Wow, I once passed the small island group of Rum, Eigg and Muck on the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry from Oban to Barra and thought they looked like interesting places to visit. You've just wetted my appetite even more. Thank you.

I visited the cave in the early 70 s , a small entrance which lead in to a large cave , I was told what had occurred , a sad event ,

I feel very naïve as I knew nothing about these barbaric events, thank you so much for this fascinating account. The events may have been brutal but it does also illustrate that love is such a strong emotion that it can extend over self-preservation.

@@scotlandshistory Thank you so much for posting, at school in the 50s and 60s I am being honest when I say that Scottish History was never taught. We all know about key English events like 1066 but ask a Scot to name the of our kings and they struggle. Your contributions are excellent at filling in many gaps in my knowledge.
