Wow, you have made another awesome settlement, my friend! Coming in on the Vertibird was quite fun, I liked that a lot! My first build at Graygarden was such a mishmosh, this whole build really helps me to reposition the settlement in my mind. It helps me to see it in a simpler way and not so huge, which can sometimes be overwhelming. I love what you did on the overpass, I detest building things up high, but the way you executed that part on top looks very user friendly, I might try it. Everything is just so cute, cozy and simple it's really inspires me to rebuild the place all over again! The staircase is so grand, don't think even I would have had the patience to make that! lol I love how you just built that little receiving area there to cover that concrete block up and it's just brilliant! Great job, all around. You have smoothed over the annoyances I had with this place, thanks for sharing!
@SarDeliac8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! This was the most challenging one so far, because, well, I didn't care about it. Was hard to get a feel for it. As settlement in this project it's pretty useless--Oberland and Sunshine are both very close and much better situated, so it's like... why bother with GG? What reason would I have to do more than throw down a couple beds and just walk away, since it's already self-sufficient? And _you_ wouldn't have the patience? lol ;) That staircase only took... hm. I did it in very short stages since it was so frustrating I had to walk away from it a lot, but total actual-building time was less than two hours. The only fiddly parts were the top platform and those under-platform support ladders; everything else just kinda went right on up.
@denster778 жыл бұрын
Yah, exactly how I feel about the settlement too, it's like even if you wanna build there, what would ya build? lol Glad you related to what I was saying. Well you have the patience for building a way up high and my patience is geared towards the junk decorations :) lol

This is absolutely amazing. I was absolutely amazed with the spiral stairs you made. Damn. Like how you built a house with a post apocalyptic view in Gray Garden.

Thank you! The stairs just kinda happened, tbh; I didn't like the squared-off crap I'd initially built and it was one of those "hmm, I wonder if..." moments. :)

@SarDeliac2 жыл бұрын
As long as they have enough ground and wing clearance, yes. Getting that pad set up to work correctly took me hours of fiddling with the mat, the pieces, and the location... but when you figure out where it can go, it'll work every time.

could you tell me where you have your computer equipment ?would really like to use some of them. Especially the center one.
@SarDeliac4 жыл бұрын
In the bus? The two side pieces come from the Vault 81 DLC, and the center one is from the Molecular Relay quest. When you do the main quest and get to the point where you build the relay, you get the ability to build four pieces: the base, the tripod, the big antenna dish, and that aqua console. You can build as many of them anywhere you want at that point, but once you go into the Institute, you can't build them any more--so what I did is get to that point in the quest, build consoles and antennas at every settlement, then went into the Institute. (You can get those pieces with mods easily enough on every platform, though.)

Sweet! Love the stairs going to overpass. I had no idea you could build up there. Can you assign robots to guard post, or did you just tell them to stay there?
@SarDeliac8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I assigned Ada and Jezebel like any other settler. As I understand it, to make a robot assignable you build it, make it a companion, and release it--something about companionizing it makes it assignable to stuff. Not sure if they can be vendors, but they can definitely work guard posts.
@debbiebaker10854 жыл бұрын
Sir, you really need to due a video on how the hell you made the strairway om the side of the overpass. This has blown my mind, and for the life of me I can't figure it. And it is the neatest thing I've seen. And would really like to make it for my gray garden overpass.
@SarDeliac4 жыл бұрын
The major technique I used was floating concrete foundations off the side of the overpass and using group select with conduits to put each step into place; made a video of it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKLTdqKKpZabbKs (It took a while to get everything set right haha)

Wow, started another great build off in style. Enjoyed the Vertibird landing and for me, the much anticipated " please buckle your seat belts and push your trey tables in an upright position". Great touch to another well thought out and functional settlement. Nice work on the stairs coming down from the overpass. Are you thinking about using the wires as supports more often? Keep the videos coming. I always look forward to watching your builds.
@SarDeliac8 жыл бұрын
Thank you! That helipad is my favorite part because it actually _works_, but it took a lonnng time to get the configuration right--it's like fiddle with it a bit, run north past Jalbert, throw a grenade, fly in, did that work, nope, fiddle a bit more, run north, throw a grenade... then repeat that seventeen times. ;) Will definitely be using wires as supports if/when I ever need another detached or "flying" structure, but I tend to build low and wide instead of high unless I have to. I could see more of that type of thing at like Finch and Kingsport, or Murkwater, or maybe Egret Tours... hmm...
@loco4pack8 жыл бұрын
Very impressive. I hope you have another settlement you are working on. You inspire me quite a bit, especially with my Survival play through. I was thinking about starting a new series with it, show how the settlement grows and expands as I progress through the game and levels. I am currently only level 33, so I have a long way to go in that play through. Most settlements are utilitarian at most, with stashed resources and beds. It might be time to have 1 or 2 start their growth.
@SarDeliac8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! There's definitely more coming. What's currently in progress, in no particular order: Oberland (90% complete), Taffington (99%), County Crossing (80%), Hangman's (~20%), and The Slog (~20%). I've got basic setups in a dozen others--turrets, covered beds, water, provisioner--and the rest are empty, prepped with a single provisioner. And that's an excellent concept. Wish I'd thought of it; it sounds cool as hell. Let me know when you start it up so I can check it out. :)

I love your themed minimalist builds and look forward to watching the rest. So many great ideas! Where are the narrow wooden walkways that you use next to the wire mesh floors for the turrets on the north side of the mutfruit greenhouse? I could find a lot of uses for them.
@SarDeliac6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The turrets are sitting on Warehouse roof pieces--down near the end of the tab there are a bunch of platforms with little stubs on the bottom that are designed to sit on the angled roofs. The piece is full-sized, though (it's square); the walkway part is the back half and the mesh is the front.

awesome build! love the theme and how everything works with that settlement. I always felt the same about this settlement, it being all robots and already being self sufficient, i just never felt inspired to build here. But u just gave me some great ideas. One question though...how did you get that big satellite dish thingy?
@SarDeliac7 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The dish is part of the molecular relay you use to get into the Institute, but once you go in you can't build 'em any more. I started this guy just to get to that part of the quest then stop so I could use them. USO added 'em a couple patches back, though, so if you run that mod you can build 'em any time you want. :)

Great build, one question though. Where in the menu's is that green guard station? I've checked guard posts several times and cannot find them for the life of me. Is there a certain mission you need to do, or DLC you need to obtain them?
@SarDeliac8 жыл бұрын
Those are from the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC; they unlock once you've completed the main quest. They appear in the same submenu as the other guard posts.
@kromio123457 жыл бұрын
I think they come with the Vault-tec Workshop DLC

very nice build. which mod allows to create that radar on the overpass?
@SarDeliac8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The dish is vanilla; it's one of the four pieces you build the molecular relay out of the first time you go into the Institute. I haven't seen a mod that has it, at least yet; hopefully if someone has, they can point you in the right direction.
