One of my favorites- the Mariner missions don't get nearly enough recognition! Thanks for this 😊

those JPL documentaries are top notch :) first close pictures of Mars must've been incredible to experience

These missions seem like an interesting learning experience, from the way opinionated scientists get along with each other, to how to design spacecraft that are going to do what we need, to interpreting results and separating speculation from more solid info… just all across the board. Very interesting! Thanks for bringing it to us.

Very interesting. Typical of the 'fly on the wall' style of Drew Associates. Thanks for posting. 05:12 - 'Nix Olympica' was later found to be (thanks to Mariner 9 in 1971) an instinct volcano, now known as Olympus Mons.

"an instinct volcano"? I think you meant extinct volcano.

Interesting to see the early missions and the rush to announce preliminary results. They don’t fly JPL scientists on helicopters to get to press conferences anymore.
