The weather Channel is evil corporate 🗑. They were *airing commercials* every 10 minutes back in Dec 2021 while a mile wide high end EF4 barreled up on my town of Dawson Springs, hit it dead center, at 10:30pm, and killed 13 of my neighbors. They weren't even *on air* when it hit. They were showing more commercials. Luckily I never really watched them, my local tiny 14 tristate news weather men did a fantastic job, they went from 5:30pm to 1am nonstop, not commercials. I truly do hate The "Weather" Channel with a burning passion. Sorry for the rant btw lol

Idea for you and Ryan Hall for next week: team up and swap off coverage time. 6 on, six off. Just announce when you’re signing off and where to go for live coverage. That way y’all can get some rest and be able to cover more time for these big storms if necessary :)

I was in one of the late night areas (Murfreesboro TN) that was under warning during that night. You decided to open up a new stream since you were nearing the max time to record. Because of your willingness to stay on, you gave me ample time to decide whether I'd bunker down or vacate the area within a timely manner before the weather got too bad (I know driving during a tornado is the worst idea, but I left to stay with family further north in Nashville 45 minutes before the storm system even arrived). As soon as I sat down in my family's living room (approx. 40 minutes later), the local news issued a tornado warning in my county with large debris detected. I've always been a bit of a storm enthusiast, and since getting tornadoes is pretty commonplace in Tennessee I'm not shaken by twisters and warnings too easily (don't be scared, but be prepared). But I had a severe case of storm anxiety that entire day since the phrasing of these storms sounded so worrisome by all the meteorologist while I watched the system that hit Memphis make a straight path to my home. I am so grateful you were calm and collected in all of this and gave listeners who might've been affected by these storms sound advice.

This wasn't April 27th, 2011, but it certainly felt like it at times. I watched for most of the day and I was just in shock, but I kept it together because my best friend lives in Iowa City, Iowa. At one time there were like four tornado warnings crisscrossing over his city. In fact, the MONSTER wedge tornado that hit Keota was just twenty minutes away from hitting his area before it finally ended up weakening. This day will be remembered for years to come. Incredible job, Andy, and all of the storm chasers and first responders and Ryan and everyone else that went into helping as many people as possible. And to those of you still in the risk areas, please continue to be weather aware. The ingredients in the atmosphere are still more than good enough to fuel strong tornadoes.

Here in southeast Iowa we had mammatus clouds, green skies, hail and lots of rotation. No tornado in our community but ten miles from here a tornado touched down in Hedrick, and another a little farther away in Keota. Definitely a day to remember. So grateful that you helped us be aware and prepared for this event in advance...

💜🕊️⚓ Andy, your Kokomo coverage was such a lifeline for this circle of souls. From Michigan your feed today (and Ryan's) gave me the ability to relay specifics and your two's links to a business associate down in Tennessee, who's Marina owner and landlord was driving home to his mom in Kokomo for a week's visit. He arrived about an hour and a half before the front arrived. Your efforts enabled and compelled them to make the decision to get in their cellar and stay there until you called an all clear. I cannot put into words what it meant to me to have the ability to relay the details through Tennessee back to Kokomo, since I had no direct contact. It was an anchor for all souls, including all their 4-footed companions.

Had both you and Ryan on simultaneously since family members live in many of those risk areas. It's got to be hard-if not impossible-for one person to cover the number of tornado outbreaks in all of these states as we did last night. Wow! Thank you!

Thank you SO much for your extended live coverage Andy! I was in the Chicago area (Aurora technically) and can't thank you enough for your heads up that sirens would activate due to the destructive 90mph winds. I was prepared, but still panicked watching the line come through and seeing some kinks in the line. Turns out there was a brief EF0 that touched down near me and lifted less than 5 minutes from my apartment. If it wasn't for your coverage I would've felt way more scared and less prepared. Thank you again for being there for us and I look forward to your coverage on Tuesday as it looks like a lot of areas including my own are in for something similar!

Was in Hamilton NJ tonight on 4/1 at around 6:45pm. Rather suddenly, the skies became dark, low clouds, severe lightning and thunder. Tornado warning came through on my phone. I ran into a ShopRite and the store temporarily lost power- the hail on the metal roof was so loud! Truly an anxious event.

6:20:48 was for me, and many others that I knew. I’ve never heard of a “blanket tornado” warning like that before, that’s quite scary but he was on par with the possible tornado rotations. One was confirmed north of Loves Park, just a tad. It was scary.

Some big rippers thru IA today. Good and rather unusually vid. due to the lack of crops, shows great structure to these storms. (also low humidity in comparison to July ternader season in IA, IL, etc. providing some excellent visual contrast and resolution. That is to say, the visuals are stunning, the decisions/behaviors of the yutes, no so much. Given the complete lack of winter in the upper MW, I'm prepping for a . . . heh . . . chaos. Although we've had mild AF winter and spring seasons the past 3-5 yrs, if I don't plan for some left-field shit, I'll feel more like a idiot than any given Monday.
