Words fail me as the tears flow. Glenn was a very important person in the Australian music industry. The feelings run very deep for music fans everywhere. He wasn't just Glenn Wheatley, he was GLENN WHEATLEY.!!!! I'm currently playing a Best of Masters CD and track 10 is a LIVE version of FUTURE OF OUR NATION. When I was 10 yrs old I got the compilation album EXPLOSIVE HITS 1971 and FUTURE OF OUR NATION really grabbed my attention. The year before I heard TURN UP YOUR RADIO and my brother and sisters and myself would take turns jumping off the lounge when Jim Keays would unleash those famous screams. Well, somebody had to put the needle on the record, it was 1970. LOL!! Glenn will always be remembered as an icon of Australian music and the man that re-ignited the career of John Farnham. Glenn mortgaged his house to fund the manifestation of WHISPERING JACK, the biggest selling Australian album of all time. With a heavy heart, I send my condolences to Glenn's family, friends and his supporters

I have an assumption only about thumbs down. I see so many. I think there are people who put thumbs down on anything, without even listening for some strange reason. I think of them as Troll thumbers lol, Oh I pressed like. All so young in that video. They’d be pushing or in their 70s now. Watched the best doco on KZbin , Glenn Wheatley talking about his life. Absolutely amazing what’s he’s achieved in his life - I had no idea. Brilliant man.

In the mid-1980s in Perth, I was listening to a community AM radio station. From memory of what was said, Glenn Wheatley was in town and playing bass for the first time in a long time at some pub, where he admitted he was a 'bit rough' on bass in lacking practice. He said something along the lines that 'Turn Up Your Radio' was the band's response to remarks that the Masters Apprentices lacked bite, so they decided to go completely over the top in recording the track.
