One of my heroes. I believe a lot of the modern action/superhero directors owe Gene more than a passing nod. Look at his fight sequences and then view some recent action flicks, you'll see a little bit of Colan in every frame.

It's sad how underrated his run became once Frank Miller took over. He is as important as John Romita SR. was to Spider-man. Definitely one of the best comic artists of all time and hands down one of the most important hands to ever grace the pages of Daredevil.

I'd read that Gene Colan would pencil in grey areas as grey, rather than cross-hatches -- now I see that he actually did! Very idiosyncratic, I'm sure! Always enjoyed his fluid, dynamic style.

Colan's background in horror comics worked so well with giving Daredevil that film noir aesthetic that's now synonymous with the character.

There should be a new DAREDEVIL action show,new animie show and new movie. The movie in'03 was not that good. There should a new line of DAREDEVIL of graffic stories by Frank Miller.
