I am going to go ahead and say this is the absolute best video you have made. How I missed this module is beyond me. I would love to see more examples using this.

Omri you are incredible ! Sharing all your passion and your knowledge for free ! Each time I see your videos i'm blown away by your creativity and your precise, clear explanations ! Thanks to you and your videos I started messing around with vcv rack around two weeks ago and having so much fun with it ! The world needs more people like you, you bring knowledge, art, and good vibes to everybody that has an internet connection :D (sry for my english)

I have MindMeld's Mixer, AuxExpander and EQ as my go to in VCV and now, this module will be standard as well. Between this and some other recent additions from Vult and Stoermelder and others VCV is becoming more and more amazing. Thanks for thorough video. Jakub Ciupinski is also working on a series on this module. Thanks for introducing us to him through your symposium.

Man, Omri the examples are epic. What a cool sound. At the Gating example I suddenly heard a chirping bird, but I couldn’t localize this sound in your mixer. There was, Gate, Kick, Hats, Bass, Padd and Snare, but no Chirping^^. There was a real Bird that was chirping in sync with the beat at my window. That was so funny :D

This is huge for VCV. The eurorack control forge module is similar in some ways. i bought it to pair with maths in my rack... now this with ES-8 i believe it might be game over for me. this combination will provide years of patching and learning. excellent breakdown! looking forward to seeing this in your future patches.

as always, great video- thank you sir! this module is amazing and fills quite a void in vcv. even if mindmeld only added half the features that it currently has, it would still be an insanely powerful tool.

Worth reminding that, with the CV-as-playhead option and a bit of ingenuity, you can still do an awful lot with the standard Shapemaster despite the lack of the control module from Pro.

Omri, thank you for this share, Shapemaster is indeed one step closer towards less-generative, more musical creation. Throwing multiple modules onto linear timeline construction ( hopefully in vcvrack 2+ ) will be defining.

Drawing envelopes like this always felt clunky with PdArray, can't wait to try out the free version. I've donated to Steve before just for how awesome MixMaster is, so I'll probably be gladly shelling out for this one too!

Great video! Does this module eat up lot of CPU?
@OmriCohen-Music3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I just checked it in the last patch from the video, which is probably the heaviest, and the levels were between 3 and 4 percent per instance. In comparison, Plateau is around 5%.

@@OmriCohen-Music wow, way less than what I expected. Thanks!

@@pedroalagoa4496 Yeah, Marc, the one who coded this, is a wizard... He did also all of the Geodesics and the Impromptu collections.

This is one of the most flexible modules I've seen. Wow! But how CPU-hungry is it? As a developer, I'm trying to imagine the computations required to render complex shapes like that - potentially at audio rates - on eight channels. There are optimisations that could be used, but it's certainly not an easy task.
@stevebaker28963 жыл бұрын
Considering what it does, it's very efficient (Marc who coded it is a bit of a wizard in that regard). Someone else asked about CPU further down the comments and Omri replied 'I just checked it in the last patch from the video, which is probably the heaviest, and the levels were between 3 and 4 percent per instance. In comparison, Plateau is around 5%.' Even ignoring the shape rendering etc and just looking at it as 8 x EG + VCAs, it is still considerably more efficient than any other 8 x EG + VCA combo in Rack I think.
@OmriCohen-Music3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, as Steve mentioned, Marc, the guy who coded this beautiful monster, is a wizard. ShapeMaster is quite CPU friendly.
@macronencer3 жыл бұрын
@@OmriCohen-Music Thanks Omri, and @Steve Baker for your comments - that's very impressive! I'm afraid I'm too busy at the moment to get on with learning to code VCV Rack modules, but when I do, I'm looking forward to it. Optimisation is a very interesting challenge :)
