a Pachycephaalosaurus in the Predacons ranks, Hardhead (duh...), the character and the toy were a heavy remold od the original Velociraptor mold of Beast Wars Dinobot. In the Fossilizer subline in the War for Cybertron: Kingdom, there is a little guy (two considering his repaint) that transforms in a Dracorex fossil skeleton, Vertebreak (and the repaint Dracodon).

Would this includes Stygimoloch and "Dracorex"? Anyways, did you know that Pachycephalosaurus was considered the most dangerous and predatory pachycephalosaurids ever known? Despite that they are complete vegetarians, but if you look closely to their mouths, that contains sharp, knife-like teeth that reminiscent to theropods, which the Pachycephalosaurus turns out it's an omnivore, remaining their vegetarian diet, they also had the meat diet, besides insects, are small dinosaurs of all ages, mammals, fish, young of middle-sized dinosaurs, eggs, birds, lizards, and carrion, and their sweet-tooth diet also contained honey and berries, that makes Pachycephalosaurus's diet more bear-like.

I personally think pachy stygi and dracorex are all seperate. Their spikes compared to the pachys small bumps around their dome heads just dont matchup. How a couple very large spikes recess intk the skull and become MANY very small bumps doesnt compute. Now if pachy had about the same amount of bumps as they have spikes, and the were in the same spots and the bumps had distance from one another then id think otherwise but atm i feel theyre all seperate

At best, I think dracorex MIGHT be a juvenile but not of the species of pachycephalosaurus that we know now. I'm a supporter of the "stygimoloch is a separate species of pachycephalosaurus" camp. Maybe dracorex was a juvenile of that potential species?
@daffierpython7755
@daffierpython7755 3 ай бұрын
@@william3100 I would take dracorex and stygimoloch as the same but not pachys, but I don’t think dracorex would be a younger individual. Could moreso be male and female, females being stygimoloch the bigger one, and females being dracorex the smaller one. Mainly because it’s make sense for dracorex to have rough spikey heads to more easily attack other males, similarly to how deer evolved lots of sharp edges on their antlers, to better compete, while stygimoloch would also have the spikes either for threaten displays or for attacks but smoother heads due to being female
@william3100
@william3100 3 ай бұрын
@daffierpython7755 I mean, the bones of dracorex are immature and are much smaller than stygimoloch. Most male archosaurian reptiles aren't like that. Also, the head of stygimoloch is still tough and dome-like. It would've been used for intraspecific combat like pachycephalosaurus. It's also a better ramming weapon than a flat head with little spikes. I've also heard from a paleoartist on deviantart that the heads of pachycephalosaurus and others may not have been very smooth as commonly depicted and would still have tough scales on it. Maybe even bumby scales that almost resemble osteoderms in some way. Maybe the spikes on dracorex changed and shrank in terms of bone core and gave away to still being prominent in tough, keratinized, or cornified(I don't know which)scales for combat? I could be either very wrong or misremembering a couple of things, but maybe it was like that?

I’m of the minority that Dracorex, Stygimoloch and Pachycephalosaurus are separate species entirely Also I remember a Pachy in Dino Fury that had a kangaroo gimmick

It’s actually reasonable that Stygimoloch was a separate Pachy species relative to the type species because it’s found in more recent rocks. It’s still considered a subadult just that it doesn’t grow into P. wyomingensis rather P. spinifer. For Dracorex the overwhelming consensus is that it’s a juvenile Pachycephalosaurus though it’s unclear whether it’s the type species

Remember: This also Includes other Pachycephalosaurids like Stygimoloch and Dracorex (I do not believe in Jack Horner’s Dumb theories)

This theory has gone past Horner at this point, it’s pretty widely accepted as true.
