As an old meepcity player, its a shame party bans were chosen over moderation, lots of people including me put effort into making themed roleplay parties ( Undertale, SCP, FNAF, etc ) and something annoying is since there was no way to report people or perm ban them, people would go to parties wearing inappropriate clothing and the only thing you could do is kick them over and over till they get bored. I love your videos on exposing this stuff but I wish you would atleast go into the innocent people hosting parties for fun who got caught up in the crossfire and had their building efforts and time wasted just for it to all disappear in less than 24 hours since I enjoyed making SCP Facility parties and invested alot time into it especially during 2020 and Im honestly still sad that in the end parties being removed was the only option they had in the end.

Honestly, this entire situation was sad. I remember trying Meepcity before the adult parties thing and being amazed by the adorable Meeps. I didn't play it much, but I liked the potential it would've used. Damn Alex and those jerks for ruining the lives of many young people. May the young children who bear witness to the horrors (including the one mentioned in the video) finally heal. Oh yeah, and Alex and the inappropriate players definitely have to go to jail for this.

I'm happy that NSFW parties can't happen anymore. But I'm sad about the roleplay parties with fandoms. Those parties were the only reasons I played, to meet new people, and have fun. I hate that those NSFW jerks were the reason Alex took it away from us. It's now difficult to find people in game with my interests, so there's really no more point in playing for me. This is enough to make me upset, and remember the fun times I had with those parties.

the issue with roblox online dating is when you ban one game, two take its place. it's nearly impossible to completely rid it from the website. Sure, Roblox could get better moderation, which would help, but there still would be those cursed slender hangout places. The only real way I could see Roblox effectively removing online daters would be to use a bot to moderate to such extreme levels where innocent players that may have said something even slightly against Roblox's TOS would get banned for extended periods of time. This would effectively destroy online dater hangouts. However, I would rather there be no moderation than this extreme level of moderation. Oh, and then there is the option Roblox will actually choose. Do absolutely nothing, of course.

As someone who used to play Meepcity back in the day on both accounts, I never really found anything inappropriate in the parties (or at least I don't remember any). The things I mostly recall doing on the game was working in the restaurants and tending to my house, I still remember very well the home interior I had when I played on my first account. One of the rooms specifically was what I can describe a "fun room" where there were sofas, TVs you could watch stuff on, and various other stuff such as a ballpit. Meepcity racing was fun especially, it was one of the closest you could to get to Mario kart on roblox back then. The other minigame where your meep is in a ball and you have to roll in various levels (forgot the name) I found a bit annoying at times, as some were difficult. But, like I was saying earlier, I never remember finding anything wrong with the parties, I just danced and occasionally checked out the other things they had. I quit around 2020 or so because of a bug where I was trying to fish and it wasn't giving me any Meep coins. I also didn't have the Plus gamepass and it was too expensive to buy it again so that's also why I stopped. Now, looking back at all the bad stuff that happened to the game and it's owner in the times I played it, I feel guilty. Before I finish saying what I have to say, I remember playing a couple of Alex's other games, like Roblox Dodgeball, on my current account. Never played Roblox Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy though, that was one of the only ones I played. Conclusion/Moral: *Sometimes innocent things turn out to be bad things*

I've seen your few past videos on MeepCity and this was a nice way to tie everything up and end the saga. I personally never played MeepCity, the only time I played it was when I first created my Roblox account in 2017 and saw the game on the front page. Roleplay games like MeepCity aren't my type of game so I never touched it again, and I'm really grateful for that. As an old, and current MeepCity player, It's true that banning parties help a lot. Though, I wish that they simply just had moderators to ban the parties that were bad, rather than banning all parties. I remember how hard I worked on my FNaF multi-game party RP, and seeing how others using the party feature for how it was meant to be used. Now, in current time, I simply just make avatars, and go to the school building (Many players hang out there), and simply just walk around, and engage in a few arguements. Now, I don't even use any of my old fandom party houses (FNaF, sometimes anime, and SCP themed), and I just join in RP's that my close friends host.

A person on youtube called LuaScape created a simple report system using discord. Sure, it's free, but it works. And then I realised. It took Alexnewtron and Roblox about 6 YEARS to do something about parties, when they could have made a report system in JUST 3 MINUTES. All it would have taken was 3 minutes.

I used to play MeepCity so often, it was probably my favourite game. I didn't even roleplay either - thankfully so after seeing this - I spent my time customizing my house and character, and playing the minigames that the game had. It pains me to see something that brought me, and similarly so many others, a lot of fun have such a twisted BTS that many were oblivious to because Roblox and MeepCity were child orientated and we had all assumed that there was proper moderation in place to stop what this video undeniably proves. At the end of it all, I'm glad I managed to skate by what would've made me turn out WAY worse now. I hope the children affected can seek proper amendment from any serious neurological damage they've received. Let's hope Adopt Me doesn't follow down this same path...

Meepcity was my childhood. I would play it every single day of my early childhood (2016-2017) and would actually have fun on the game. I was also there when Modern Meep city came along, thats when it started to get creepy. I have seen a lot of online daters there, everywhere in fact. In the spawn/playground area, parties, even random houses, it was a dark boom for the game. I was a online victim of a lot of these online daters and my naive self didn't know what I had gotten myself into until years after. Still to this day, I feel a distrubance in me for not knowing what I got myself into at the time and its effects on me now. Now I barely play Roblox as a whole because of school but I will forever remember the creepy online dating situations I got myself in and tramutized by without knowing it had. 🙂

It's sad that, when you think about it, removing parties was the only way to stop this. Far beyond repairable, you just had to remove it as a whole. While it brought down this shit by 99%, it also brought down about 70% of the content.

The sad part is, it could've been prevented without punishing everyone else who enjoyed regular parties. Yes there were other types of parties that didn't include sexual activities, like the Nazi roleplays, but there were genuinely good army roleplays that I thought were cool. On tope of this, there was an ongoing type of party that had been around since the existence of Meep City, five nights at Freddy's roleplays. These players were harmless and just enjoyed a game and wanted to build a remake of it in their favorite Roblox game. Alex Newtron only had to get rid of most of the fashion show furniture pack, especially the truss. He also should've removed the round couch and pillar rather than going through the trouble of deleting parties which most likely took way longer than removing 3-5 furniture items. (Seriously though, why would anyone need a basic white marble pillar for any other safe for work reason?)

Meepcity was one of my favorite Roblox games just because of fandom parties, I meet so many people that I shared interest with and that impacted my life in a positive way, it was so fun hosting parties, chatting and roleplaying, and the moment that I realized that parties were removed I have never logged in more than half an hour, seeing this video def gives me context to why it happened however it’s still sad to see that fandom parties won’t come back and that there is no replacement for them,, sigh,,,,

Wow, what a shock. Someone that actively participated on fucked up shit on the internet didn't help remove it from his own game. The ODers and their kind may have helped ruin it, but the game was doomed in the hands of someone like that. I really hope that one player got his sister the mental help that she REALLY needs. PLEASE do not be afraid of asking your parents for help and explaining to them what happened. Please seek help and help those who you know may also fall down the wrong path!

All throughout 2018 - 2021, I was a huge fan of Meep City, always joining usually on the weekends and playing with my friends, We usually went to parties for the actual roleplays and seeing the countless NSFW parties disgusted me, I don't remember how many NSFW parties I've joined just to report the owner of said parties and then leave. It's unfortunate that all the actual good non-NSFW parties had to suffer from the removal of parties, but I'm glad it was done.

This is just absurd. Roblox needs to get some better censorship and crack down on game developers' social media. They shouldn't have to take a whole year to take down a game around inappropriate topics. They should've done it sooner. I know, the game is fun and all, but what the game is hiding behind it's playful cartoon playground... is sinister.

When I was younger, I used to play Meepcity a lot, that was literally the game I liked the most and it made me addicted to Roblox. I was able to make friends online and it was a whole new experience for me. I started playing Meepcity when things still weren't like this, people would just pretty much roleplay and have pets and kids. Then, as we all know parties started to become popular and also inappropriate and unfortunately I was affected by this. I don't play Meepcity anymore and I haven't touched that game in ages, but I remember going to parties and saving really inappropriate avatars and I also online dated other kids. Now, because of the popularity of the game, I knew that there were many kids there that were younger than me and their attitudes just made me sad, the were rude and wore really REALLY explicit avatars,. Also, back then, you were able to play music in your party, and sometimes the song choices said some really dirty stuff, that definitely wasn't meant for kids to listen to. I really don't know why the owner of the game didn't act sooner, I'm pretty sure he knew everything that was going on, and at that time Meepcity was already getting hated, because of this issue. I saw many things I did not want to see and many things I did not want to read/hear in those parties. I'm sure that if I join Meepcity right now and see the avatars I have saved I'm going to get that 2nd hand embarrassment and to be honest, I'm just going to feel sad. The fact that I liked those types of things because they were popular back then just shows how kids get influenced by anything, mainly inappropriate things. Banning parties was probably the best decision ever made on the game, to put an end to these awful things, and I just wish those bans had been made sooner.

It's so sad there was so many NSFW parties in Meepcity that they had to remove them. It was really fun hanging out in the party that had great creative themes based of video games and would play songs based off the games, and people would roleplay, and dress up as the characters. I think it could've ended differently if there was a feature to report parties and ban the users making them. But it's not like the people making the game would ever think that this would ever happen, and get THIS bad. It really upsets me that because of of an amount of people others fun got ruined. But its obvious it was the only way. I just wish there could've been a way to protect kids and still not leave some sad about their favorite feature removed. Again the amounts of ODing and NSFW were way too high and easy to find in the game, and because of the lack of action taken towards it. It was probably the best decision since the developer didn't do anything themselves. To the disgusting people who were part of the massive amount of inappropriate content, I hope you're happy. Was it worth it? The traumatized children stumbling upon your party? The fall of the entire game itself?? And for future creators, please, even if you don't care it's better to do something about the huge problems in your game then nothing at all, because it might lead to it's downfall.

I completely agree. Although it is VERY true that this deserved to happen to MeepCity, I am still VERY disappointed. I used to play MeepCity all the time. I loved being creative and make cool designs, but not only that, I liked to show my creations off and share them with others. I never used MeepCity as a way to be inappropriate in any manor, all I wanted to do was create, inspire, and be inspired. I met some really cool, creative, and intelligent people in MeepCity, and it is SUCH a shame that the creator Alexnewtron did absolutely NOTHING about people abusing their powers to make inappropriate content. The feeling I got from people being inspired by me and my creativeness is such a good and empowering feeling, and I truly miss it. Even though they had to go, I wish Alexnewtron had done something to prevent it from getting as bad as it did. I loved creating things out of other things, for example making a house out of counters and tables, or a tree out of TVs and chairs. MeepCity really took me back to my childhood game, Little Big Planet, where you built super creative levels and played them with friends. I wish parties were moderated and my creativeness could keep running free with the abilities of showing them off to people, but nothing lasts forever, especially when you do nothing about it. one part you should have added abt the removal of parties, is not only does it stop the online daters from joining parties and shows how alexnewtron failed to moderate this, but also how saddening it is for kids and players who actually went to parties to socialize and have fun. This is definitely a reason why meepcity's analytics went down because those players are upset with the removal of parties and dont play meepcity anymore.

I remember when parties were around. I was a kid back then but luckily I wasn't interested in any so that's not how my childhood was ruined. I can't remember the parties well but something actually WORRYING that I've noticed is that once when my game isn't loading (when I sent a message in chat it would take time to show up, people didn't move, etc) I see the number 10 floating next to the Plaza outlined in red. I can't remember if parties had numbers, but this really concerns me.

To be honest I've never been around the time meepcity would allow players to host parties and make them, I'm glad that they got rid of them bc me and my sisters would play Roblox Alot (and I'm grateful we never have to experience that horrible time bc we could have been attracted to playing that game non stop) even when they took the parties away that didn't stop ppl form e-dating and making inappropriate avatars. I remember when I was probably 8 or really young, some guy on meep city who said he was 13 started saying some very bad things and sexualised my outfit which was a dog outfit as the time I loved dogs. He forced me to download Snapchat and said if I didn’t he would hack me, remember I was 8 and I believed him. He forced me to send some horrible photos of me, and turns out he was in his 40s to 50s. To this day I will never ever feel safe online. I never told my parents, and I’m not planning too since I will get the blame. Im currently 13 almost 14 and I’m finally realised that he was sick in so many ways.

I remember in 2019-2020, I used to play kpop songs on my newly brought radio and then got plus, and made a party that got around 5 people. The other ones got people doing roleplays. in 2021, on my older acc because one mentioned above got hacked in august 2020, I revisited meepcity and… just trolled in the ‘parties’ the game had. It was terrible. The role play parties became so empty and those ‘parties’ had so much people.

I remember playing meepcity and I actually got along with people. People actually roleplayed normally and were chill people- like me. Now in 2023, when I visit this game, it’s unrecognizable. Especially the parties. Now it’s just NSFW people and dating, absolutely vile activity, and especially when I go into the school- I can’t get along with anyone there because they act all “rich” and ignorant, and they are older than me now, no more kids my age that actually roleplay, now it’s just older kids and the game is just so not fun when I can’t interact with people. Honestly, I miss parties. There were many good ones where I have made very positive memories. Honestly, it should have been moderated, not just flat out deleted. I understand how some may slip through. This also put a bad name on ROBLOX, like I've seen news reporters talk about it and It's a shame because if it had just been moderated it would have shown that ROBLOX and alexnewtron actually cared and would have gotten positive review but that's just my opinion :/
