Huge fan of this pedal. So versatile, but not cold and sterile. And not generic. Just versatile.
@AndyDemos Жыл бұрын
Yeah and there’s no reason for it to be sterile because it’s still an analog circuit! Thanks for watching!

@@AndyDemos exactly! They really nailed it. Reminds me a bit of how the Thermae delay is analog but also ventures into esoteric stuff with the digital control.

Been playin pedals 25 yrs...this Kernom is an absolute Gem....worth every dollar of the 300 price, the tones are very plentiful, the expression jack is so cool, it a new favorite.
@CorbCorbin Жыл бұрын
It and the Poly Flat V seem to be the best for the money, for sculpting one’s own gain sound, for that price.

@@Ryan-rn3cf Maybe in the US you can get the Palisades more cheaply, but here in Europe it's the equivalent of $350. It's stepped and not smoothly blending the different voicings and it does not offer MIDI support. You might not care for that, but it doesn't come for free.

@cbrohawn96 Жыл бұрын
In the past my way huge swollen pickle had me thinking about how cool it would be to have expression control over some of its parameters - like the clip knob which functions in the same way as the mood knob here. the fact that all the knobs on this pedal can be controlled via CV and MIDI really opens up some interesting ideas for processing. LFOs and envelopes controlling your distortion sound ya kno. woohoo

Definitely plan on getting one in the future, I think one thing that is a missed opportunity by Kernom is not having the option to have the expression pedal control the full sweep of the mood rather than a blend between presets they gave us (which is nice but still).
@AndyDemos Жыл бұрын
No missed opportunity, you can do this! I meant to say 'morph' instead of 'blend'. Any parameter can be assigned to the exp pedal including the Mood. If you have the non-preset at min and the preset at max, you can travel the full sweep. I mention this in the last EXP example and choose not to assign the Mood to EXP because the result is non-linear and you'll notice jumps and changes of dynamics which didn't suit the example. Thanks for the comment!

Because this takes up 3 spaces (arguably) and cost around $300...I wonder if you can match the capabilities with 3 other distortion pedals. (Maybe Boss pedals). It' be cool to see someone try.

Be sure you get the latest version with the upgrades otherwise the midi presets are hard to tweak , especially in a live situation, I’m surprised that all these influencers not mention a single word about the issue

What a demo The sound is very versatile and with presets + midi it can easily replace most of your OD/Distortion pedals in the chain. On the other hand I absolutely hate the design of the casing and the minimalist graphic. + The white color would be super attracting dirt and scratches. My pure personal opinion is that this is a major marketing miss of a very promising looking company. I know sound matters, but even in the pedal department the design still sells.

@AndyDemos Жыл бұрын
That's fair, it's classic overdrive in the end but It's pretty rare for any pedal maker to develop new technology that warrants a patent. I'd say that's pretty remarkable and worth more than a penny ;)
@jamiemorgan4146 Жыл бұрын
You’re not totally wrong. Just because a patent is issued, by the USPO, doesn’t mean it’s something fantastic. Thousands of patents are issued every year and many aren’t worth the costs to patent them.😉 You know what I’m saying Andy. You and I both know that there are hundreds of pedals out there that pretty much will give you the same thing.
@AndyDemos Жыл бұрын
@@jamiemorgan4146 I see what you’re saying but from a circuit design standpoint, this isn’t the same as any other pedal. Is it that hard to give them credit?
