this is a very emotional song that means alot to me. even though it was meant to communicate the feeling of loss and dissapearence, kidnap, i just get a different vibe. brings me back to certain moments in my life i hope i never forget.

It don't matter, man! Do fucking hear that voice?! Dam! This band is soo amazing! they're music actually give s me the chills & makes me feel high... if you just lay & listen...it'll take you on a crazy trip....My mind becomes so out of worldly, so zoned...into a land of imagination...they have such a mystery to they're music! & the music is insanely enhanced when loud, and add extra Bass...Oh, fuck yeah!

Their genius does not lie in their polyrhythms and complexity. It manifests itself in many forms, but most of all in melody. Still no one comes close to music like this. I can see why you might not like it; the aural assault that was BIG was not particularly to my taste. Hopefully we will all discover the genius of Octahedron.

Man these guys just blow my mind at every turn. with the crap that is released regularlly by rock/metal band has been so sophmorish.The Mars Volta is a gift of beauty and melody with skilled players. Looking forward to seeing them next wednesday at the HOuse of Blues in Boston!!! They will rock the house

@PuReNiRvANA1 Well, he just treats his voice like a guitar with effects pedals and everything. Infact, he uses guitar pedals hooked up to a mic off to the side. He sings everything live, and I know this, because I've watched them live. Check out the song "Sarcophagi" if you want to hear a great example of his voice. He just uses reverb and stuff on some songs much like Pink Floyd would on songs like "Careful With That Axe Eugene". I suggest "De-Loused In The Comatorium" if you're to TMV.
@MTVrocks14 жыл бұрын
@PuReNiRvANA1 I've never seen them live so I'm not completely sure but I do know from live videos he uses some chorus effect on his voice. Not sure if this is what you are referring to? Besides a lot of singers fine tune their voices in the studio and a lot do during live performances as well. Anyways I'm fairly sure cedric doesn't auto-tune his voice live.

@Stardestroya: The way that they are most similar to Led Zeppelin is innovation. It is certainly true that the high soaring vocals and punishing guitar recall Plant and Page; much like the obscure and sometimes convoluted lyrics remind one of the same obscurity and pretentiousness that "prog" rock has often dealt with. However, the genius of both Mars Volta and Led Zeppelin is that they have no predecessors. Sure they have influences, but the results they created are truly unique.
