Seems like I have to explain the Statue getting destroyed by itself in Highlander boss fight. It's not a bug. There's a touchfield that will destroy the statue if you try to hide behind it during a fight. Croteam was evil. The same can be seen if you try to hide behind big guard towers while waiting for the pyramid to open on The Great Pyramid.

211:32 I only saw the first and second encounter HD on Steam, pretty much You could use an emulator for the 360 region locked game disc? 21:17 That's probably the headset, various headsets have different fovs, the Quest is on the narrower end of the scale in terms of fov. There are extra face pads you can grab which, well, make it a lot more comfortable for a start, and increase the fov due to the change in where your eyes are in relation to the optics

15:49 Your assumption could still be accurate but I thought it's worth pointing out that MS used to mandate 'how to play' section for all XBLA games, - no matter how basic or redundant some of them turned out to be. I would guess possibly due to digital games not having traditional manuals which were still a somewhat expected component of a game at the time. In any case it was similar to how the 360 console games mandated achievements and how competitive leaderboards had to be split into at least 2 categories; player and ranked, - with the latter enforcing the trademarked 'trueskill' game matching system. These seem to be few of the more obvious _requirements_ that had to be met to be in order to get published on 360.

Serious sam revolution was left in early access for ages with the developer working on other things basically (I could see from their social medias etc they publicised). I wrote to Croteam's PR dude on steam to express my displeasure and showed examples. Within a short peroid of time Croteam took over then finished and released the full game. I thought that was damn cool of them to do from one person complaining about it being essentially abandonded at the time.

What's your opinion on the update Croteam released for Serious Sam 2? It gave the option to dual-wield all weapons barring Serious Bomb, sprint around and even multiply enemy numbers. It's a very different game feel from the normal Serious Sam 2 experience.

Hey, just a bit pedantic, but a note after aprox 20 years playing this game and never noticing up to literally yesterday: You can reload your colts in second encounter with alt on PC. Because you can literally get better weapons from secrets before finding enemies, never noticed, but yeah. You actually can reload those.

Second Encounter, yes. Second Encounter =/= Serious Sam 2 though. Croteam released a huge patch for SS2 recently on Steam so if you own it there, the ability to reload now exists.

I hate the weird physics/collisions some enemies have in the Fusion versions of HD, to the point that I can't play these versions. Kleers and frogs and bulls in FE, and SE has additional problems with at least the kukurbitos and the demon reptiloids. It's mostly stuff like them "hitting" you when they really shouldn't have been able to, sometimes from a greater distance or from a weird angle or without an animation. I haven't tried fusion's version of SS3, but at this point I never have it installed anymore. Also, SS Revolution has a weird aspect ratio and FOV-related glitch that causes models like trees to start vanishing like half the distance to the player that they normally would. I only really notice it in some custom levels and Palenque, but it also makes me never want to play that release, lol.

Can you recommend a video or article showing all differences from TFE original and the HD re-release? Also if possible the Xbox version too. I honestly dont know apart from Kleers taking 2 shots in TSE HD and 1 in TSE non-HD (shotgun shots) and the gravity. I dislike the reliance on Steam Workshop. Having Moddb and Nexus support is better long term for bigger mods and users other than Steam gamers.

It's just the chainsaw and serious bomb. Flamethrower and sniper rifle are still exclusive to the TSE portion of the game. I can't say it changes much, but now Marsh Hoppers are a non-issue with the chainsaw.

- HD have not custom gravities; - The rate of fire of the Colts is locked in HD - The double jump bug on jump pads, is no more in HD; - There is no slope acceleration in DM in HD, the overal DM speed feels a bit decreased. - In HD Sam's sounds from FE are dropped and are used SS2 sounds instead. - Same for the +1 HP and +1 armor items. - In HD also there is now variety of sounds, for some pickups and actions, not just one sound as it was in HD; - The lasergun uses the TSE sound effect, not the TFE one. - Highlanders are using the TSE attack, not the TFE one. - In HD Highlanders and Fiendian demons fireballs can now be destroyed also by flamethrower or lasergun, not just the cannon. In classic FE you can shoot down the fireballs of the Highlander with every gun, but in classic TSE you can destroy the balls only with cannon shot. - The death animations of the kleer skeleton are reduced to one. No matter how much you damage it, killing will always make a kleer to fall apart. In classic TFE or TSE they can just lay down dying, depending on the damage taken. - The harpies in HD just splash in air, when killed. In classics they can be gibed, but they also have death animation. - Werebulls and kleers have strange speed charging in HD. This occurs when they stuck somewhere for a moment, while running to you (a corner or another obstacle) and when they release they launch themselves with greater speed. - In HD beheaded Firecrackers and Rocketeers now have melee attacks. The Rocketeers have a circular saw blade in the place of its head, and the firecracker holds a chainsaw. In the final releases of the classics they don't have those features, but they did in earlier builds of the classics,like the alpha. - In HD, when you play on serious difficulty, the backpack now can fill your ammo to the max. In classics it can't, because it uses normal/hard max ammo limit I.e. It can't give you more than 500 bullets for the minigun, or 400 cells force the lasergun. - The lasergun ammo in HD is called "electricity". The model for it is simplified compared to the classic one, and is placed horizontally. In the classics it floats under an angle, it have additional textures inside and the ammo is called "cells". - Dying enemies in HD have no collision box. In classics they have, until the disappearing animation starts. - In HD, in the second level, the secret desert is now easier to access. In classics you have to jump over a sliding rock. Now you can simply walk clearly visible peak. - In HD, The jump pads in DM don't have a sound or the energy beam texture. In classics they have. - In HD the Desert Temple map is using the red station DM map melody, which is from TSE. In classic TFE Desert Temple has its own melody. - In HD, the big temple on the Desert Temple DM map, now have different front wall. - In HD the firing sequence of the Major Bio-Mechanoid is reversed, compared to classics. - In HD there is no harpy-carrier. There wasn't in classic TFE either, but there was in classic TSE. - In HD, the chainsaw upon impact uses the SS2 circular impact sound. In classics it doesn't have an impact sound. - In HD the chainsaw "teeth" are just shaking in place. The classic one have a fully rotating animation. - The cannonball explosion sound in HD is different than the one used in classics. - The palm destruction in HD leaves no tree pin to jump on. Other destroyable models have added more destruction layers, compared to classics. Those destruction animations are combined with SS2 stone destruction sound. - In HD, On the valley of the kings level, the secret pendulum is now removed and replaced by teleport. - In HD, on the moon mountains level, the rocks behind the waterfall are removed, and all bridges are made destroyable when you pass them. In classic TFE there is wall of rocks behind the waterfall, and some bridges don't self-destruct. - In HD you have plenty of DM maps. Classic TFE had only one - Desert Temple. - All ammo pickups are floating horizontally in HD. - The 50 health pickup in HD have a hearth symbol, instead of red cross, as it was in classics. This is due to legal reasons connected with the Red Cross organization.

I think the classic game is a better introduction to the series. The HD games are a nice sendoff for players who enjoyed the classics but I wouldn't suggest starting there.

You can get Serious Sam Classic on Steam, but they have this weird setup where they're only available as a free bonus if you get Serious Sam HD or the Deluxe Edition of Serious Sam 3, rather than being available on their own, unless that's been changed over the years.

As cool as the HD versions look, the Kleers and Warebulls are seriously broken and are faster, more slidey and do not continue on a straight path once they run past you. They often 180 and hit you, the problem is even worse in Fusion. The originals have some weird issues with sensitivity on my PC so Revolution it is. Its pretty buggy when it comes to co op though. But i love this series, would love Next Encounter to get proper release on PC.

Well... Doom 1 basically was. DOS, Windows 95, PlayStation, SNES, Genesis (32X), 3DO, Jaguar, GameBoy Advance, XBox Live Arcade, Doom 3: BFG Edition, Slayer Collection, and some other PC release titled something along the lines of "The 1001 Games Action Pack", but I can't remember the exact name. (I found it at Goodwill. I have it lying around somewhere.)
