The problem is more about how the same triforce exists in both the child and adult timeline indeed. We know for sure it exists in the child timeline as child link has it during the ending. @@ZeldaLore I think it's a given that a Triforce has to exist to maintain the world's balance. It probably would have returned to the Sacred Realm when Link was sent back seven years (as its hinted to do when a rightful bearer passes away or leaves the world), but since the realm was sealed because of Ganondorf, it instead shattered. However the Triforce was still with Link when he returned a Child, knowing that he could use this to convince Zelda and the King to act. (It's also possibly referenced in MM as the "light that guides you".)

@@ZeldaLore At the end of Ocarina of time you can actually see the Triforce of Courage on kid Link's hand when he is with kid Zelda if you look closely. Link may have replaced the Master Sword but it is cannon that even kid Link was in the sacred realm briefly before he replaced the Master Sword so as someone who valued courage most he automaticly got that Triforce and the other 2 pieces automaticly went to the people who valued wisdom and power most. That is how Ganondorf got the Triforce of power out of nowhere.

I used to think this too, but in wind waker, the king of red lions states that when Link was sent to the past, the triforce remained in the future was split itself into 8 pieces. Link simply can't have the triforce at the end of Ocarina. The triforce mark is either magical residue of the triforce that is left on Link's hand, or a mistake by Nintendo.

So when it was separated on the future it also separated in the past and in the downfall timeline as well? @@DartzTheGamer I thought of that while writting the script, but I reached the conclusion that it doesn't transcend time, as the downfall timeline can't exist alongside the adult timelines and child timeline and these have events involving the triforce where it is split, shattered or complete. Wind waker had the triforce of courage split into 8 and the triforce of wisdom split into 2, yet in twilight princess, which takes place at the same time as wind waker in a different timeline, the triforce is split, yes, but it's pieces are not shattered, therefore it is not the same triforce piece for all timelines. There is a triforce for each timeline branch, and a triforce for parallel worlds like Lorule

@@ZeldaLore I believe that when the Timeline split, Link still retained ownership of the Triforce of Courage, but since he couldn't bring his piece of the Triforce with him, it stayed behind. But since he retained ownership of it, the Triforce recognized him as the owner of the Triforce of Courage, so that piece broke off and went to him, while the others went to their respective owners. This explains why Ganondorf had the Triforce of Power at his execution, the sages attempt to kill him awakened his piece of the Triforce.

Ganondorf gained the Triforce in Twilight Princess because OoT Link gave his piece never back when he was sent back in time. That's why in the adult timeline the Triforce of courage bursted into pieces otherwise this timeline would be missing a Triforce piece and that's impossible. It is because Link and therefore the Spirit of the Hero was deleted from the adult timeline and when he returned you can see that he wears the Triforce on his hand. And we know that it splits if someone gets one piece like when Ganondorf touched it. He traveled back wearing the Triforce of Courage so in the child timeline the Triforce splits and Zelda and Ganon unwittingly receive their respective pieces.

Excellent video. I'm always glad to see someone giving Rauru his proper due! (He's always been my favorite sage). One more piece that you missed, in TPHD there's a new statue in the Noble's Shop which shows Rauru standing over the Master Sword, likely as he sealed the Sacred Realm. Beyond that, I'm not sure I agree with the Ancient Sages being separate from the Elemental Sages. I had always felt that the Elemental Sages had no reason to be awakened in the Child Timeline because the Ancient Sages were still around (and not killed by an ascendant Ganondorf as he entered the Sacred Realm after Link), A call arose from the Sacred Realm, as Sheik put it, I feel because the original guardians of those elemental forces were dead. I have already voiced my thoughts on the "divine prank" in another comment. Overall this is a really good video and I look forward to see what else you come up with.

The reason Ganondorf has the Triforce of Power in Twilight Princess was because Link still had the Triforce of Courage when Zelda sent him back from the Adult timeline causing the child timeline Triforce to split since it's impossible to have 2 identical pieces of the same Triforce.

I always thought that the sages seen in TP were killed when Ganondorf corrupted all the temples, which is why Link had to awaken new sages. That's why in the child timeline when Ganondorf does not have access to the sacred realm, the ancient sages remain while all the people that awakened as sages in OOT would live normal lives in the child timeline. This also explains why Rauru is the only ancient sage in the sacred realm because the rest of them were destroyed and Rauru was able to hide in the temple of light.

Its actually confirmed that the goddess’s gave ganon the triforce of power. But it was merely to correct a paradox of the nature of the triforce. Only a person with a balanced heart can weild all 3 peices. If they do not, when they touch the triforce they obtain that which their heart alligns with. And the other two peices automatically go to those destined to wield them. So when link returned to hyrule with the triforce of courage the other two peices had to go to their destined owners zelda and ganon.

This makes a lot of sense, but I want to present a theory. Everybody thinks Link was sent back to the time before he pulled the master sword, but I actually think he was sent back to after he pulled the blade. When Link is sent back to the past, the bright blue light we see whenever Link pulls or puts the Master Sword back is seen, but instead, the light shrinks into the blade, signifying that Link has just put the Master Sword back. In a sense, he is being woken up early, after Ganondorf has already entered the sacred realm. When Link places the Master Sword back in it's pedestal, he is essentially trapping Ganondorf in the sacred realm, preventing him from conquering Hyrule like he did in the adult timeline. Link returns to Zelda, who has returned to the castle to wait for Link to return with the Triforce, only to find the mark of the triforce of courage shining on his hand, signifying that Ganondorf has obtained the Triforce. Ganondorf would remain trapped in the Sacred Realm for several years, until the sages decided to free him in order to execute him. This would, of course, end in failure however, as Ganondorf's retrieval of the Triforce of Power would render him almost invincible.

The Six Sages from Twilight Princess are most likely the spirit forms of the Six Sages seen in numorous games. Rauru probably was awakened to his destiny between the end of Skyward Sword and the beginning of Ocarina of Time, but died between Ocarina of Time and shortly before Ganondorf's attempted execution. Otherwise, we'd see Rauru instead of the Sage of Light's spirit form. But I do think that the spirit forms of the sages in Twilight Princess are the same ones that existed during the time of Goddess Hylia, and was tasked with forging the Goddess Sword (which was later forged into the Master Sword by Link and Fi.)

This theory revolves around one very important key argument, which is that the sages of Twilight Princess existed around the time the Goddess Hylia did. I can't for the life of me find anywhere in the video where you _actually_ manage to prove this or even make it sound _likely_ that they were there. If anything, your examples of different sages during different times just reinforces that there's no reason any set of sages would exist across eras.

It's simple. There were sages during the time of Goddess Hylia, as the emblems of the sages are seen on the roof of the Temple of Hylia. They wouldn't be there otherwise. The Master Sword was said in Twilight Princess to have been forged by the Ancient Sages, and the only way for this to happen is if the sages forged the Goddess Sword for Hylia, which later becomes the Master Sword thanks to Link. The Ancient Sages of Twilight Princess are the protectors of the Mirror of Twilight, who came to protect the mirror after the interloper war in the Era of chaos, several years after the events of Skyward Sword. One of these sages was Rauru himself, as he built the temple of time immediately after the Interloper war to seal the Sacred Realm. The whole theory explains how after Hylia passed away, these ancient sages took over Hylia's divine job of protecting the land and the triforce. You could argue that the Ancient Sages of Twilight Princess, those present during the era of chaos, are descendants of the ones of the time of Goddess Hylia, which I didn't think of while reading the theory, but considering Rauru lived for thousands of years up until the events of Ocarina of Time, they are likely Hylia's Sages themselves

@@ZeldaLore Right, but the quote in qustion from Hyrule Historia stated that the *Triforce* doesn't distinguish good and evil; it never said anything about the morals of the Goddesses. And, while it does possess the essence of the Golden Goddesses, it was created for the use of anyone but the gods. In fact, Skyward Sword makes it clear that the Goddesses made the Triforce the way that it is in order to give hope to the poeple of Hyrule. If they were to design the Triforce in such a way that prohibited wishes that they deemed wrong, it would defeat the purpose. Personally, that's why I think the Triforce doesn't distinguish good and evil.

There are not five separate sages that protect the mirror. The sages we see in Twilight Princess are the sages that Ganondorf killed when he entered the sacred realm in OOT. Twilight Princess takes place in the timeline in which this was prevented; therefore, the original sages never needed to be replaced by Saria, Ruto, Darunia, etc.

A major time split happened in skyward sword. The triforce was used to permanently banish/destroy demise when the goddess temple landed on him. However by zelda being kidnapped by Ghirahim and being used to awaken the past demise (before being trounced by Link) two timelines were created: one where demise is permanently destroyed and thus never gets to curse Link and Zelda/Hylia (does not make sense that Impa retains the wristband Zelda gives her as the timeline have changed) and one where the complete master sword seals his power (for now)

There certainly is not a timeline split. Both the master sword that was placed on the pedestal after defeating Demise, as well as the Triforce and the isle of the goddess which descended to destroy the Imprisoned coexist. It's a single timeline.

That should not happen either as there would probably be some type of resonance.) Putting aside the effect past-impa jumping forward in time caused (another time-split that is not discussed here); by Ghirahim jumping to the past, he automatically causes a timesplit not a time over-right. For example: If we assume that that he can survive without Demise's presence (like Fi to Hylia, technically) that would mean that somewhere outthere in past Hyrule, wracking his brain to free Demise was the original Ghirahim (two Ghirahims!) Even after Demise was sealed in the Master Sword. Also the Master Sword is sealed in the temple of time in the past, while the goddess sword was in the statue of the goddess in the present. Will link dual wield both now? Timey wimey stuff is never straight forward. Now if you said that when Zelda, Link and Groose go back to the future (TM) they did not go to their original present timeline but one where the master sword being corroded by Demise's spirit has created a different present' timeline, that would make more sense.

I completely agree with the Goddess Sword being created by ancient sages in the time of Hylia. However, Rauru is most likely not the same as the original sage of light. The sages in the Arbiters Grounds can very well be those original sages, but that means they lived many years prior to Skyward Sword, while Rauru’s lifetime takes place at the same time of the interloper wars and the building of the Temple of Time, which happened many generations after Skyward Sword. Hyrule as a kingdom was then founded in the surrounding area of the Temple of Time, which Rauru and his group of sages most likely witnessed. This makes sense because your theory already establishes that there have been multiple generations of sages, but also, that there can be different groups of sages at the same time. I agree with that, it’s actually something I had thought about before, because it allows the Ocarina of Time sages to have awakened in the Child timeline as well at some point, since nobody knows exactly what happened in the years between Link warning the Royal Family and the execution of Ganondorf, other than that there was some sort of war after the failed coup.

I think that more likely the reason gannon got the triforce in twilight princess is because when link came back in time at the end of ocarina link still has the triforce if you look close at the end cutscene. So I think that when link came back with the triforce obviously he can't remove the triforce from the adult timeline but you can't take it away from a bearer that easily either so when he came back he took the child timelines triforce and caused it to split giving power to gannondorf. Also like still having the triforce also explained why the would listen to a random 9 year old but not the princess as meansioned in oot

That seems to be the case, yes. It's quite a strange thing, since the Triforce of Courage stayed in the Adult timeline, and it split into 8 when he was sent back in time. The only real reason as to why he has it is a "Divine Prank" by the gods. Not even the sages, those tasked with protecting the Triforce and the land of Hyrule, expected him to have it

I think it was actually the original Dampe and Tingle, the spirits of Death and Faeries who took on mortality in order to create a rare mineral which is referred to as master ore. This ore was then forged by a combination of mortals and gods leading to a god (Hylia) becoming mortal and the mortals (The Sages) becoming something closer to the divine. This weapon which bridges the infinite and the donut still wasn’t enough though it needed a weirder of pure heart to bathe it within the very essence of trinity of golden goddesses so the blade could gain the ability to contain evil within its inherit contradiction making it the perfect blade for sealing evil. However this too wasn’t enough, as in all the timelines the sword is strengthened further. From the prayers of sages in wind waker to the some random brothers hitting it with hammers then some far magic I guess in a Link Between Worlds and even adding more Master Ore located in an alternate reality in a Link Between Worlds. The true power of The Master Sword is that mastery can always be improved it isn’t static like the gods it grows like the mortals yet is perpetual like the divine defying even time itself in many cases. In summation The Four Sword did nothing wrong

After BOTW 3 ends the master sword will no longer exist. The pieces of the triforce will be sent into different relms link, zelda, and gonnondorfs curse will be broken. After this happens the master will not exist cause it wont have to. The master sword only exists cause it has to. After the curse and the triforces essence and powers are seperated by other relms the master sword will simply vanish. If the triforce is ever recombined and the threat of ballence between courage, wisdom, and power is put out of wack the master sword will simply reappear as a biproduct of said ballence to be out of wack. Think of the master sword as the triforces insurance policy.

Well how you put it, it is possible that gannon does brakes free because of inherited stamina of the Triforce is imbedded in him and that this is also in a magical realm that has no bearing in time, and like you pointed out before links descendants where all based on the Triforce connection, dose are just spinning down to the origin of this tale, aren't we.

Maybe the sages continued to power the master sword in the shadows, not being mentioned in the game. It is also possible that by the time of Breath of the wild, the seven monks around it in the trial of the sword continued to power it, or the sword came to not need the sages to fuel its power

Maybe Hestu and Kass are the successors those Sage positions, since they are the only ones with musical instruments and share species with the two Sages.

You are very close but there are 2 mistakes: 1) The true creator of the "Master Sword" is Link from skyward sword. 2)The sage created the Goddess Sword for Hylia. (this one explains the first one).

1) While Link tempered the Goddess Sword to create the Master Sword, he didn't forge the Goddess Sword (which is still the Master Sword, just at an early stage) 2) I literally said in the video the sages created the Goddess Sword for Hylia lol

wonderful effort... however I can’t get past some of your terms are completely wrong... you keep referring to as Ganon to the evil, even when you’re describing Demise and showing the exact photo / clip of Demise... After BOTW 3 ends the master sword will no longer exist. The pieces of the triforce will be sent into different relms link, zelda, and gonnondorfs curse will be broken. After this happens the master will not exist cause it wont have to. The master sword only exists cause it has to. After the curse and the triforces essence and powers are seperated by other relms the master sword will simply vanish. If the triforce is e er recombined and the threat of ballence between courage, wisdom, and power is put out of wack th3 master sword will simply reappear as a biproduct of said ballence to be out of wack.
