Agreed. I saw Star Wars in the theater. 15 times. My female cousin who was a year older than me went with me every time. The adults had to rotate because one or the other of us would beg to go see it again.

Yeah, these stories used to be liked by boys and girls who like boyish stuff, but now it's like they took it away from both those audiences and gave it to middle aged women who never even wanted superhero stuff. Now no one watches.

I love to despise their laziness, but I hate being depressed over studios' hubris to deny that *the customer is always right.* They are even happier to lose the faith of their real audience, for a fake audience that exists, but is not strong enough to keep their brands alive. This may be a reason why Dan Povenmire made Phineas and Ferb and Milo Murphy's Law with male lead characters when most of Disney Channel's other shows have female lead characters, and he made Hamster and Gretel a female-led superhero cartoon show that our world definitely needed much more than The CW's lame Powerpuff show that never was.😇 Dan Povenmire knows how to make boy brands that girls like with Phineas and Ferb, and girl brands that boys like with Hamster and Gretel. Meanwhile, Daron Nefcy and Matt Braly were also good at making other girl brands that boys like on Disney Channel with Star vs. the Forces of Evil and Amphibia. The Phineas and Ferb episode Brain Drain will remind us that corporate media shills who defend woke Hollywood flops like Ghostbusters 2016 and The Marvels and Madam Web are all metaphorical platypuses who try to control us and keep us down from seeing through their lies. Yes delusional Hollywood hasent understood that film companies have never been against female ledd movies, when there is the Alien movie from 1979, that is female ledd and still became popular movie among men. The diffrence is that female charchters need to be likeable and not have obnoxious arrogant personality where they think their all best and they should not be mary sue charchters, that are all powerful and nothing challenge to them. Delusional Hollywood just hasent understood that there is nothing wrong with female charchters, if their well written. Most boys still like to go watch likeable male superhero movies and girls also follow suit, because they enjoy these movies also. Girl ledd movies that only girls want to watch and become succesful are princess movies, like the barbie, but obnoxious girl ledd superhero movies girls dont care about, if they dont care about the obnoxious main charchter, that has nothing special in herself.

@@MrJellyton That's the problem with superhero movies in general. THey aren't timeless. They're deeply rooted in american war propaganda, and the stories always just involve the world being saved by aristocratic men or of supernatural ability (a la obermensch). As soon as that nichéd idea of storytelling and humanity goes out of style we'll see how fast the genre will decompose into an object of ridicule and judgement. Fact is, if it weren't for tasteless moviegoers' affinity for CGI-action, these films would never have lifted off to meet their former success. In 2 decades, not a single masterpiece or work worthy of remembrance has been crafted by traditional Mavel or DC comics. But we have the boys that turned that mediocre crap on its head, and that's why it surpasses 20 years of hollywood selling fan-service to nerds.

It is to make money from ESG, to reinforce the central narratives of modern secular America, and to galvanize the culture war so you don’t notice the deep state and their corporate allies plugging your starfish on the daily. No, Disney doesn’t really give a rat’s ass about transformers, the alphabet lobby, istaphobes, or whatever else the current thing is at any given moment. But you and the other side do, and as long as you’re pointing your metaphorical rifles at them and they at you, you’re not pointing at the people robbing you blind, destroying your currency, and setting you and your children up for eternal wage slavery and renting everything down to the very air you breathe.

I have a different idea on what the problems with Disney right now are that most people commenting here (I think blaming it all on "wokeness" is missing the bigger picture), but I'm very glad to see this fail, and I hope people stop seeing anything Marvel, Star Wars, or live-action remakes of the animated classics. The only way Disney will change is if it hits them in the pocketbook. Fans may have hated the Star Wars sequel trilogy, but they were the most commercially successful trilogy of the three, and that's all Disney cares about. As long as people are going to see the garbage, that's what they will continue to produce. Disney has had it's low moments before and has reinvented itself and it can do so again. They just need to be shown that what they have been doing isn't what audiences want.

"You reach the most people by making good stories...not taking them." A wonderful quote. I felt like applauding the entire way through this episode. I sure hope the US gets back to sanity soon. Just think of all of the missed and wasted opportunities...all of the good movies that we, could have, seen. Entitlement is weird. People think that they deserve success when they haven't earned it...when they haven't done the work or produced the content. Some people are desperate for Captain America and Spider-man to be black. Why? If he's black, HE ISN'T EVEN CAPTAIN AMERICA OR SPIDER-MAN. He's just a guy walking around pretending to be. It's exactly as if some average half-talented actor demanded to be equally as successful as Jimmy Stewart, so he just started remaking all of Jimmy Stewart's movies with himself in them and then had the temerity to get angry when no one showed up at the theater to watch his movies. It's like standing up on a stage playing air guitar...the difference being that most people who play air guitar know how stupid they look. These people though get mad. It's just insanity. Another comparison? Standing on the shoulders of giants and peeing on their heads? Another? Painting graffiti on the Mona Lisa and being honestly surprised when everyone is angry at you about it. Another? Milli Vanilli? Comics have been around since the 1930s. They've had their ups and downs, but they've always been there. There was a little bit of super-hero fatigue after World War II, but there were all sorts of fatigue back then. Aside from that, there have always been super-hero stories since the 1930s and on. There is no such thing as super-hero fatigue. Bad story fatigue though, there is plenty. Give us good stories again and you will get your audience back almost immediately. Suggestion: get the creeps out of your corporations....all of your corporations, and life will get sane again...almost immediately. Throw the creeps out!

I’m not sure who in Hollywood woke up one day and decided that movies aren’t diverse enough but they have been extremely diverse since the 80s. We are actually over represented in most movies. We make up 14% of the population but you wouldn’t think that watching movies including those made in the damn 90s! There was never a diversity issue! Or a gender issue! Please stop forcing diversity into movies! In the 90s and 2000s I never thought a black character was in a movie because they were black. I always believed their characters. Now it’s so forced that you can tell when a black person is just placed there to fulfill a diversity quota. It’s actually insulting. I never thought about race and gender when watching movies but now that’s all I see because Hollywood is obsessed with it.

I agree!! Im an average old white guy and I have included and watched black oriented movies even back in the 70s and enjoyed them...matter of fact, even recently, I LOVED the The Harder They Fall(top 3 westerns of all time in my book)..GREAT MOVIE...but the force-fed hollywood script is growing old..I NEVER thought about the diversity when watching black main/supporting characters in ANY movie UNTIL these past few years when hollywood idiots made it an issue! I dont mind inclusiveness but when it is blatantly forced then it turns me away! Its so IN YOUR FACE and DIVISIVE!

Here in the UK it's the same thing. Every advert now has a black person in it, even though the country is 95% white. I didn't care about black actors anymore than I cared about white rappers in the music industry. Hollywood made and designed this issue which has backfired to a point it's losing them money and a fan base that are happy to watch movies pre M-SHE-U.

Ironman came out in 2008, I was 24. Amazing storytelling followed by amazing charater introductions and weaving a universe we could not stay away from. Never bothered if the characters were male or female. It was just a matter of great storeytelling, amazing characters and kickass actors which gave this franchise wings to fly higher than any other… Endgame ended it for us in 2019. I was 35. Marvel has not done anything after that to keep those origanl fans like us to stay hooked. All our favorite characters are dead or decommissioned. It is not anti-feminism, anti-woke, anti-anything. It just that - it doesnt matter anymore. And by the time they “might” build up to something significant we might get close to 50s. So thanks for those amazing movies, but it’s time to sign off. That is the case with global market with some variation in the narrative, like age group etc. DEI, woke, feminism are problems of the USA, they are not a major thing outside to make or break a movie. People are simply switching off as the act following that of the Avengers saga has been pretty boring, uneventful and creatively dismal.

Well, to be fair, over in Hollywood there should be _some_ extra privileges available currently. Although auditions are more or less pure luck, you should have around 1%-2% more success rate to be accepted into a blockbuster rule - even if it's just background role as a beginner. Though I truly wonder, are background characters actually all learned actors or do you need also need an acting degree to be a background character?

I was technician on many of the earlier MCU feature films, I literally saw the start of this while working on Avengers End Game. Several months after Principal photography was completed we were informed that there would be several months of re-shoots and I came back to do these. Most of the scenes were related to the final battle scene which we shot for some time, one of the last pieces we did on that set was the she-power section. It seemed like an afterthought at the time, but I think that it may have been a special request from the top execs just based on the shooting order.

They grew up feeling like outsiders and outcasts, feeling like they were on the edges of so;ci;ety - again, whether they were or not. Making flicks like these is a form of therapy for them. Beyond that, however, the billionaires providing the money for these flicks do it for the purposes of influencing the opinions of the masses; so;ci!etal con;diti;oning, in other words. I’ve been saying since the introduction of “forced diversity”, if production companies/directors just gosh dang films based off the material, they’d be alright. But they go and decide to switch out everything that made the source material what it was just cuz some suit wants to pander to a small demographic while at the same time getting the money from the primary demographic and they mess up the entire mythos of why said material is classic. The source material can work on the level we’re expecting it to, if they quit poorly changing it. At this point of the MCU, if they decided to green light a squirrel girl movie or Disney+ show, they’d go and switch up the main protagonist or erase key mythos of the character or add in some nonsense to appease a very minute and small demographic. Or go overboard on making it “woke”.

Me too. I grew up with Superman and Batman cartoons from the 90s and the 1978 Superman movie and back in the early 00s in my city of Switzerland not only it was impossible to get comics but also super heroes were heavily disrespected and their (very, veeeeery, rare) fans openly mocked. So when the Dark Knight came out for me it was a major change. Suddently comics were FINALLY available in mainstream libraries (even if the lack of respect was still here. Imagine the mangas having their own sections while the comics (including stuff like, V for Vendetta or the killing joke) where tossed in a messy way in a little corner litteraly next to the 2-5 years old book section ...) and suddently I started to hear in real life things like "Batman is amazing !" or "Super heroes can be complex !" and I even started to intend conventions (before that it was explicitly only allowed to manga fans. Yes, even the manga fans were acting like c*nts back then.). And when the MCU started I gradually saw more and more people liking comics and met people who were not judging me at all. It was amazing. For the first time I really felt normal and able to openly talk about my passions and afford real physical comic books and not having to read low quality scans online. So it is really a shame it is not continuing. I really hope the upcoming Superman movie will be great so we could have less quantity and more quality.

It always facsinates me when they call the fans "toxic fans". That's an oxymoron if I ever heard one. Fans are fans, period. If they are unhappy with what has been produced thats on the film makers. Calling the fans toxic because they don't like what you did is pathetic. It would be like saying "sour sugar!"

As a Tolkien fan since age 5, it warms my heart to hear Nerdrotic compliment us on how we stood against a multi billion dollar company, and as he put it, "soundly beat them!" However, I don't feel like a Tolkien character right now, right now I feel like a Spartan. This is a war, and we must take back our childhoods. So to quote a Spartan, "Give them nothing, but take from them everything!" Let's bury the woke agenda once and for all!!!

i only watched Captain Marvel because 1. We were curious. - Marvel comics isnt really popular here. it is so expensive, it costs around 100 to 200 pesos a copy, our minimum wage is around 200 to 500. so we dont know what CM's abilities were. 2. Why Nick Fury's last resort was to call CM. - We wondered why Nick did that when he was about to die. And why was he sure CM wont be affected by that Thanos snap? Was there something that immunizes her form that? 3. it was sandwiched between Infinity War and End Game. - we thought in order to understand the finale of Thanos, we need to watch the premise of CM. Is she the chosen one that will kill Thanos? i bet, if Captain Marvel premiered before infinity war such as Captain America 1 or Iron Man 3, CM movie wont even make it to billion, maybe Incredible Hulk level of box office or The Amazing Spider-man 2 level of box office.

The thing with Echo, though, is it depends on how they portray Kingpin in the series, and what the Kingpin-Echo dynamic will be. The lead actress is ALREADY fighting an uphill battle because she's in a failing cinematic universe, with a checked-out fanbase and audience who have ALREADY shown that interest in the MCU is fading rapidly. Even if the Kingpin actor gives HALF a performance of what he has before, the series will be watchable JUST because of his villainous acts, plus imagine what a truly gifted writer and director could REALLY do with a mentor figure like the Kingpin, and someone who would look up to someone like that.

If you have almost 900,000 subs, I would hope that at least 75% of us either didnt see the movie or demanded our money back if we did see it. The primary consumer base for superhero comics and sci-fi has always been nerdy White teenage boys. The entertainment industry made a fortune selling those products to that base for decades, and everyone was happy and made a lot of money. Then Disney foolishly told that consumer base to F off and tried selling those products to Tumblr girls. And guess what? Disney found out the hard way that Tumblr girls don't like superhero comics and sci-fi. Disney lost billions of dollars and ruined multiple extremely valuable IPs because they went gigastupid.

I wish Disney executives paid attention to your opinions and assessments of their failures but they don't and won't see it that way. Putting out films the fans of Marvel etc would enjoy runs counter to why Disney bought the IPs in the first place. Mechandising. I have seen it first hand with my own grandchildren. These films are really just extended ads for the toys that follow. While the number of films and TV shows will be cut back, ostensibly to save money, the quality will continue to decline and the intersectionalism combined with massive doses of identity related themes will continue to expand as those are the folks Disney wants to reach.

She was cast, not hired. Disney wants those Oscar nominations, even though the Oscars are meaningless now, the insane rules and requirements for a movie to even be NOMINATED are now in full effect, they said it would be permanent in 2024, but then the writers strike and actors strike happened and for once God was listening. The Oscars will have literally nothing to nominate in February now. So like biological women refusing to compete with "trans women" no one will be be competing because everyone with a brain and common sense has left the building, leaving Disney to win by default. Which they will count as win, it will mean nothing and be hollow but they will act like it's the best thing in the world.
