When I look back at my past worship, I think I made a shew in the flesh and I didn't know truly how to worship a God I could not see and didn't know personally I did all the things I was taught, like attending church , paying tithes , cleaned the church, went to bible study wed evenings, I just never could seem to get close to God it seemed. Then I left the church and was a lone ranger for a number of years, tried going to different services but I just couldn't find what I was looking for. I Tried the Baptists, Pentecostal, Church of God, Calvary Fellowship, but None made an impact so that I felt right as I was afraid about the worship. I had to begin worship every day in my own home first, as everywhere else, I felt like I was impeded in one way or another. Worship is important to me, but daily not just when we gather together. I don't want to be seen worshiping, does that sound strange? I don't mean that I am afraid, or proud, on the contrary, I just want to worship God in Spirit and in truth and not like I used to as I wasn't sincere as I never knew God then, like I know God and am still learning in Him.

Barb Dallaire My experience has been much the same as yours. I don’t worship God from a hyped up orchestrated position. I used to for many years in church - it was that slot at the beginning of a meeting that the congregation filled. One day in a meeting I stood up with everyone else and the Lord clearly prompted me to sit down, which I did. What I learned was this “Pray UNTIL you pray, praise UNTIL you praise and worship UNTIL you worship”. In other words all these three things start with one’s true heart’s intention for intimacy with God. It’s not just something you do, it’s something that arises from where you are in Christ, which leads you to that holy place of genuineness.

@@jenniebugs1 - Thank you for your reply to Barb which helped me. Having come from an abusive family of origin where I was told as a child that God didn't like me & that He would "get" me one day. (Like strike me with lightning) I lived in fear & believed lies. (The last time my Dad hit me I was 35) l found out late in life that Heavenly Father actually loves me & wants nothing but good for me! Now I want all legalism & wrong teaching to be purged from me & I want a close relationship with Jesus. Please be in prayer for me

In 2010 my 17 year old daughter was worship leading in a church in Fiji. We experienced an open Heaven, we audibly heard Angels singing. The greater works, an open Heaven are 'seen' by those without deceit.

David, a true worshipper was wearing a priestly garment when he returned The Glory back to God's people but there's always a Michal who despises it and becomes barren because she is of her father, the devil.

Photini, the woman at the well came to the 'place' with worship on her heart. She spoke the truth and received the truth. Jesus revealed Himself to her when His disciples were clueless.

Danielle Somerfield, I am not quite sure why you were expelled from that particular church, but I would urge you to read Psalm 119; The Gospel Of Matthew, 7: 15-23; The Acts Of The Apostles, 17: 10-12 & 18: 24-28; Epistle 2 Of Timothy, 4: 1-6; Epistle 2 Of Peter, 2: 1-3; and Epistle 1 Of John, 4: 1-6, and I hope that this helps you!

You can tell those who have a religious spirit, they are the ones who tap you on the shoulder and ask you to move away from the altar.
