Marcus King is a generational talent. This is one of his older tunes - think he was early 20’s here. He can literally play anything, sing anything and write anything. He used to do a lot more jazz fusion when he was younger and lived in Greenville and Asheville and his taste has since morphed more into southern rock with some chicken pickin thrown in since he’s moved to Nashville. He also has an absolutely incredible singing voice - it’s like Gregg Allman meets Janis Joplin with some Aretha/Otis Redding thrown in. Killer songwriter too. Just an insane talent.

Marcus King is so good. He and Billy Strings did a cover of " summertime " one of my favorite classics. .it is so good. Both amazing talented artists

You have to do more live Marcus King. He’s from where I live in Greenville SC. You haven’t even heard him sing yet. His voice is as good as his playing. He’s amazing!

WHAT A TREAT! So fresh, a thrill to experience. It's a shame this probably won't get as many listens because of the "Marcus Who?" reaction by most, but that's their loss...and after all, isn't discovery a big part of what NicknLex is about? Thank you, Eric!

Adrian Belew - He was the main force behind King Crimson for quite a while even though the group was Robert Fripp's project. I missed BEAT here in Cincinnati, but a friend said it was outstanding. Belew also played with Talking Heads, David Bowie and many others.

I am 66 and 2 of my three kids are older than Marcus King and his bandmates. I love this band and have seen them many times in concert. With all due respect to their musicianship and this video, you should not have introduced yourself to Marcus with an instrumental. His voice is fantastic. His vocal work is the outstanding feature of many of their songs. His vocals, together with his guitar chops and the quality of his band make them one of the premier acts out there these days!

Great song, Great reaction- It reminds me a little of Spyro Gyra and Aquarium Rescue Unit. Both also amazing and if you haven't heard of them, I highly recommend.

Sounds like a score to a movie in the late 60s or early 70s. Like a bank heist. I don't know.

I dig any music that sounds like the soundtrack of a 70's cop show!
