The Massacre of a Russian armoured column | Military Mind | TVP World

In the area of the town of Uhledar, the Ukrainian military destroyed a column of Russian vehicles. Over 30 tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and, MT-LB amphibious armored personnel carriers were heading to the front with the 155th Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet. The Russian column was wiped out near Vuhledar in the Donetsk region.

It's probably not worth answering them, but while it may seem ugly, NATO *IS* in a proxy war against Russia, and the Ukraine is willing to fight it. It should be noted that the 155th Marine Infantry Brigade is a "Guards" unit, manned by the best troops and equipped with the best tanks and APC's Russia has in inventory. The 155th has spent a year training and preparing for combat. But, it would appear the unit was not even able to reach their first phase line and prepare contact before being forced to retreat. Not a good showing.

It looks like Russian "training" isn't very effective. I guess that's what happens when you have a corrupt dictator running the country and the corruption has filtered down into all levels of government and the military.

Their problem is tactical & doctrinal as well. The Battalion Tactical Group in the footage was essentially doing the USSR's version of the Napoleonic, "Hey diddle diddle, file down the middle!" Doesn't yield good results in a minefield covered by artillery's pre-planned targets... even though they might imagine that following in the previous tank's "footsteps" would prevent hitting a mine.

Thanks for this great coverage of the war. One really gets a sense of what is going on there and the difficulties. I would be careful not to pick cheerful music since we are watching people wounded and sometimes dying. I would leave some clips silent and not have any music or have someone talking over the visuals and explaining the war and what we are seeing. What we are seeing without giving anything strategic away of course. Again, thanks for your fine coverage.

My unit used to blast Seek and Destroy as a weapons free signal. War is not church or reverent. The goal is to astonish them with your sheer capacity for violence and to kill them. Humanizing them is something those in battle can't afford.
