With the announcement of the Booster Course Pass came a lot of renewed interest in playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. A lot of the more casual fans returned to a game that was not what they once remembered it to be. It was now a game they thought needed some changing. And thus, a war broke out between them and the people who had turned the game into a nightmare for them. Nintendo made a clear decision earlier this year by choosing a side. However, a winner has still not been declared. Neither has a loser. Ultimately, both sides got what they wanted, and also what they didn't want.
Today we explore one of the lesser seen perspectives about the Waluigi + Wiggler arguments. The side from a competitive player that wanted to protect the game he loved, not Waluigi himself. In doing so we will acknowledge why many fans didn't want what seemed like a no brainer update to the masses, how it turned out better than expected, but also where a lot of things predictably went wrong. In a world where we aren't sure who won the war, one thing is clear: neither side really knew what they were fighting for. It would probably just be best if people listened to each other moving forward instead of making enemies.
