In this video we get to take a look at the Mega Man X3 TAS Speedrun which is one of the only Mega Man X games I actually seriously got into speedrunning with. This is full of clean gameplay, boss exploits, and even a couple of fun glitches that I hope you all enjoy watching :)

Bit and Byte have a Buddhist theme going on. Bit is called Vajurila FF in the Japanese version, and Byte is Mandarela BB, so Godkarmachine O Inary is a continuation of that.

Bit and Byte both have 2 weaknesses. Bit is weak to Frost Shield and Triad Thunder, and Byte is weak to Tornado Fang and Ray Splasher. That's why you saw him use both Ray Splash and Tornado Fang on Byte.

Check out the Zero Project hack, it's a complete rebalance that makes Zero fully playable everywhere, allows the Z Saber to cut ropes normally only breakable with Charged Volt Catfish's weapon, changes X's arm parts from a wide shot to the combo-damage-heavy Crossover Shot, allows you to collect all four chips on their own as an alternate method of getting golden armor, removes the body part's shield (for some reason), makes the Change Units summon ride armor without needing the main mech, gives Zero a double jump and air dash, makes heart tanks increase Zero's health as well and allows him to grab them, lets zero get armor parts for X like in X5-X6, and has an alternate intro where you play as Zero first and rescue him as X.

16:15 when a Tornado Fang hits an enemy there's a brief time, 7 frames IIRC, where collision is not checked. 19:15 Blast Hornet *is* weak to Gravity Well, but the damage animation from using it on him is VERY slow, so the Spinning Blades are faster to fight him with. 26:15 no, Wolverine is also a Marvel character.

After a second Maverick defeat, Bit will show up anytime between Maverick’s 3-5 and Byte will show up anytime between Maverick’s 6-8. MysteriousMaverick (???)/Vile Mk2 is the capsules. As for the alternate boss of Doppler Stage 1, both Bit and Byte need to be defeated, if you defeat neither or one but not the other, you still fight Godkarmachine O Inary at the end of that stage instead of Press Disposer

I agree with you: X3 is my favorite as well (alongside X4). Adding in optional features like chip capsules, ride armor stations, boss fights that can change something later on using certain weapons to defeat them, and Zero's Saber just adds to the fun factor and replayability. Just like X2 added a little more on top of what X1 had, so X3 adds on top of X2. A great finale to the 16-bit X games.

If you kill Bit or Byte but not both then you get Godkarmachine. As for not using the weakness to beat them in the stage, explosions take time. So no explosions is faster.

I don't wanna be that guy but... Wolverine is not from DC he's from Marvel the same as Captain America, and fun fact they actually fought together in the World War II before Cap was frozen in ice. Also it was cool to learn that Zero's charged sabre can be acquired even without the buster upgrade, and from what it looks like its actually better, since you don't have to go through the two other charged shots, but I do recall that the fully upgraded one did have an extra damage effect, similar to how the Ultimate armor plasma shot stuck around too.

On the subject of the Nightmare Police spawning in the Maverick stages: Bit only shows up after you've beaten 2 stages, and Byte shows up after you've beaten 5, and you're guaranteed to run into Bit before you beat 5 stages so it all works out. That's why TAS couldn't have run into Bit during Toxic Seahorse's stage

Hornet is weak to Gravity but it’s way too slow for a speedrun. also the boss if you kill bit and byte is a junk machine with a long nose that’s weak to drill

If you beat vile early it is like if you beat bit and byte and they get replaced in the fortress with a new boss except when you beat vile early it’s replaced with a boss where if you beat it as zero, it explodes on zero and zero goes down and gives you his z-saber, which is the x3 equivalent of the hadouken and shoryuken from x1 and x2 except you don’t need to be at full hp to use the z saber

Interesting thing about defeating the Nightmare Police is you can defeat one of them with their weakness and the other without and their combined form will still be a boss later. Also, defeating ??? with their weakness does give you a new boss later.

I'm playing Mega Man X3 for the first time and am currently on the fortress stages, and although it is definitely a good game (it's a Mega Man game after all) I feel like it is just way to confusing to navigate what I need to do with all of the upgrades, the Nightmare Police and armors. I feel like it's just too much, and it suffers from sequels need more content problem. I just don't think it's as good as X1 or X2.
