The old ways are almost gone and for his sons to be so ignorant is a shame. I would pay to learn his hammock making skill! Very few care about tradition. Thank you for sharing this insightful video! Much appreciated!!!

Wow! I really wish I know how to make a hammock! It's very wonderful to see how he did it. Wish younger generations these days would gain some knowledge from elders like him & get to learn to do things naturally, so that traditions like these would continue into the future for our children.

Hi Anna. The translations were done live while we filmed with Mr. Choco. His daughter translated from K'ekchi into Spanish (she could not speak English) and then her husband translated from Spanish to English. The subtitles are verbatim of the live translation we got during filming.

Greetings from Barbados. Nice Video. But coming from someone that is 100% pure Maya that speaks the same language, the translation is off. In fact I'm from the same district of Belize as Mr. Choco. Overall the video is great. Thank you.

The Modern Mayans are good people whom are being treated badly by many Mestizo's who also claim to be white! Thats a shame!

@TheyHurry 6 жыл бұрын
@@mellowvision3565 That's how it's been for many years unfortunately, Mestizos have been denying their Native roots for hundreds of years but I'm telling you this is changing now as Mestizos are becoming more educated and are now preferring their native roots and standing up against blacks and whites

@@TheyHurry In Belize the Mayans are doing very well thank you. Your opening statement speaks volumes about you as a person-- I may be wrong to broadbrush poor people whom happens to be Native.
