Wonderful guitarist, melodic, fast when needed but still melodic, fluid and soulful, and incredibly varied playing, never boring. Definitely one of the very best guitarists ever. And the voice! As good a singer as he is a guitarist.

Saw him twice so far. Once with the full band last December at the Beacon theater and once on on the drive in tour in early September. To hear a three piece to me was more impressive. Just how a drummer, bass player and guitar/singer play so tight and fill out the sound was incredible! To witness Marcus play and sing with only those three was something to witness. The whole show from start to finish blew me away.

@@toddmyers3155 maaaaaan, you can’t even compare the two. Billy is a freaking beast and so is Marcus but in two very different ways. you can tell who is who, without seen either one of them just based off their guitar playing. Billy is super creative, very well-rounded, and lightning fast…. Whereas Marcus the soul, and while I love Billy’s playing that’s where he’s lacking for me. Let’s hope they continue to play together throughout the years. if those two were to put a band together, they would conquer the world.

Well done all of you & thanks for uploading the content. I'm from Sydney, Australia, in my 50's, play a few instruments & blues is my thing. Joe Bonamassa introduced me to MK on the KTBA Cruise and I was fascinated by his story. Marcus is an old soul for sure and I have immense pride in the younger players dedicating their lives to this particular genre. Marcus King is a wonderfully talented young man with a monstrous career ahead of him.

From about one hour an 2 minutes to one hour and 13 minutes they go into (or a jam over) the fusion classic "Stratus" by Billy Cobham (famously covered by Jeff Beck and other greats as well). I guess that should be inserted into the list. And not forgetting: the "cover" starting at 01:21:52 is a Frank Zappa tune: "Eat that Question" from the "Grand Wazoo" album (1972).

This young man feels every note every lyric. I'm so moved by his natural talent and presence. Hard working and strong. Of course, raised in the heart of Appalachia. My great grandfather had a plantation in South Carolina back in the day. Later my family took up residence on the other side of the North Carolina state line Tennessee. Just over the Foothills of the Smokiés. Jefferson County Blount County. I grew up in the late 70s. Every summer I flew back to East Tennessee from Texas. I know that road all to well. You know, the road that runs from Tennessee to Texas. Marcus King Band you guys are awesome! I'm com'in to a show soon. I'll let you know when I'm there. Until then Be Safe and God Bless you all. 💯🤛 🇺🇲 🎼🎸🕶️🎩✔️☮️

What a great guitarist he deserved to be playing at Crossroads.

Yes that was also the first time I saw him live. He was definitely pumped to be there and flat out out jammed everyone else that night including the great Jeff Beck. I'm not sure what the heck the deal was with Johnny Deep playing with Jeff Beck was about, but it ruined his performance.

This is musically every minute as good and inspiring as any Marcus King concert I've seen/heard so far. Great man, great band! I wonder, however, if it's only me who thinks that Marcus’ guitar sound seems a bit harsh here (possibly due to some effects pedals used here but not generally at other occasions). I don't want to actually complain and It's possibly just nit picking, but I personally do miss the somewhat more "organic" sound I've heard on other live captures.
