Well. That was unexpected, but not really. I was sitting here listening while pretending to get some paperwork done and my 5yo granddaughter wanders in, tugs at my sleeve, and whispers "He sounds spooky. I like it. It tickles inside by my heart when he talks." Then she curled up next to me and had me play it again. She is not wrong. Thank you, Mr. Castellucci for another excellent bedtime story. The Brain Gremlins forget to fight when you're narrating story time. I'm pretty sure you could read ingredients labels and it would be entrancing... soothing... captivating...

Geoff reads and I can see Vincent Price, I watch this movie every October along with many others for Halloween. This movie came out in theaters in 1964. I was only 10yrs old and loved every minute. I absolutely loved Vincent's maniacal laugh.

My favorite Edgar Allen Poe story. With Geoff's voice, it really brings the sense of pervasive dread (present in most of Poe's short stories) to sinister life. The only narration I have heard comparable to this, in my 30 odd years of life, is from the (now gone) KZbin narrator Nordic Vampire.

It is amazing to me how Geoff's voice can walk the line between soothing and spooky, and yes I do have sweet dreams when falling asleep right after listening to this narration ❤️ I always end up dreaming about a lavish party, proberly at the palace of the last tzar of Russia, because the dream ends with Rasputin coming in and ruin the party just before my alarm clock goes off.

I love Mr Poes work, and grew up listening to his work with Mr Vincent Price doing his work. Mr Prices voice made this come to life with macabre darkness; BUT you Mr Castellucci have revived this work marvelously! Thanks for the memories......

I would love hearing him reading the ballad of "John Maynard", which is very famous in Germany and has been translated into English in the 90s. It was written by Theodor Fontane. The warm tone of his voice.....you get addicted to it !!!

I just found Geoff and love his voice, but I have a feeling that part of the draw is how he is producing his audio. I'm listening on a Fiio E10K DAC(bass boost set to off) and Sivga SV021 headphones and I am hearing rumble accompanied by slight digital audio artifacts in the 30hz range. I think he's adding low reverb or an expander or something to help emphasize his depth and I'm not sure how I feel about it lol. He seems to have a beautiful deep voice to begin with, no need for processing. Then again, T-Pain can sing his heart out and sound amazing and uses autotune to augment and create his own sound. Not trying to start anything, just putting my thoughts out there with what I am hearing to see if others hear it as well. I am highly enjoying the content, Thank you for making it Mr. Castellucci! EDIT: Just watched his video on how to sing low and he started talking about how to add growl to your vocals and it sounded like the 30hz sound I was hearing. So never mind what I was saying above lol.

Hi Geoff, I love all your work. I usually don't manifest in the comments but this time I have a question I would like you, if you see this, to answer, please (I hate disturbing so its ok if you dont). So I am confortably singing in the bass range. My voice range is from C2 to C4 (singable, no subharmonics, no falsetto) and everyone tell me I sound deep for a 16 years old. Though, I do not sound like a bass and when people hear me (the ones that know a bit about human voice) tell me I'm baritone. The thing is i can go lower than C2. It just becomes harder to pint point the exact note and sing it as I have never practiced my voice. But the fourth octave isn't a thing I can sing easily. I can go to a C5 no falsetto but it is not singable at all. And fourth octave isn't comfortable to me. Everyone (my friends or ppl in vrchat) tell me I'm baritone so they want me to sing songs that dont go below E2. I am just asking here, I know my voice will change as I'm only 16 but, is there another way than lowering your larynx to sound "deep" or "sounding bass"? I think not but I still ask in case. Hello there! I'm not Geoff Castellucci, but a student who studies estrade singing and used to study academic singing, when I was on the first year of college. I've listened to a few of your videos where you speak, and, up to me, you sound somewhere about high bass-baritone. The lower part of your range (singable C2) is pretty damn low and impressive, but voicetypes are more about the tone of voice rather than range, and your tone of voice is of a solid bass-baritone. Answering your question "is there another way to sound bassish?". Well, there isn't much you can do, just don't force anything, try to get to your lows in the most "natural" way, drink a water when you're singing for a long time straight. Also, give subharmonics a try. They can sound pretty "chesty", they aren't more dangerous to attempt without vocal coach compared to regular singing, and they can add at least half an octave of usable and resonant range below the bottom of your chest range. And yeah, don't forget about the highs, try going into 4th octave a bit, after warming up properly, and you probably will gain ~2+ full tones of usable upper range in a few months. It's good to improve your range in both directions. !!! *If you fell discomfort or even pain while singing it's better to stop and try again later*. If you want to learn vocals in serious way, it would be perfect to learn singing with helf from a good vocal coach who will guide you on how to make progress as far as possible and not to hurt yourself accidently. @@Zines fry and subharmonics aren't the same, so if you've spoken with fry/chest-fry it might be a little easier to learn subharmonics, but still difficult to master them. Also, no-one should hate his own voice. Of course every voicetype is different from the others, and true basses and tenors are rare compared to baritones, this is what makes basses bass-baritones and tenors tenor-baritone unique among the most of the people. Any voicetype has its stronger and weaker sides, thus is why every voicetype is interesting in its own way, no reason to hate any if them. I hope you don't hate your voice anymore.
