In Nintendo's defense in regard to the lack of extra details with the themed GameCube controllers, a lot of the controller's identity is tied into the colors of the buttons & C-Stick. Changing them would make for a weird looking controller, whereas the WiiMote was always more of a blank slate begging to be personalized.

I personally think that the peach one looks the best. While the mario and luigi ones feel the most like their chracters, they still clash wity the yellow and brown on green/red and feel a bit boring with how the jacket is the same colour as the res of it. The peach one has a wonderful combination of 2 different pinks, blue, white and even the yellow fits nicely. (Its also the only one i own]
