As the civil war in Syria entered its fourteenth year, the “tragic reality” is that developments are going in the wrong direction across all fronts, the Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the country just last month warned the Security Council. Tourist videos of Syria like this one are disgusting. The country is still in an a civil war. Over 500,000 people have died and over half of the Syrian population have been forcibly displaced. As of today 16.7 million Syrians are in need humanitarian aid. Tourist videos in Syria are sick! The fact that you are also selling clothing here is even worse. Syrians are starving in their hundreds of thousands and you are making money on youtube whilst they suffer! WRONG! The US is the leading individual donor of humanitarian assistance for Syria, providing more than $17 billion-including more than $9 billion from USAID-throughout Syria and the region since 2011 The EU, along with its 27 Member States, is the largest donor to the Syria crisis. Over the past 13 years, the EU and its Member States has mobilised more than €33 billion in humanitarian, development, economic and stabilisation assistance. Oil and Gas rich Muslim countries are NOT leading the way in providing aid for Syria. Qatar, Saudi, UAE etc, shame on these Muslem countries, are all absent in providing the needed aid to Syria. Syria today under its' evil Dictator, is "surviving mainly on aid from the US and EU and you are trying to make money on youtube whilst they suffer! WRONG!

I was in Germany in 2016. The man had to pay 4 thousand dollars to get out of Syria.....All of the police men were killed and literally hunted down because they had the skill and "tools" to fight back. His 2 friends were killed and those that got out were heartbroken to leave their families behind. He tried to say that his extended family would help his wife and children. This situation of paying to get smuggled out of the country is for real. Sorry but I also had Syria neighbors in a big city situation in USA. They were loud and not pleasant. Each situation must be judged individually. If you come to another country you should be willing to become part of the country. My grandfather and all greatgrandparents came from the Old World and that is what they called it. My Father was told by his parents to "Speak English!" and my polish relatives taught their parents to speak and write English. They were hard working people. Crazy enough that working a farm was a vacation for them during different growing seasons. Mostly the woman went with a few young men to do the heavy lifting. I still save seeds from my veggies to this day because of having very smart great and grandparents. Of course we attended church and shared what we had. Extra fruit and we would get a pickle from the neighbor when we did lawnWork@@marie-joelleraussou

I am from the Philippines and living here in Saudi Arabia. Thank you for showing Syria on your amazing vlog. This made me understand the current situation in Syria. And I think still one of the mos beautiful country in the middle east.

Wow Mac! Your documentary blew me away. Such an amazing wonderful place and it is the regular people that are making the difference. Thank you for being a good American ambassador and representing. Like many others I assume to only know the horrible things we see in the media. I think your guide was also super helpful in getting you around to see and experience so many of the wonderful sites. I am hungry for some Syrian chicken shawarma. Wishing peace and love to all.

The video is all WRONG, Syrians are suffering and the civil war is ongoing. As the civil war in Syria entered its fourteenth year, the “tragic reality” is that developments are going in the wrong direction across all fronts, the Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the country just last month warned the Security Council. Syria today under its' evil Dictator, is "surviving mainly on aid from the US and EU. This video aimed at making money whilst SYRIANS suffer is WRONG!

I (German, female) traveled through Syria on an individual trip in the 1980s. I was everywhere, and the most impressive was Aleppo. Syria was (and is?) the most wonderful and beautiful country in the Middle East with the most hospitable people imaginable. For example, I was invited to a wedding just because I was checking into the same hotel. My heart bleeds when I see images of insane destruction on television.

Thank you so much for sharing. Everyone you met in this video radiated so much love and kindness. One wonders about those who promote and exude instability and destruction, where do they dwell amongst those peace-loving people. I got to see what you experienced and especially seeing that coastal side of Syria that is just so peaceful and beautiful.

I have visited Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and Barhrain but when we were travelling on the highway between Beirut and Damascus in November 2005 it snowed heavily and we couldn't get through. I so miss the Middle East. My husband's father came from the Bakk valley in Lebanon whilst my husband was born in Kuwait but was brought up in Ramallah, Palestine. My son would tell me about his visits to Syria whilst he was a student at Durham (England) studying Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies. As a widowed pensioner I envy those who are able to grow their intellect by being in places that the media misrepresent. If I could help to get anything off the ground in Syria please contact me.

It breaks my heart to see how beautiful their country is, and how they were forced to leave it all behind, to become refugees in foreign lands and receive so much hate, discrimination , and blame. After all the horrors of war they still smile, and they seem very friendly and kind. May Allah protect them and bless them with peace and prosperity .
