Congrats!!🎉. You're a Marathoner👏🏾. It's truly no joke. I've been a Pacer 3 times & run 19 marathons in total but the nerves, jittery feeling & uncertainty always lingers every time.... That's why we love it & that's why it's always fulfilling because it's a celebration of all the work we put in before race day.

Inspiring and emotional video Alex. Thanks for making it. I also finished my first marathon just 1.5 weeks ago (the International Marathon in Panama). Unlike you I messed up my pacing, went much quicker than planned in the beginning (up to 35 seconds quicker than my pacing strategy). That resulted in the race becoming veeery hard from around km 33 where a few inclines started. Could finally pick up the pace again on the last 1.5 km though and finish with a sprint which was the best thing. I ended up achieving my goal of finishing 3:30, actually beating it by a fair bit to an overall 3:23:24 which is fantastic. Planning to run my next marathon in April, hopefully with a little better pacing 😁

Thank you for tuning in! Finishing with a sprint is great, I could only wish! That's a great time, and good luck with the next one!

Well done! I did my first marathon last month and I agree with you, it's no joke. I already had half marathon experience and lots of training under my belt and I thought I was going to finish the marathon with no issues but that was not the case. No cramps but I did have to use the washroom a couple of times and had to do a run walk at about 32km. I was well prepared with toilet paper so I do recommend runners to carry some. Congratulations and welcome to marathon running if you plan on doing another one. I know I am because now I just want to beat my time..and like that I am a marathon junkie.

I was in the red corral, I saw a guy with some dslr camera shooting towards my direction. And what are the odds that I started EXACTLY behind you at 4:28 😂😂 Congrats on your first marathon, Alex. That was very impressive time regardless the wall. I was on course for my PR too until the 34k mark, pulled my both hamstrings and constant cramps all the way to finish line. But, I think that’s a sign to love the grind even more. Let’s go back stronger!
