When I first saw this in the cinema, I could've sworn the agent that says "You were warned, lieutenant" was Agent Thompson from Reloaded played by Matt McColm, but apparently, he is Agent White who appears in Matrix: Path of Neo. I also read once that he replaced Smith as lead Agent after his defeat at the end of the first film before the original Agents were replaced by the Upgrades. The third modal Agent is apparently Agent Brown from the original film, even though he's played by a different actor and looks nothing like him. Agent Jones is non-existent inside the modal and White replaces him.

Ellen Hollman was great in the first ten minutes as the Echo Trinity! Too bad she wasn't in the rest of the film, that would have made an interesting conversation about identity, reality and consciousness if she met the original Trinity. Neo ran the modals to see if a program would gain sentience if faced with the same situation over and over. Modal Morpheus almost went insane and was assigned as Agent Smith. A lot of possible story points left unexplored, sadly

When watching the Matrix movies, it's better to think of them as a metaphor to better understand them. This Matrix movie is a metaphor for two people who fell in love as 30 somethings hooked up for a while but broke up. She got married and had two kids. He went on to create a successful software company but remained a bachelor. He tried to medicate himself to forget but he couldn't. They randomly met in a coffee shop one day fell back in love. She remembered she liked banging dudes that looked like Keanu Reeves. She decides to leave her husband and kids. The End. It's actually a decent middle aged love story if you just forget about the whole Sci fi Matrix element.

Don't quite understand. If Bug has already seen Neo before (and also don't understand why the Neo she saw look so ill), then she and her team already know for fact that Neo is alive. The opening logo was alright but idk what’s more confusing: Lana Watchowski being aware she’s making a movie/typical remake and instead of letting someone else make it, or Bros Warner accepting this project to be filmed and distributed. If they really wanted a 4th movie to happened it could’ve so much better than this in terms of plot .

instead of rehashing a complete trilogy, it might have been better to do a sequal to Johnny Mnemonic (1995) - also starring Keanu Or if they were REALLY adventurous and competant.....could have done a trilogy exploring how mankind got into the mess in the first place (robot matrix) and who were the first ones to wake up. Also more details pertaining to the 'Neo/chosen one' prophecy.

Who would free them from the slavery of the Roman's. And neo was Jesus hence the end of the trilogy when he died there was a bright cross of fire.

I watched the movie yesterday on DVD. I had very low expectations and I liked it. It was clever, funny, the dialogues and the action scenes were great. But not for everyone though.... I think you will only like it if you don't take your perception of reality TOO seriously... :-)

For some reason this film wasn't popular. But imho this film is genius. It perfectly brought the whole story together and completed the story. And it really told a profound lesson about identity in our moder world, where everyone is trying to be someone else. Fame, power, sexuality, political ideology, whatever, it's about what it means to be human. And how we have lost our individuality, and became drones to the corporate world.

It wasn't popular because it was a bad movie. Nobody wants a woke movie that makes fun of itself. Nobody wants a movie with bad choreography, sloppy scenes and story telling, embarrassing dialogue etc. Even if it's as great as you claim, it was poorly executed and the critics and audiences have spoken---it's a bad movie.
