I also played at launch, the combat is fun but the plot is a bit too familiar/lazzy. Still worth the buy a shame they did not release the DLC they promissed us.

I woupd love to see Ryder again he would be a good for the player because if the milkey way is so advanced now they will have to explain all this new technology and Ryder being in cryo for 600 years would need to catch up. Thats one of the many reasons i would I want him back as the main character. Soilid game 8.5/10

I think due to the reception of Andromeda that Ryder will not be the main character going forward but of course I could be wrong but I doubt it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Andromeda still to this day one of my favorite games. Top 5. Inquisition is also in my top 5. The gameplay in Andromeda I love so much. I quite enjoy the story too.

A youtuber? In my city? Its more likely then you think. Lol I love andromeda, it really felt like true exploration to me. It filled me with so many feels, I was tearing up during the credits (just like ME3 lol). The credits song is also an amazing song (still gives me the feels), reminds me of the M83 soundtrack to Oblivion. Its not a perfect game.... but no where near deserves the criticism level it gets. Also the combat was literally perfect to me, the perfect incarnation of mass effect combat. It feels epic/intuitive/God tear/exiting/effective, honestly its the best. And mixing class skills as you please is perfect as well, its so much more customizable. Hearing Liara also made me tear up, like a time capsule. An as my mind lives in whatever video game I'm playing, the 600+ years made the feeling all the more prescient!

I really enjoyed playing Andromeda at launch. However, playing it right after a ME Legendary run I had to stop at Eos. The dialogue is childish and Ryder doesn’t really have a back bone. The fighting mechanics are enjoyable though.

I personally really enjoy Andromeda. The gameplay and combat are great. I love being able to mix and match powers and you can do some pretty crazy stuff with the weapon crafting. Yeah the story wasn't top notch but if they wouldn't have dropped the game so fast they could have easily fleshed things out. The Quarian ark dlc would have been amazing and I would have loved all the additional races added to multiplayer. I don't get people's complaints about space exploration games. The first Mass Effect was criticized because all the buildings on the different planets looked the same or had the same layout. While a lot of this was due to technical limitations. I always thought of it like the government or corporations would be mass producing basic or container like structures that could just be plopped down on different planets. It's not like everyone is getting a custom built space home. I remember people criticizing Andromeda for there not being enough to do in the open world. You are exploring uncharted or very sparsely populated worlds it's not like you are in a huge mega city. I personally enjoyed driving around the map and finding things or just enjoying the scenery and the banter between my squad mates. Could there have been a lot more put into Andromeda? Definitely, but considering the game was basically thrown together in 18 months I'm surprised they got as much right as they did. Like you said this game was always fighting an uphill battle because of how amazing the trilogy is. I just wish that they would have delayed the Andromeda launch by at least a year. I think it would have done much better and been much more fleshed out. I will always be a little bitter about not getting the Quarian ark dlc. The Quarian race has always been one of my favorites and the Quarian characters in the ME3 multiplayer were awesome. The Mass Effect universe is just incredible and I can't wait for the next game. Unless of course the game is not in a finished and polished state. Then, yes I can wait. Finish the game BioWare, don't screw this one up. Love your content my friend, keep up the great work!

The galaxies colliding won't do much to people even if they're alive. So long as you're on a planet. You might have the night stars replaced with explosions and supermassive clouds of fire looking a bit like aurora borealis.

Cool video. I did wonder though how many of that 5 million Andromeda games were returned unfinished or 'unsatisfied ' as players comments. Eg, the 1st game in the OT I played was number 2,having downloaded the 'demo version '. Then the demo version of 3... I went and bought both 1 and 3 having almost completed 3 (I know... Weird) lol

In the Dyson sphere narrative. The reapers are just like the geth but they have always existed. The geth would be the upstarts. Similar to humans learning the ropes

Andromeda is the game that introduced me to the ME trilogy and so my thoughts about it are different then the whole and it wasn't my favorite, but without it I wouldn't have known about the trilogy.

Atleast it wasn't like Dragon Age II... Imagine, the prolouge is you leaving the nexus as an outcast with no voice, the tutorial has you fighting Kett out of all things, and you leave for kadara leaving your sibling behind, until you meet a very handsome Reyes, and a very alluring Varri.. Imean Vetra who get you adjusted to the criminal underground.. if expanding on Kadara was the whole point of Act 2 with side quests, Act 1 doesn't have any main missions just side missions that make you be Sloane Kelly's goon just for enough money to buy a house, after you meet Jaal who is like an alien confident between milky way species and thecAngaran but he slowly detests humans, the final mission in Act 1 will be finding a secret lair under the abandoned house you buy full of Kett objects, the Kett themselves won't be explained until the games sequel. (there will be a cool mission at the end where you find Archons device in your house by its last owner) so ACT 2 has to pick up the slack and sets you up with Reyes and all his missions, you can romance him as well even though he isn't a follower, which is pointless because Act 3 has a different storyline as well, the side missions for Act 2 would be a bit more creative, as you interact with all the citizens of Kadara port and be known as the good side of Sloanes bad. (This will mostly be wasted potential as this could feed way more into the stories main plot and setting) and the disease from the "Contagion" SIDE quest "would kill your mom" basically infects someone with a huge character role in a MAIN mission in Act 3. Like sure there were a few side quests about poisons, and viruses all the way back, but for the outcome is to off (or not) a main follower near the end of Act 3? And just so happens when the Roekar plot kicks in, (if I remember right they had copies of the virus from the Contagion side quest) And Act 3 would be steadily building your own outpost on Kadara with Sloane Kelly's help while Jaal fights his own internal reincarnated soul, the Roekar come in and try to null your civilization, but during this act you will play as the person who is finding new people for your outpost, finding people and doing their side missions is how you gain them in your outpost, Jaal detests the slums of Kadara More and more, silently in the background where nobody can see and in a way where there's minimal foreshadowing like it's nothing major, and tries to blow up Kadara port because he was a terrorist in the past life.. Oh and the Finale being against Sloane Kelly in your own outpost, because she suddenly goes 180 on you after a hard earned alliance... and brings creatures from the mountain boulders alive to fight with her. With an "Archon Device" that was only referenced twice since Act 1. And Reyes takes Kelly's place on the throne Damn imagine if Andromeda was just Kadara and the surrounding hills. Where there is only one cave, dungeon and cellar each where all the quests take you over and over, Each follower would have their own house and they are all bisexual not for being pro LGBT but because of programming time constraints. Jeez. Bioware can't get worse than DAII. Even Anthem was open and looked pretty. And this games Side quests are stellar.

We have not explored the hole milky-way and when i first heard of mass effect andromeda i thought they were well on in the future where the two galaxy's were very close almost at collision stage

I actually pre ordered MEA. It wasn’t as good as I hoped. It’s decent on it’s own but I feel it doesn’t really hold up to the Mass Effect title.

Actually the real problem with Andromeda wasn't even the game itself it was that the ME3 endings upset so many fans that most of them said that unless the endings of ME3 were changed they would hate any other mass effect game not caring if it was good or bad. I was however of a more practical mind and while I didn't like the endings of ME3 I was ready to embrace what ever game came next. And one thing I liked in Andromeda that they did different from the original trilogy was they made the characters have layers where the trilogy only had paragon or Renegade choices try to play in-between was unsatisfying I was so glad that Andromeda did away with the Paragon and Renegade choices and made the conversation options more like they would be in the real world I have always compared these four games to books I have read in my life the trilogy is like the straight forward fairy tale stories that no matter how many times you read it or in this case play it the story is always the same and that kind of gets boring after a while. Whereas Andromeda is like the choose your own adventure books where depending on what you choose the story will turn out different so you can kind of write the story based on your own personal preference and that is to me more my style and a bit more my speed but to each their own

A lot of the player (including me) where not really mad about the quality (who had srsly flaws, but games can be patched) but rather about not beeing Mass Effect 4. Together with the Ending of ME3 (which is again highly controverse with the LE) and therefore resulting in not having Shepard. It is an ok game, but as i finished the game, i sad to myself "for a start of a trilogy (at that time the trilogy rumor was arround) it is ok, still missing stuff still stuff you can learn from for the following games" but the next hatewaves kicked in when they sad, Andromeda flopped and there will be no more Andromeda. I would have bought the next part now matter what. I have ME1-3 but still bought the LE.

I played andromeda before playing the trilogy, and I loved it. Then I played the trilogy and tried to come back to andromeda Now I understand why everyone hates it lol

The project that created the assassin that EDI takes the body from the project was codenamed Eva and the assumed identity of the android was Dr. Core. Turians are complicated as unlike humans that often take the name of the father regardless of gender. Turians instead the surname name is dependent on their gender a female Turian will take the name of the mother while males take the surname of their father. So Garrus does not share the same last name with his sister. It can be completely possible that Vetra and Sid's father is Saren. Turian society is mainly based on the Romans. To be fair Avitus like most in the galaxy wouldn't know the entire Reaper link to Saren and his actions. Especially if what happened with Saren happened after he retired from being a SPECTRE. So, he wouldn't have full knowledge of Saren and the Reapers.

I do not know if it is known fact, but I found something interesting on n7 day teaser picture. Can someone confirm? To the left of the ghet's body (in the middle of the slope), I noticed a figure that resembles a skeleton/alien. At the bottom right is a smaller figure. And a baby is visible in the abdomen, or it's just the abdomen itself. I recommend maximal zoom on picture.

Now... what is the catalyst room. It is pseudo and it's analogies of Fire is almost hyper of pseudo molecular.. At the end of Mass Effect 3.... was the Dyson sphere where you were? How did you get there? Where a solution to evolution could be solved? We are talking about a synthetic race that built 3 mass relays into a telescope, and it really seems like the heretic geth would do this after evolving their AI programs. Please re analyze the ending. It felt like the citadel was Alive and you were Alice. That elevator that raises you was not taking you outside the station but in the center. The starched could've been made by the geth, when the heretics accepted that state of consciousness. What if it was the Dyson sphere? It need a chemical reaction, a catalyst. How would the geth be involved?

I 100% agree that this game is better than most people give it credit for. It certainly is the weakest of the series and had a high bar to reach for, but its a bit of the iron man 2 effect, where Iron man 2 isn't a terrible movie, but compare to other mcu films it's pretty bad.

Maybe we can unify we can make our own theorem about it. Have our own head Canon better than the indoctrination theory. Is that life is always two fold. There's 2 paths of evolution "The Reaper path" and "The Jardaan path" The kett fit under the Reaper path as its about genetic superiority. And the Jardaan is basically what happens to Shepard at the end of the trilogy. The first human. "The first organic ever" as the catalyst said to reach this point. I will call it the "Existiantial Nexus" of where the living organisms are made aware of the big idea of cosmic "entitlement"

I really like the name you came up with. Dyson sphere. "Dyson Sphere theory" Where at the end you are in a Dyson Sphere. You can still see reality as you can watch the Reapers but this would be the hub of AI synthetic life. Oh and the whole synthetic life thing would be the "impossible" third factor in the two life paths thing. It's synthetic and unnatural. But their logical ways can find a way to unite the destructive end point and the creative one.. and I'm talking about all life and all existence. Maybe that is why AI and the unnatural part of it has scared ALL advanced organics since the dawn of time. To the point where there is a "cosmic religion about it. A type of religion I'd see the Leviathan preaching tbh. I'd really love it if the next Mass Effect game got into Primordial (always existing) religions. I'm sorry. I love this game.

I have the unpopular opinion of extremely disliking the changeable profile system in MEA. I think it stems from what you want out of the game. To me, Mass Effect's appeal has always been that it's a story driven RPG with a deep, rich lore. And the ability to just change your class and suddenly have biotics at any time before turnign them off again goes completely against the lore in place about biotics. That immersion breaking aspect just for the sake of indecisive players wanting to try out all the classes definitely isn't for me. On top of that, I'd argue that it actually takes away alot of the Replayability that the Trilogy had. Even if the MEA story, characters and writing weren't alot worse, I dont think i'd have replayed it nearly as much as I have the trilogy purely because of the class system. Replaying the Trilogy as a new class was always a fun and unique experience that you wont get in Andromeda because you can just switch classes when you want. I know that i'm in the extreme minority here because even most people that dislike andromeda like the combat and class system in it more than the trilogy which upsets me. Because I think with that being the popular concensus, any future ME game will likely have the same system in place which I think is a great shame.

I'm in the middle of playing it again after doing the legendary. I think the open world and back peddling everytime you learn a new skill etc you ,leads it to be so repetitive and that's its downfall.

The gameplay is really good and dynamic. The characters are bland. And that's what a ME game is mostly about. You can have a simple linear and cliche story. But if your characters are solid and interesting, then the most cliche story becomes interesting. My two cents.
