Essentially she never really changed her personality was the same, she was just protected by the community for a while because she was fat and black. The only big difference I see is that her anger and god awful personality is now directed towards everyone else whereas it used to be exclusively directed towards skinny people, businesses, and people she deemed ugly.

It does make me annoyed that the fat acceptance cult took over the body positivity spaces and kicked everyone else out. As someone with a physical disability and skeletal deformity, I wish I had a group of people telling me I was beautiful when I was a teen and very self conscious of my differences. And the sad thing is, all these FA have the ability to simply lose weight, while burn victims will always have their scars. So who needs body positivity more?
@elvingearmasterirma72413 ай бұрын
Not everyone can easily lose weight for many reasons. But they are also drowned out because its often tied to issues like mental health, physical disabilities or physical health issues. Like my mum. She exercised a lot, walked for miles. Ate healthy food, small portions. She only lost weight once she got cancer. We never worked out why because the doctors just kept brushing her off. Im gonna guess she had PCOS, which I inherited.
@katinkaraab19643 ай бұрын
It might not make a difference now but take my great grandmothers word for it: Your body is the thing you need to survive. It's not perfect and not pretty most of the time but as long as you aren't working as a model or a prostitute nobody cares how you Look. Make sure you use your brain to Feed yourself, and your body to run away when necessary, and If you need to look good just use Makeup." I know it is quite different to what society tells us now. But let's be real: we do not need be or feel pretty all day everyday. We can feel shitty and ugly sometimes and that is okay. You do not need to be pretty, just somewhat smart and a good Person. And If you want to feel pretty, you can pamper yourself. No need to stress to impress Others.

I’m glad my parents instilled this into me, but they always said what matters most is what you do and how you are to other people that defines your worth. That you strive to achieve whatever you wish to achieve and benefit yourself and others. To take care of your health, to always do your best to improve, and be the best you. So looks weren’t emphasized a lot. It helps and I think what makes a person beautiful is their efforts and their perseverance. Hopefully you never lose sight of your own amazingness!

@@elvingearmasterirma7241 No, that's the BIGGEST lie ever told! Cut out carbs and sweets and take in more protein and vegs. Boom, you lost weight! Well, also keep the caloric intake to 1,200 calories! Everything else is just an excuse. I know serval friends with PCOS and they maintained their weight. People lie to themselves about what they really are eating and how much. You have to keep count of every little thing you put into your body. Even a sip of coffee! It's mostly about what you eat, exercising isn't really part of weight loss, it's just to help tone your body and to make your muscles lean. Once I quit lying to myself about how it's "impossible" to lose weight, I MELTED it off! Follow Dr. Now's program, from My 600 pound Life, and you WILL lose weight! His program is what I said, low carb, high protein diet with a limit of 1200 calories a day.

Every time I ever heard about body positivity, even in the beginning, it's always been about fat people. I have NEVER heard it talked about the way you're saying it was. I just remember hearing how everyone was telling me to be ok with my fat body when I most certainly was NOT ok with it. Don't get me wrong, you all deserve that space and deserve to feel validated. But the fat acceptance does NOT need body positivity unless it's for weight LOSS! But girl, don't feel like you NEED to have that space. You should just KNOW that you're beautiful without others telling you! I have my own security issues so I know it's A LOT easier said than done and that it does feel good to have that external validation. We all have flaws that we are uncomfortable with. If it wasn't your disability, it would be something else. Just be you and a good person and you will attract that same energy! Either as a friend or romantically if you're not involved with someone currently.

These creators don’t understand how this works-companies are out to make a profit! They aren’t trying to waste their money by purposely making ugly plus-sized clothes, and it isn’t some attack on larger people. And while we’re here, the reason you don’t see giant clothes being sold everywhere is because there aren’t enough people to buy size 28 clothes so why would a business decide to waste money to stock stores with these clothes?! Special-sized clothes have always been procured through either special websites or special stores. Asking companies to waste their resources for the few people who need size 28 clothes is insane! I am saying this as a former obese person. Lost 60 lbs with intermittent fasting!

@Jazzisa3113 ай бұрын
The whole shaming companies for not having plus sized clothing is so funny to me. Like, companies are evil. Just, in general. Rule of thumb: the bigger the company, the more evil they are. Got a dress that costs 5 dollars? yeah, it was made by slaves. Companies care about ONE thing: making. money. They will be woke, or unwoke, pro-fat or against, depending on what they think will make them money. So shaming won't help bc these companies don't care. Unless you can actually get a response from their target group (i.e. in this case smaller sized ppl who they sell clothes to), and get them to speak out, nothing will happen. Promote the companies that do promote your values, or start your own. If they make money, other companies will follow. That's just capitalism.

It’s okay Michelle, I lost my black card too. Listening to rock and metal music got mine snatched. Great video as always! That Samera girl is so annoying. People like her that use being black as a shield, make it harder for people to take us seriously when actually discrimination occurs. Samera couldn't even come up with any retort to Sam, she chose to insinuate that Sam was being racist and then sent her sheep followers to bully Sam. So childish.

Whenever there was something she didn't agree with, she made sure to let us know. When I told that to my brother who is 10 years older then me (im 34, he's 44) he bursted out laughing because he knew that's BS even from the time before I was born. Absolute self delusion unfortunately

@@notyourfrind9415 Ok, so I genuinely don't want to be a part of drama, but at work it seems like it had a habit of finding me. There's a crazy lady there who just snapped at me, and I genuinely don't know why but she did the same to her other work friends as well and they all stopped talking to her because she tried to make up lies to get them fired. Anyway, she tried to cut me off in line to clock in and I stepped right in front of her to get back in line. While she was busy getting upset and angry, accusing ME of cutting, I just walked up to the clocking in station and did just that. She was FUMING! I wish I knew what I did to have ticked her off as much as she was with me. Then I would always have issues with at least one temp employee. One of them rammed something into me because I asked her if she could get her own supplies instead of using mine because I had my station well stocked with everything I needed to do my job. She was too lazy to supply her own work station with supplies and just took whatever she wanted off of my desk. The last time I got into drama was when this guy began to curse at me over something small and insignificant. He was even harassing me and calling me every single slur you can think of to say to a female. I even reported him to HR and NOTHING was done about it. I was so freaked out over his insanity that I genuinely thought he would try to either do something to me or my car when I leave work. I even had security escort me to my car because of how bad he went off on me. And it was over nothing! I don't even remember what it was about because of how insignificant it was! But since changing jobs, I have not had any drama and I'm really happy! I prefer to get along with my coworkers!

I've been thin my entire life. I was never mean or ugly to anyone. In fact, it was the total opposite. Because I was quiet and shy, also because I was attractive and received attention I never asked for or even wanted, that automatically qualified me as "stuck up" or "conceited." I was bullied for being "too skinny." I was called "Jolly Green Giant" and "Olive Oil." It hurt my feelings tremendously, and I never fully got over it. Needless to say, being "skinny" or "pretty" does not equate to mean.

I want all these large influencers who are upset about clothing to get skinny so they can realise that even clothes for smaller people don't fit right. I'm a 33 inseam, and I can barely find pants that are long enough for me in store and sometimes not even online. What's even more frustrating, is I sit between a common length of 32 and 34, 32 being too short and 34 being too long. I also sit between a 4-6, 6 being too big and 4 being too small. I mean no hate, just insight; clothing and body image is frustrating for all of us.

My older sister can never find long enough pants, and she is very thin. 5’8 and like 120 lbs or something. And my little sister is slim thicc and can wear xs on top but wears a 12 in bottoms. It’s super confusing for them and they aren’t near plus size.
@Orquet-qj2nf3 ай бұрын
I concur and offer annecdote support. I'm often a size 15. 90% of my shirts would look better if an inch off the top shoulder seam was taken in. Off the rack dresses rarely fit because my hips are proportionally larger than my entire upper body. Bras rarely fit because of my under-sized ribcage. I have the arms of a giraffe T-rex combo, so often, the arms are too short. Also, my spelling memory is failing, but that's beside the point. I blame English for being more about exceptions than the rules. Also, I have not burned down department stores in outrage. I learned how to sew.
@LotusesGalaxyOcean3 ай бұрын
Agreed. As an hourglass shaped woman pants or jeans are the devil to find. And blouses are not designed for me either typically with the waist wider and thus not fitting. It is a pain if I am trying to find clothing that is not for yoga and thus not stretchy. Never mind trying to avoid synthetic fabrics. I am currently planning out sewing projects.

@karahelps3 ай бұрын
@aminamm3103 yes unfortunately they only sell "long" online (at least at my local AE) and their waist sizes are unpredictable so I have to go in store to try, and then order the pants online and wait for them to be delivered. Their long I believe is also a 34 so they sometimes drag a little bit but their regular hits the ankle which isn't the look I'm going for when buying baggy jeans. Thankfully, their prices are decent.

In college, one thing I distinctly remember as a long distance track runner was that the meanest, nastiest comments about my weight were by fat women. I mean yeah, I was (and am) a bit skinny but it was almost exclusively fat women who'd say things like my body looked gross or that I was obvioisly ana or that I was sacrificing my health for a sport. It was ironic they'd say these things while scarfing down venti frappuccinos. When I'd be seen with my girlfriend they'd double up on the comments. Eventually one of these women got officially reprimanded but not for saying inappropriate things to me, but to another woman who actually complained to a culture dean on campus. The offender eventually changed campuses but I assume she's being an obese thin person hater over there too.
