Here's hoping Cyberpunk Orion will have lots more interiors and finished stuff. Hopefully investors let the Dev team actually dev lol

@@chiragsharma901 cyberpunk Orion will take place in night city that’s been confirmed. Will be the same map just 3 times more dense and detailed since it will be made on next gen hardware and unreal engine 5. Meaning every building will have some sort of interior.

There's a procedural generation system that was used so some of the cut content still has prefabs visible. Something I wish they would do is release all of the cut content and many or all of the tools so that people could restore it like a mod if they wanted to do the work.

@suicidalbanananana yeah, the mod is awesome, there are a lot of aerodynes and helicopters avaliable to use in the base game, 2 different marked NCPD police av ones with working sirens along with 1 MaxTac one, the trauma team ones with toggleable sirens, SoCal border patrol and MaxTac has helicopters too, and even all the new phantom liberty NUSA government av's exist in the game.

Dude, I loved exploring NC even more than the Quests in it. It's bums me so hard to see all the cut content. I would have no problem if CDPR release a 20 buck DLC to restore all the content.

I'm willing to wait 5/6 years to have an entirely explorable NC. Hopefully CDPR gets a reasonable amount of time to complete their work. I truly hope that one day in the next 8 years, I can launch my Cyberpunk game, and walk into any one megabuilding just to explore.

Well, they are switching to unreal and they already have a base. So now, they can focus more on adding stuff than fixing broken stuff. Bet most of the development time in the past 5 yrs was spent on that.

@@TysonTubeHD Yeah, RED engine. Definitely a good engine but maybe too niche to find devs who would be willing to work with it. I remember some people who work in the industry saying that the biggest benefit of using common engines like Unreal is that you don't have to train new devs in custom tools. So more of the dev time can be spent in actual development.

I recall someone else's update videos for a previous patch had a bit of an interview with one of the Devs explaining why there weren't interiors to every building. One of the reasons was simply the amount of time it would take to load up the game if it had that many assets for every single building, which is fair enough, that would be a massive drain on system resources. But I think the best way around that would be to have partial interiors, lobbies really that are part of the main map, that give access to lifts that basically act like loading screens for that building's interior. That would have worked a treat with the Megabuildings like H10 and let us explore the inside of these places properly. The obvious problem there of course, is trying to leave the buildings loaded interior to get access to other buildings...

But then you also need to have gameplay elements within. If you have thousands of buildings that are explorable but nothing to do in them besides the things you can already do outside (food, clothing, buy guns) then it doesn't really make sense. There's a reason the rail got cut - now they've added it in people use it once and go 'cool' and never do it again. Game development is about streamlining and producing value for the dollars spent

My guess is GTA VI’s “big new tech thing” is going to be actually good algorithmically based interiors and can randomize in really good ways (looking at you, Starfield) i.e. you can rob every single home in the burbs (kinda like the San Andreas mini game but much more expanded) and be able to go in to 90% of the tall buildings, warehouses, hotels, etc. Thus this will clearly inspire Cyberpunk and CD project Red to do the same with Orion!!!

I would imagine they have something called shared/common asset groups, make it once and then go copy paste. But CDPR as we know was trying to achieve unrealistic deadlines so a lot of it was copy pasted and neither finalised neither cleaned up.

Absolutely! The pacing at the beginning still feels off to me. Like we should be immersed in the world, the city and the life of V before things go wrong so we properly feel the impact but instead we just thrown almost immediately into a failed mission and the rest of the game is dealing with the aftermath. We only really learn about V and her/his interactions after it when it should be before.

I think the fact that it has a roof is testimony that it was never meant to be usable, at least not beyond the bottom floor. They probably placed the roof there to block access from the top of the building. It makes no sense for megabuildings to have a roof otherwise since they all follow the same atrium-style layout.

The detailed roofs are only created for cinematic scenes where the player moves on the AV during a mission.

Maybe the megabuildings you cant enter are in the emergency "war" mode lol, you know from the new judge dredd, the megabuildings in that movie have different emergency response modes for sealing off the outside world.

Strange how nobody wonders why CDPR didnt do Assassins creed with the megablocks, You can scale most buildings just to fall into oblivion once they change into holograms, yet they made the effort to have everything roof covered, as if AV flight was planned till release.

Y'know... These megabuilding designs... So many of them have a large square pillar as their only support and have the building hang off the sides of it (like a tree's trunk and it's branches, only with so much of the building not being supported) that it makes me wonder how well that works with Californian earthquakes... I mean, in theory, they've been a thing in game for decades and Maxmium Mike talks about them, but they seem like they must be pretty structurally questionable given that, again, this is in California.

I would suppose that either some geometry or materials put on geometry have automatically generated navmesh for pathfinding. I feel like just because an NPC can spawn some place that doesn't mean something was planned for it. The roof might have needed to be finished for some fly by scenes. It would be nice if there were some buildings that were fully fleshed out. The problem though is anything local to the player has to be placed there by the cpu and present on the ssd which could quickly go over the performance budget.

Love your videos, you’re doing exactly what I’d be doing if I could play the PC/mod version. Unfortunately I’m stuck with PS5, so I can’t fly around or clip through walls🤣 I have one question though: have you ever found any items outside the allowed playable area, eg. on rooftops, unfinished buildings and so on? As someone on PC, you're really not missing out on much. Being able to download mods are cool, but to be honest there's nothing really groundbreaking as the game doesn't have a high level of modability without developer tools. Big boobs are cool though
