Thank you for doing this spotlight! You gave me a new appreciation for these ships, especially the Mediator. One little correction: the Ultraheavy Turbolaser appears on at least one another ship, the New Republic's Nebula Star Destroyer. It has a single dorsal Ultraheavy Turbolaser, which contributes to its crazy good forward-facing firepower for such a small ship.

Recusants and Recusant Dreadnaughts also have an ultraheavy turbolaser. I believe the Munificent has an ultraheavy ion cannon, and the MC-75 has two ultraheavy ion cannons if your using the MC-75 submod.

Mediators are EXTREMELY strong, I recommend building them asap in your playthrough. I rushed the last few eras and these things dominate. Also, Ackdool (one of the recruitable hero's) plus Garm Bell Iblis each get Mediators for extremely cheap

@@ninjataco1552 To progress through the eras you kill the appropriate imperial leaders. Sate Pestage, Isard, Thrawn, Palpatine, Carnor Jax and then to get to era 5 Dalla. You research mediators in ERA 5.

Auto Resolve is always broken. It never makes sense. I once auto resolved a space battle by accident against an enemy landing force of nothing but transport ships and lost half of my capital ships. But, on rare occasions, it will work in your favor. The last time I purposefully auto resolved a Space Battle was against a superior enemy fleet. My main force was en route to planet but was one second too slow. I tried to take out as much of the enemy fleet with my one capital ship as I could but the battle was over before it began. Right as my capital ship hit 1%, I hit auto resolve and the series of events that followed were absolutely amazing: my lone capital ship self destructed, which somehow caused a chain reaction throughout the entire enemy fleet, causing them to seemingly self destruct, and the “We have been defeated!” flashed on screen. But since the entire enemy fleet killed itself, and that I still controlled the ground, the game also registered it as a win because one of my space stations that was destroyed in the auto resolve were still there.

The Mediator looks to be in the wrong size category. From what I can remember from the book, it was more than half the length of the MC Viscount. And the Viscount is at 17 km that would put the Mediator in the 9km range.

Known facts about the Mediator: Battlecruiser, half the lenght of the Viscount(-Class), bigger than a Miid ro'ik(1600m), can be destroyed by Miid ro'ik with fighter support. The Viscount is 3km and the Viscount-Class is 17km. That puts the Mediator between the 1500 meters and 8500 meters. At a length of 5 - 6km it's normally classified as Super Star Destroyer/Defender. With the retcon of the Executor- and Viscount-Class the size of the Mediator can't be settled without ignoring one or two sources. And in the end the New Republic has a better use of a 3700 meter ship than 8500 meter ship.

please check the star wars mod for x4 foundations, its a rts, flying all ships in first person, industry, trade, galactic conquest, economic empire, fleet management, crew management, etc mash up. its incredible, the interior of the millenium falcon and razorcrest are very detailed. the empire and mandalorians are npc dynamic factions with others

Alternative this should be called the ONLY capitals of the new republic, as the New Class Modernization Program created the joke that is the Nebula-class Star Destroyer! It’s a ship to just skip. Somehow has less hull strength than then the Endurance-class fleet carrier despite it having hangers and launch bays carved out of the same base hull

I think you'll be able to build these guys in your playthrough. You just need to build some economic stuff, you tend to leave the grounds of most of the planets you take pretty bare. I could be wrong though.
