@@adriansheldon7778, Greetings Adrian, and thank you for your post. I understand your perspective regarding support for Ukraine. Let me try to address this the best I can for you here. While it's true that the U S is in a somewhat polarized state regarding our two political parties, that has been the case for quite awhile. What Republicans want, the Democrats typically don't want, and vice versa. Typically this is a big staple in the domestic policy front. I believe it is frustrating for many on both sides some times. As it relates to foreign policy it seems to have changed where the Democrats seemed to halt Republican, "adventurism ", as policy years ago. Fast forward to today, it seems it's now just the opposite. Well don't let any of this fool you. As you would think, somewhere in the middle is the truth, or at least the baseline of reality. This seems to be the case today. Quite honestly the core beliefs, and strength of support for the efforts in Ukraine are strong. Both parties seem to realize that like it or not, the Russian aggression cannot be shelved, and must be addressed, and is. As you may be aware, the commitment made by the United States to the support of Ukraine has been quite large, quite steady, and extremely encompassing. I'll remind you Adrian that regarding our two party system there will always be those that scream there's a better way to move forward. Both parties will exhibit this of a variety of topics, at any time. It's honestly a part of what makes things come together. The beauty is that a loud group of screamers will be heard as those that do not scream are also heard. As for Ukrainian support, don't expect it to stop until it is not needed further. Stopping support for Ukraine and permitting the reward of a criminal regime for it's aggression is something the stronger core of the United States will never tolerate or accept. Democracy, freedom, and the rights to self determination is absolutely central to who we are as Americans. I don't see this changing. I hope I was helpful in addressing your post, and question. Ironically to do this requires maximal casualties on Russia's side short term to get them to quit and/or a change in Russia's leadership (through Russians deciding to do that). If Russia takes any Ukrainian land in a peace deal, they'll call it a win and they'll do it again in a few years. "Peacing out" would only lead to lots more casualties later on. The longer the war drags on the more casualties there will be. If any outside party tried to assassinate Putin or sponsor a coup in Russia it could be WWIII. I don't see Russians changing their government any time soon. Unfortunately, Russian grunts or "pons" have to pay the price. Sometimes the least bloody way to end a situation is to hit the other side really hard with a big stick. One side has to get a decisive advantage on the battlefield ASAP. Russia doing that would not minimize casualties. That would lead to Russia attacking again, brutal occupation, and an insurgency.

What concerns me is that even with the Russian sanctions stopping them from getting chips to put in their GPS guided bombs, Russia still has enormous supplies of conventional artillery. Although not as accurate as the artillery with the chip guided shells, they still only have to land within a 30 metres range of the Ukrainians troops to be lethal

@@carpathianken I have a feeling Ukraine will eventually be authorized to target artillery firing at them inside Russia. Unfortunately politics are like the defense walking at the speed of turtle. By the time they get approved, millions of lives are changed, tens of thousands are lost. Billions in citywide damages, and politics begins changing elsewhere too. They need to approve weapons types immediately, approve firing some limit of distance to inside Russia wherever the missiles are coming from, and wherever artillery is coming from. If Russia chooses to use it's own national land as a shield, that's Russia's fault if they sustain damage there. If they stayed inside Ukraine that is where the battlefield wouldf stay. But they don't want to keep it in Ukraine and Ukraine has a right to defend itself.
