I wish there was a directors cut, damn. These scenes added a lot of context to why Elena feels restricted and how great a rider and swordsman she is and how she finds out the truth about her parents, where the Zorros got funds to sustain themselves, the playfulness between Alejandro and Don Diego, more of the hottest dance in cinematic history, more context to Don Luis, shows more of the mindset of Rafael who sought power more than riches and that he truly believes in his mind Elena is his daughter, despite everything.
@GirlGolden43 жыл бұрын
I would have loved to see an intimate and sweet convo between Diego and Elena about her past-like them having a tender father-daughter moment in which he explains everything to her-how much he and her mother loved each other, how much her mother loved her, how much he loved Elena, what her mother was like, what they all loved to do together, etc. It’s so sad he died before that could happen 😩 but I could’ve seen it added in, like they meet in private or something to tell/get the truth.

These scenes would quietly fit into the movie, they would act as intermediate scenes before others (we can assume the scene of Love telling the guards what to do is before the chasing of zorro to the mine, and the one when Montero slaps him is before they leave), that add some more personality such as Montero being jealous and liar toward Helena just for his own image, and focused on power rather than money, her being strong and smart, Love being male chauvinist and crazy, not only cruel and cold-blooded. Even Luis gets some info about him, showing he is alongside Montero just for richness. These are little scenes that could have fitted into the movie, being even short

One film I would love to make would be a prequel, and also a remake of the 1940 film “The Mark of Zorro”. Basically a young Diego de la Vega becomes “el Zorro” for the first time, as he champions the downtrodden people against a corrupt Alcalde.
@hdna122 жыл бұрын
That would’ve been a great prequel wish they could’ve done it after The Legend Of Zorro I really didn’t enjoy The Legend of Zorro mainly because it went from a PG-13 rating to a PG rating. If only Martin Campbell who directed both Mask And Legend of Zorro would direct The Mark Of Zorro it would be great I know after Legend Of Zorro he would go on and direct the First Daniel Craig James Bond film Casino Royal (2006).
@andrewgardiner10772 жыл бұрын
@@hdna12 For a framing device, I’d have Alejandro and Elena discover Diego’s old diary. Then it would flash back to about 20 years before the opening scene of “The Mask of Zorro,” where a 23-year-old Diego leaves a ship and arrives at Alta California.
