I agree with the Palestinian American legal scholar who recently published a paper that argued Nakba should be a criminal category. As an Australian I live in the aftermath of an unresolved Nakba. I assume I’m the descendant of genocidal settlers but I don’t know exactly what happened to indigenous inhabitants to allow the building of my house on what used to be a waterway, part of a river system now destroyed. History is short and brutish when everything and everyone is annihilated.
