The Mark of the Beast in its Context

It's Halloween and it's a time we look at all things spooky - and the Bible has plenty of those! Today we're look at the Mark of the Beast - the infamous 666 (or is it 616?). What is this number and why is it associated with evil? How did it get that association? We will explore how the ancient readers of Revelation may have understood this number and the riddle around it. While we present a few options we know this is not exhaustive and a lot of opinions exist on this. This isn't meant to be a definitive end-all discussion of this subject - only a jumping off point to dig deeper into the original context of this passage. Let's dig in.

666 most likely represented nero at a time when using his real name in disrespect was a criminal offense and since nero had a habit of murdering people, jews and christians alike used this to talk about him without being persecuted. But not even the romans liked nero, so this “mark of the beast” just became a reference to persecutory emperors of later years.

No, it was a key referring to king Solomon and his taxation of 666 talents of gold and so on more or less over taxing everyone and leading his kingdom to its own downfall. It was being used as a metaphor that Rome and its ruling families were following the same course (which it did) and would collapse under its own weight (which it did).

Here's the way I was taught to interpret 666. First and foremost, 666 is six hundred sixty, and six (600 60 and 6). Understanding is given through precepts. What book, chapter, and verses give more understanding to these numbers? 600 is when God floods earth to destroy man for evil thoughts. 60 is when man worships man as God (King of Babylon). 6 is when man was created. In other words, man worshipping man as God (idolatry) leads to divine wrath and punishment. Satan is the father of lies; therefore, an idol is a symbol of Satan. 600 60 and 6 ultimately sums up to the complete and total worship of Satan. 666 = Satan.

The Bible is about sons of El (Elohim). (not to be confused with Genesis 6 "sons of Elohim" which are sons of the false Elohim from Genesis 2) If you read or were told that the Bible is about God (El) that's...not wrong... but still has been altered/changed from the original Word which is Elohim. It's incredibly important that nobody alter or change scriptures so the meaning is not lost. Now everyone thinks the Bible itself is the Word of God instead of Elohim from Genesis 1. What a contradictory mess. Keep in mind that Elohim has two uses. One is in the plural context (gods) and one in the possessive context (God's). How do I know this? I just use the definitions of the Latin counterparts of God's titles which weren't "syncretized" by the harlot of Babylon. The Hebrews originally said "the Names of God are too Holy to be read or spoken aloud"...then, they altered/changed scriptures. Everyone's Bibles are copies of copies of altered/changed scripture from Babylon; inserting the Tetragrammaton in place of Yahweh’s stupid Name and syncretizing God's titles to just mean El (God). For millenia before the Old Testament the word Elohim always and only meant "sons of El". "In the beginning Elohim created heaven and earth"...(is what you should see in your Bibles if they cared about Truth). Use the NOG translation it's on Bible Gateway. Uncensored. The Bible originally introduced Yahweh as an Elohim (Deity), not El (Deus). Yahweh says "I am Yahweh your Elohim" like a thousand times in the OT. The "no two powers in heaven" argument was argued by people whose Bibles say "El" everywhere instead of "Elohim", nullifying the argument. Yahweh Elohim from Genesis 2 was adopted into the Bronze Age pantheon of Israel (Canaan) from the broader Levantine polytheism. That's the false Elohim. Please Google Yahweh’s historical religion called Yahwism its a polytheistic religion of Iron Age Israelites. The Mt Ebal curse tablet has YHWH "Yahweh" as just YHW "Yaw". This is the same as Yaw from the Baal Cycle who was originally named Yam (Canaanite word for Sea). The purpose of the Bible is knowing Good from Evil, Truth from the Lie and Genesis 1 Chosen (Christ in Latin) Elohim from Genesis 2 adopted, false Yahweh Elohim. The clever snake in Genesis 3 knew Elohim (title) from Yahweh Elohim (name)...

In my entire life I have never seen this "mark of the beast" on any individual. Does that mean every one I have met is NOT under some demonic spell? Or does it mean that no such "mark" exists and you are sorely mistaken? Uhmm let me think. Which makes more sense? I will have to go with the latter idea. You are sorely mistaken. LOL. Good luck.
