Oh my God ... To watch my hero Ridley Scott one of the best film makers of all time discuss his film with such a cool cast is really amazing .. However as a sound engineer I nearly died every time the person engineering the sound for this press conference was so slow at bringing up the sound levels for the person speaking ( I hope they sacked this engineer straight after the press conference ) . This really ruined this clip for me . Maybe someone should teach him if he mixes the sound correctly he can leave all the mics on at once , duh !!

The Russian writer Mikhail Roshodnikov accused of plagiarism authors of the film "Martian" and filed a lawsuit against the company 20th Century Fox. You clearly only saw the trailer. That line needs some more context to be understood. The _direct_ context was that he found out that by growing plants, he officially "colonized" Mars, an accomplishment no astronaut could claim before him. Hence the nudge to the obvious predecessor pioneers. This isn't disrespect; as fellow astronaut the main character knows the importance of their accomplishment very well, and like every astronaut, aspires to be as great as them. The broader context, which you so blatantly ignore, is that this is the story of a man trying to keep his spirits up while trapped all alone on Mars.
