My grandfather was a soldier from the 1930s to just after the Korean war, We're Filipino and since the Phil has been more or less under the US, his uniforms looks similar to these (Except ofcourse them being a bit smaller, we are generally smaller) and I even have his WWII helmet well preserved, it's amazing how the normal uniform evolved from something like a formal coat to a more comfortable and forward thinking uniform with easy to reach pouches and sachels

Everything happens for a reason! I bought a demil Madsen light machine gun from the owner of Recon Vintage Militaria. We got to talking about WW1 and he mentioned to me that he had a demil Chauchat. I've been working on this video for at least three years now in one capacity or another. I immediatly thought of getting it into this as soon as he said it. I was very grateful that the gentlemen was kind enough to let me borrow it for this video. I'm hoping to do a colab with him for a WW1 video in the near future. Keep your fingers crossed! He has a lot more cool stuff then just that Chauchat, that's just scratching the surface!

What I’m curious about the Vietnam era uniforms especially during Hue City is do marines wore suspenders or just their belt with their gear on it since they are wearing flak jackets and from the looks of it, they seemed to hinder the pouches due to its length
@Brent03312 жыл бұрын
I think the majority wore suspenders underneath the flak. Load bearing equipment on just the belt weigh down quite a bit. Although things like canteens and bayonets could be hung directly off of the M1910 wire hangers at the bottom of the flak, the ammunition pouches of the time, could not be.
